Conversacion en ingles: Pornografía

Cada segundo hay 28.258 usuarios de internet vie... ndo pornografía, y un tercio de éstos son mujeres. “Sex” es uno de los términos más buscados en internet. Sólo la industria del porno online produce más de 100.000 millones de dólares al año.
En esta conversación en inglés, empezamos revisando la historia de la pornografía, que se remonta sorprendentemente a 35.000 años, y después hablamos de la situación hoy en día, y las actitudes hacia la pornografía en el mundo.
Después tratamos tipos específicos de “especialidades” pornográficas como el fetichismo, o el porno basado en situaciones de la vida real. Luego hablamos de la legalidad de la pornografía, y las regulaciones en cuanto a censura en el mundo.
La conversación termina con una charla sobre algunos de los argumentos más habituales a favor y en contra de la pornografía (junto con estadísticas de usos), ¡y de algunas de las estrellas del porno que han alcanzado la fama y notoriedad por sus hazañas sexuales en pantalla!

TOM: Hello, my name’s Tom, and I’m here with Mark again. Hello Mark!
MARK: Hello Tom!
TOM: We’re back in Ciutadella Park, with our friendly parrots and today we’re gonna talk all about pornography. But in English we don’t call it ‘pornography’ really do we? We call it ‘porn’ informally or ‘porno’ sometimes. What do you call it?
MARK: Porn…
TOM: Porn. OK. So can you give us a definition of porn, please Mark?
MARK: Yeah. A dictionary definition is “the portrayal[1] of explicit sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual excitement and erotic satisfaction” and the word ‘pornography’ is derived from Ancient Greece, where ‘pornea’ was a ‘prostitute’ and ‘grapho’ means ‘I write’ therefore the origin of the word is writing or depicting[2] prostitutes…
TOM: OK, thank you. And looking a bit at the history of porn, depictions of a sexual nature are basically as old as civilisation themselves, aren’t they? A bit like music when we talked about that in the podcasts; they have found figurines[3], known as the Venus Figurines[4], thirty…that are thirty five thousand years old that they, some people consider the first kind of[5]… uh…porn sculptures, and they had hugely exaggerated breasts[6] and genitals and since then, they’ve found Paleolithic cave paintings; and the Ancient Greeks also…uh…were masters of porn and they were the first people to depict gay[7] pornography. Um…and after that, what other civilisations were there?

Every second 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography, a third of whom are women. ‘Sex’ is one of the most searched for terms on the internet, and the online pornography market alone is worth over US $100 billion a year.
In this English conversation, we begin by looking at the history of pornography – going back an incredible 35,000 years – before discussing the modern day situation, and attitudes towards pornography around the world.
We then discuss specific types of “specialist” pornography – like fetish pornography, and reality pornography – before talking about the legality of pornography, and censorship laws around the world.
The conversation ends with a chat about some of the most common arguments for and against pornography (along with usage statistics), as well as some of the most famous porn stars who have achieved fame and notoriety through their on-screen sexual antics!
The conversation podcast finishes with a 5 minute language class about the many interesting uses of the word “Hardcore” in English.
