The Mariana Hollow are a female fronted, London based 5 piece who play dark, ambient progressive rock.. Fronted by the gorgeous an d extremely talented Rebecca Spinks, TMH are a force to be heard both live and on album. Recently they have been on tour across the UK with the mighty Breed77 and before their gig in Manchester (the first time they have ever played in manchester), Planet Mosh got the chance to chat to the whole band about: Their latest album entitled ‘Velvet Black Sky’, who they would love to tour with and where their inspiration comes from. Fantasist are a wierd, progressive blues rock band from Manchester, who wear pinstriped suits onstage… What could be better? After the release of their astounding debut album entitled, Giggle Juice last year – Fantasist have had a relentless year touring all across the UK and Europe and have recently opened for Breed 77 in Manchester. Before the show I caught up with the band and they told me about: Why stripes are the coolest things ever, what we can expect from their new upcoming album and what the rest of the year holds for the band. A band who are both great live and on album, Fantasist are a must see band in 2012!

Interview with Steel Threads logo de Planetmosh radio

Hailing from Coventry, Steel Threads are a power folk band armed only with a fiddle, double bass, acoustic guitar and the power of ones voice. At their recent show in Manchester supporting the mighty Breed 77, lead singer and guitar player Neil, took the time to talk to me about the history of Steel Threads, their debut EP and what we can expect from their upcoming album entitled “Timing is Everything” – which is due to be released in June via Rocksector Records. They are a band who are unique, innovative and sound completely different to anything out on the scene at the moment. Most definately a band to watch out for in 2012!

What have we got for you lovely people this week, eh?  How about something new from Firewind and Falling In Reverse (for the youn g ‘uns)?  What if we throw in a little Exit State, Attica Rage, Michael Schenker and Bull-Riff Stampede?  That sound OK to you?  Certainly does to me.  What if I throw in a Spotlight on Nightqueen and a Shock Of The New featuring Stranger, Blyndsyde, Temtris, Shotgun Chaperone and Electric Boa?  Sound good?  Does, doesn’t it?   By the way, if you’re in a band (originals or covers) and you want to be on the show, get in touch with me via the website at http://www.wyrdwaysrs.com,  Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/wyrdwaysrockshow) or ReverbNation (http://www.reverbnation.com/wyrdwaysrockshow) and send me some files (or a CD).  If I like what I hear, I’ll play your stuff on the show. This week, we commemorate one of the greatest Metal record labels as an era comes to an end.  Warner Brothers, who bought the Dut ch label, Roadrunner, have decided to close the Canadian, UK and Dutch offices, sacking some of the best people in the business.  There’s quite a few people who aren’t happy.  What else have we got for you this week?  New stuff from Asia, Silverjet, Noctem and Jettblack as well as a Shock Of The New featuring Wulfshon, Death Valley Knights, Exodia, Charlie Shred and PelleK.  Something, quite literally, for everyone.   By the way, if you’re in a band (originals or covers) and you want to be on the show, get in touch with me via the website at http://www.wyrdwaysrs.com ,  Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/wyrdwaysrockshow) or ReverbNation (http://www.reverbnation.com/wyrdwaysrockshow).  If you send me some files (or a CD) and I like what I hear, I’ll play your stuff on the show.   If you’ve got a smartphone, you can also find The Wyrd Ways Rock Show on the Tune-In Radio app.   If you want to get in touch with me to ask for a song or take part in the show in any way, click on the E-mail or Contact Form links on the homepage.  Remember you can also listen to the show by subscribing with iTunes by pasting itpc://wyrdways.podOmatic.com/rss2.xml into your browser’s address bar.

Late again, but I do have a good reason.  The new Europe album, Bag Of Bones, was embargoed until 30th April, so I decided to del ay this week’s show until the embargo was lifted.  You’ll be hearing several tracks from the album during the run of the show.  As well as that, you’ll also be hearing new stuff from Circus Maximus, Anathema and Nightqueen.  This week’s Shock Of The New features Weapon, The Dead Wretched, Burlak, Inverticrux and Skelectory.
