High speed, low drag is the topic of discussion on this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories. Mike and Bennett discuss what it takes to get to the unattainable level of mastery. Learning and applying a skill set through encouraging repetition and/or blunt force trauma. One could argue any action could become high speed, low drag. (Have you ever seen a trained chef with a knife?) Any action worthy of mastering requires study, practical application, and applied learning. We have a saying for that, “slow is smooth; smooth is fast”. Building muscle memory through slow methodical practice breeds a familiar, clock-work like, feeling of smooth action. Further, smooth, repetition of the basics leads to advanced learning and greater speed of the applied fundamentals necessary to achieve a higher degree of skill. One must master the basics to learn the fundamentals necessary to build productive habits, which leads to advanced roles of mastery. When you realize the journey is never ending but rather open ended, that's when you become high speed, low drag. Without even realizing it, you've become what others perceive as a master...you badass mutha trucka! Check out the following high speed, low drag veterans we've had on Cigars and Sea Stories.
