Does your health coaching website include these 5 essential elements?
I've worked with lots of health coaches to create their new websites, and I've noticed a trend.
It's really tempting to overcomplicate our websites.
We want to make them pretty, and include lots of photos, blog posts and social media links ... but sometimes, we overlook the essential elements on a site that drive our sales funnel (And after all, if you're creating a health coaching website, isn't your sales funnel the point?)
Here are the 5 essential elements you need to have on your health coach website:
1. Email newsletter sign-up box
This is about so much more than an email newsletter. Your mailing list is your key asset for your online business!
Rather than waiting for people to visit your website - if you have a mailing list, you can contact them!
You'll want use a mailing list service, and not do it yourself. Even before you're ready to see clients, put a mailing list sign up on your website and start building your list. It's never too early to start!
2. A picture of you
This is not the time to be shy. Potential clients want to work with a friendly, warm, knowledgeable looking health coach who can solve their specific problems. You'll need a friendly looking picture of yourself, and I suggest putting it on the front page of your website, so people quickly get a sense of who you are. A professional photoshoot is money VERY well spent. If you're just starting out, find an amateur photographer friend with a decent camera, and go outside in late-afternoon light to take some photos.
3. A clear statement describing what you do
Put this towards the top of your website. New visitors to your site need to quickly understand what you do and what problems you solve. Saying that you help everyone is an instant turnoff. Get clear about your target market, and describe it in a prominent place on your site.
4. A way for people to contact you
This can be as simple as a page with a contact form or an email address. But don't hide this, make it really clear and easy how people can get in touch with you. The simpler, the better.
5. A way for people to work with you
If you would like to get clients through your health coaching website, then you've got to make it clear what services you provide, and how people can work with you. This can be as simple as a 'work with me' tab, and a contact form - or a PayPal button to buy now. Don't hide it, and don't use fancy language. Be as clear as possible about your products and services - and how to start working with you!
