Welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, for April 15th. Now, I know what you're probably thinking. I'm going to pick an obvious day today... Today is Tax day in the United States. But lets go with something a bit more mysterious—and frankly, more fun. It’s Take a Wild Guess Day.
Yes, an actual holiday dedicated to shrugging your shoulders and going, “Eh, let’s see what happens.” A day that invites you to tap into your intuition— perhaps more accurately, just throwing logic out the window and pick Door Number 3 for no good reason. Whether it's choosing a lunch spot or trying to figure out what your dog is thinking (spoiler: it's usually food), today is your license to guess boldly.
So, with the spirit of guessing in mind, here’s your quote of the day from Jean de La Fontaine:
"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it."

Let that one settle in for a second. It’s poetic. It's wise. And it’s basically the universe saying, “Surprise!” Think about how many times you’ve planned everything down to the last detail—only to find yourself exactly where you weren’t trying to go. Life, much like Take a Wild Guess Day, doesn’t always reward the most calculated decisions.
Sometimes, it’s the unexpected turn, the last-minute detour, or the random guess that ends up being exactly what you needed. So today, don’t be afraid to guess. Don’t be afraid to take the road less mapped out. Whether it's a new opportunity, a big life choice, or just choosing the weirdest flavor on the menu—maybe that wild guess is steering you right toward your destiny. And if not? Well, at least you'll have a good story.
That’s it for today. Thanks for joining me on The Daily Quote. I’m Andrew McGivern, signing off for today but I'll be back tomorrow, same pod time, same pod station with another Daily Quote.
