2 Friends On A Couch

In another Mezcal fueled adventure, Nicki and Devon take on tipping, 24-hour diners, and share stories from their pasts. Basically it's an episode of 2 Friends on a Couch. Bonus point go to our heroes though because they tie up a loose end left after their St. Patrick's Day episode, when Nicki tells a story from when she was #VeryHarryPotter. Keeping with the theme of children's books Devon finally finds the words to express his love of Judy Blume. In the end it's realized that they don't have a leader and despite Nicki's suggestion after Devon drops a knowledge bomb that leaves her cursing #GodDamnItZach

We celebrate St. Patrick's Day by acting #Goofy and generally #MakingAnIdiom of ourselves. The struggle to define what exactly the show is continues when Nicki makes a statement about it being a series of digressions. French literature and stream of consciousness win the day, well that and getting drunk on Irish whiskey... In fact getting drink on Irish Whiskey definitely wins the day.

Although our hosts are definitely not #RosettaStoned while recording this episode, they do have some fun with language. #Clenched. This isn't a #DressRehearsal. #Clenched. They discuss the underlying philosophy of their everyday interactions and it boils down to spreading the sunshine. Which Devon thinks sounds dirty. #Bazinga! In conclusion, #clenched.

Taking it to the streets like an odd couple of AM radio hosts... Nicki and Devon discuss the weather, Deadpool (No Spoilers), the ratings system, Fifty Shades of Grey (Huge Spoilers), and Hugh Jackman. In addition they discuss the merit of having a go to baker, the validity of gender revelation cakes, and play a thrilling round of the movie game they still haven't given a name to yet.

Nicki and Devon revisit some past topics and procedures before putting the #Kibosh on all of that #MetaPodcasting after rolling the dice. Devon starts a flame war with the IT guys at his new job and Nicki presents her opinions on the Novice Effect. We'd elaborate, but it would be much better if you listened to find out what any and all of that means! As an added tidbit Devon does explain the meaning of life so we've got that going for us... Which is nice!

Nicki and Devon welcome a very special guest to the couch for their 40th episode. Then perhaps even more exciting (not even close) for the first time they play their own movie trivia game... and the results are spectacular. So whether you like surprises, trivia, or theme songs from the 90's there is something for everyone

Nicki and Devon chew the fat, one of them LITERALLY, regarding #SexualFetish and we're #SorryNotSorry to #JustinAndFriend that this all bloopers all the time episode mostly features the duo reiterating some points from earlier episodes, discussing the "Board with Friends" Ghostbuster's episode that featured the podfather himself (that's... that's Devon), and as a result we geek the fuck out about our favorite franchise! Also as an added disclaimer, we may spoil the 2015 remake of Point Break...Again #SorryNotSorry

Nicki is back from Virginia and we start by honoring the passing of Alan Rickman (we're pretty sure we aren't responsible), David Bowie (sorry), and Lemmy (#RoadCrew). For the first time in maybe forever we actually talk about something we teased in a prior episode when Devon forces Nicki to tell the Bad Influence story and we learn there are sometimes when the salutation #MakeGoodDecisions isn't as cute as it sounds. Plus Devon finally tells us his favorite quote from the first "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie and convinces Nicki that it needs to be watched on the couch

A new studio means its time for a #Throwback where we just talk until Mike comes home from work. In that time we are able to cover the various Power Ranger ripoffs from the nineties, how #Loquacious Walter is, Nicki tells us about her plans to go and #ChaseThatBaby, and the origin of the latest hashtag sweeping the nation #ObnoxiousForDevon. Most importantly Nicki tells everybody how she pulled one over on Devon in order to throw him a surprise birthday party including all available minions from our budding Empire. Most disappointing of all we admit that the SpoilerCasts that were recorded for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens had to be abandoned to the ages. Chipotle, Noro Virus, E. Coli, Monty Python. Not such a great start to an episode, but then we get onto movies and start discussing the actors from Avengers and Thor and make our own movie game that really pulls our fat out of the fire. The best part is the fact that the episode is only 19 minutes long so you only have to deal with the slower stuff about food-borne illnesses for like 7 of them!

We finally get long time friend of the show Sejohn Serowik on the couch and the results are even greater than anyone could have imaged. Not only do we say #Sexy and #Falcon so many times that they lose all meaning, we eventually redeem both by combining the two to create #SexyFalcon. The only reason we talk about Falcons so damn much isn't because both Nicki and Sejohn's college mascots were falcons, but because Sejohn even after 3+ hours of discussion the night before still has more to say about #StarWars and of course its creator George Lucas or as Nicki hath rechristened him #G-Lu. Then since the geek flags are already flying the three decide to go on a non-stop adventure to and through the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sejohn's final summation of the events is that it was #Torture

In our first TRULY Holiday themed episode, we invite back Dayle Decker and attempted to do an episode where we talk all about Christmas and Chanukah for our Christian and Jewish fans. We sort of succeed by naming a bunch of Adam Sandler movies, but eventually we run out of steam and just tell stories about when we met celebrities. Which was more than likely inspired by the seance we hold early on to speak directly to Dwayne Johnson. Still we have family altogether laughing and singing and having a good time which is more than enough to get a tear or two out of Devon

How do Transformers reproduce? We don't know either! Something about Protoforms, maybe. We also discuss lots of films and casting choices and their influence on society, How do YOU feel about a #BlondeBond? Nicki hates it when you clap at the end of a film screening. Just. Stop. It. Also, she tells YET another story in which she almost gets into a knife fight. Oh,and Devon says some stuff too. Have a listen!

In the very special "episode" brought to you by the letter A and the number Q we get up off the couch and the whole proceedings occur with us on our feet, Mike makes a silent appearance playing #MassEffect and Devon reveals to Nicki that he's already played and beaten it before. Nicki speaks about the immunity strengthening properties of Elderberry Syrup and all Devon can think about is how Elderberries make him think of #DongNuggets. Which is sort of appropriate because the reason she is standing up is to prepare all of us a delicious meal of Dinosaur shaped fun (chicken) nuggets that makes us go into a quote off of #JurassicPark and #JurassicWorld (Devon's father of course being the only person to still not have seen Jurassic World) We also do a lot of shout outs to Ponytail Jeff and like the titular Betelgeuse that ends up with him being invited to join us on the couch the next time he is available and we are recording. Welcome to the thirtieth episode of 2 Friends on a Couch! Featuring guest Zach "Galifianakis" Dyer. As teased on last week's episode the three of us went to a Podcast MeetUp group and had quite the adventure. Which is good, because if we didn't then who knows what we might have had to talk about. Zach and Devon go deep down the Petro-Rabbit Hole in a discussion about all things Transformers. While Nicki calls shenanigans on Devon's claim from last episode that the bible is just NOW being adapted for the silver screen. Best of all we finally get the Tyrese Gibson story recorded onto digital media for everybody's listening pleasure!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Today is a day to be with your families so we don't have a new episode. Instead Devon, Nicki, and guest Zach "Galifianakis" Dyer decided to take Two minutes to share what we they're thankful for. Of course since this is 2 Friends on a Couch those Two minutes grew into Seven. Luckily we were able to quell the growth of the infection, via amputation. Plus we added a little surprise. a.k.a "I would eat the penis" What both parties expected to be a civil conversation quickly degenerates into a bashing of the new James Bond film the likes of which has never been heard before! in that time though we learn about Nicki's humanitarian work regarding the #CuspOfMaturity, Devon's actual factual no pants and cheesesteak adventures, and somehow both troll the sort of ginger cashier who we bought our tickets from at last night's screening. The only #DameShame is that Mike only brought enough Shish Kebabs for himself!

In the first episode of our second season, Nicki realizes that sex sells and she makes a mildly indecent proposal. #GiveYourPants Devon decides he wants to #FuckGuyFieri (not really) and we grieve for people of the world who are #AllergicToChocolate. Devon waxes wistfully about his old theater days until Nicki puts the #Kaibash on it and they introduce an entirely new podcast-- #BoardWithFriends! Wow, kinda buried the lead on this synopsis....
