Episode 75 Guest: Joshua William Green MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE My very special guest is one of the most talented people I know and he is also one of my bestest friends. Joshua William Green made his directorial debut this past fall at the Ephrata Performing Arts Center. Along with it being his debut production it was also the regional premiere of The Color Purple. Hindered with many obstacles Joshua once again defied all odds and produced an experience that will impact a community for years to come. This is Part 1 of a 3 Part series and every hour, minute, and second will be worth the listen! Lives were forever changed by this production. Starring as Shawanda and The Manager in Elf The Musical at The Dutch Apple Dinner Theater. The episode is filled with Honesty, Laughter, and Heartfelt views of points. We relate on many topics but always end up spending most of our time discussing our melanin experiences. There are very few times we experience being the majority. Being black actors bring us together in ways that sometimes feel bittersweet . And other times remind us of home, our childhood, and our families. Episode 71 Guest: Janelle Evans Like the color purple. Where do it come from? Now my eyes are open! LOOK WHAT GOD HAS DONE!!! Welcome Janelle Evans. My guest and cast member The Color Purple at Ephrata Performing Arts Center. Nelly plays a male character “Bobby” in TCP. Nelly is a W O M A N and pronouns are comfortably HER/SHE. We talk about how gender roles and identity have effected us both on and off stage. How many things we have in common with the characters and songs in this beautiful show. Episode 69 My Guests: Pastor John Coaxum My Big Brother Ra’Mone Cummings Greetings Guests!!! Join me as I sit down with Pastor John Coaxum and my big Brother Ra’Mone Cummings to have a very important conversation about the comfort and discomfort of queerness in the black church. 10 years ago I wouldn’t be ready for this sit down, but growth has made me able. Pastor Coaxum was the perfect guest for me to have an open, loving conversation with about making progress in an area that has been ignored and and pushed in a corner ( or closet lol). Listen out for Ra’Mone and his perfect assists. My brother always finds a way to connect the dots. Especially when my mind wanders lol. In searching for understanding we are able to respect each other’s truths while expressing our differences. This conversation doesn’t fix the problem; rather it strives for resolution.
