A Trouble with Words

On this absolutely not late because there are no rules episode of A Trouble with Words we talk about one of the best shows ever made; Taskmaster. Seriously this will be your new favorite thing on television if you give it a chance. It has a hint of mystery, loads of excitement and many famous British comedy personalities competing for nonsensical prizes. It makes me laugh like nothing ever has and I hope listening to this inspires you to watch free past seasons on the Official Taskmaster YouTube Channel. Did I mention they are free? Also I’m sorry to say this but no sketches again as we find our footing. Instead we have two amazing guests that barely get a word in over my constant talking. We decided to make a change regarding how we discuss various topics on the podcast. Mostly it’s becoming too difficult to have conversations without going into depth, and as a result it feels like we’re not really saying anything. So going forward we’re going to talk spoilers a lot more. Mostly every episode actually. We’ll warn you first every time though so don’t worry about getting blindsided. This episode is on Avengers Endgame and we talk about it with the assumption that you’ve seen it first. If you haven’t you should before listening to this obviously. Go do that now, we’ll wait. So how did we feel about this new Avengers as well-established fans of the franchise? I’ll give you a hint. It’s like someone took everything in the MCU, mixed it up in bag, and then poured it out into a new movie. Leaving the end product a lot like one of the characters that appears in it … bloated in the middle and less cool then expected. In what will go down in history as the greatest April Fools Day prank ever pulled off, there was no episode posted yesterday. We were suppose to but we didn’t. Classic. One of my resolutions for 2019 is to make the best podcast possible. To try harder and make a better product this year than last year. So that said . . . What a fantastic episode this is! We’ve got two great guests that we get to talk to about one of the best super hero films we saw in 2018 – Deadpool 2. This is how you start a year off strong. Honestly the most surprising thing about the movie was just how good it was for a sequel to something that pretty much came to an end story wise. They really put the work into making this followup a range of things more than just juvenile jokes breaking up over-the-top action scenes and it shows. Well done indeed. Thanks to Lindsey my wife for coming on and showing us how it’s done. She does lots behind the scenes that makes this all possible, but having her on is still my favorite way she participates. Also a special thanks to Amanda for joining us on what is hopefully the first of many visits, but also for always being supportive of the show by listening on the regular and even spreading the word. We survived! Every year comes to an end and with it comes this episode.
