Sexy M&Ms
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
This one might get you a little bit steamy or rather it might actually be a mood killer because the woke mob media can’t let simple folk enjoy sexy anthropomorphized candy mascots. Yes, you read that right. There was a bit of kerfuffle a while back on the internet because Mars Inc., the makers of M&M’s decided to redesign their mascots and in doing so they reduced the femininity and sex appeal of the green and brown M&M. Now while we have to deal with the fact that Tucker Carlson went on a huge rant about how he can no longer derive sexual pleasure from these mascots, could there be another reason why Mars launched this rebrand?
Fellow podcast person Alex joins me this week as we get deep in the topic.

Businesses Arent Job Creators
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’ve long heard the idea that businesses are job creators. But is this true? This position/ideology is frequently used for government/financial policy to aid business/wealthy individuals. It might be time to rethink this position. I’m joined by special podcast person Alex as we look at this issue further.

Does Satire Work
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We all know and love satirical works, right? Well, maybe there are some who don’t and that’s okay. The real question is does satire work? Do people recognize a work being satirical? Or do people take a work at face value and are oblivious to the issues being raised or questioned? Satire is often used as a means to critique thoughts/people/practices/etc. to bring about some kind of change. Special podcast person Alex joins me in the discussion to find out if this is the case.

Do We Need Unions
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
You might have seen that workers at an Amazon warehouse in New York unionized. Even though this is a big event as it’s the first time a union effort has been successful at the monolith that Amazon, there’s been a downward trend of unionization overall. You might be thinking, is this a big deal? Do we even still need unions?
That’s what we’re looking at this week, at how unions are a vital part of our working environment even though there is large anti-union sentiment out there. Special podcast person Alex joins me in this discussion.

Tearing Down Statues
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
If you remember in 2020… or was it 2021? At any rate, some time ago there was a big push to take down statues of certain individuals. As always, we here keep our finger on the pulse of current but regardless, in Canada the focus was mainly on those associated with the Residential School System and in the States the focus was on those in the Confederacy.
Should statues/monuments be taken down? By doing so are we erasing history? I’m joined by special podcast person Alex as we take a look at these and maybe other questions.

LIberal Biaas
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
You may or may not be familiar with the term but it comes up often enough that I gotta hear about how every piece of media is slanted towards the left or liberal ideals. But is this actually the case?
This week I’m joined by special podcast person Alex and we examine if there is in fact a liberal bias and if not, is there any kind of bias?

Marvel Movie Madness
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
At this point, if you don't know what the MCU is, your finger is very much off the pulse. But that’s okay. You might just be a little confused about this episode. Recently (and by this I mean 2 or 3 years ago but time doesn’t exist it’s fine) film director Martin Scorsese said that he doesn’t consider Marvel films to be art and they’re more like amusement park rides. Now, if you don’t know who Scorsese is, you are on some kind of streak.
Does he have a point? Does Disney/Marvel’s success present some kind of brewing problem with the film industry? Should we consider Marvel films art?
This week I’m joined by special podcast person Alex as we hash this out.

Song Meanings
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! This week I’m joined by fellow podcast person Alex and we’re talking about song meanings. Not just that songs have meaning but several songs’ meanings are misunderstood. Which songs? Well, you’ll just have to listen to find out, now won’t you?

Aim for the Bushes
We’re back!! This week fellow podcast person Alex joins and we discuss vaccines and the current furor around them. Namely, a common tactic used by people who are against them is to say that they need to do their own research. It’s something that annoys me to no end because there is no research and it leads to broader political ideologies as to why people hold these positions.

Doping Scandals And Reactionaries
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! Oh man, it’s been a while but we have returned for 2022. If you missed the update, you can back and listen to that. The Beijing Winter Olympics just finished but they were far from having controversy. We’ll be looking at the doping scandal involving Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva who was found with a banned substance but was allowed to continue. People were quick to notice this fact and compared this to American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson’s situation last year in the lead up to the Tokyo Summer Games and how she wasn’t allowed to compete. But are these two situations the same?

Blame South Park
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! ‘Member South Park? ‘Member when they used to kill Kenny? ‘Member when a generation of people became politically apathetic and actively contrarian because of the show? Okay well maybe that’s a bit too far of a reach but a show as popular and culturally significant as South Park did have some kind of effect on society at large is fair to say. This week we take a look at when writer Dana Schwartz critiqued the show and the backlash she received for it.

The Moral Quandary That Is The Internet
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! Oh boy it’s been a while but this week we take a look at the Internet. It’s something so revolutionary it’s changed many facets of our society. The problem I have is I don’t know how to feel about it. It’s caused so many positive things but at the same time so many negative things.
That’s it for this week. More all new, all different episodes will be on the way to close out 2021, so stay tuned for that. Also, don’t forget to check out the podcast October Jones and Fish with Legs.

The Cybertruck Is Stupid
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
Tesla has a new car, the Cybertruck. It’s not out yet but it will be someday, maybe. I’m not a fan of its design and I don’t just mean how it looks. It presents a vision of the future that is cold, dark, and lonely. Elon Musk tends to be portrayed as some kind of visionary genius who’s out to save humanity but the Cybertruck doesn’t portray that vision. The same goes with other ventures Musk has going as we take a look at the fabrication of the Musk/Tesla mythos.
I don’t mention it outright in the episode but the following videos form part of the basis of this topic and you might find them interesting.

Psycho And Horror Trends
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho is considered a classic by many. It’s had a huge impact, both when it was first released and on more recent works. This week I’m joined by special podcast person Christian as we take a look at the history of horror in cinema and how a film like Psycho changed everything.

The Punisher Is Boring
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! Do you enjoy comics? Of course you do. How about anti-heroes? No brainer. Violence? Um, yeah. So then you’ll definitely like the Punisher. Easily the most sophisticated anti-hero out there. Or maybe not. For my money the Punisher is actually a very boring character. Yes. I’m willing to go there.
Special podcast person Christian joins me on talking about the character, what he represents in comics and how his worldview has been co-opted by contemporary law enforcement and military.

Bonus Episode 5 - Space Jam
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
It’s been a while since we’ve had a bonus episode so worry no longer for it is here! This clip comes from the episode ‘Welcome to the Space Jam.’
To keep an air of mystery about this bonus episode, I haven’t even listened to this snippet. What I can tell you is that I’m joined by special podcast people Dexter and Alex and I’m going to assume it had something to do with Space Jam but there’s a slight chance it doesn’t. You’ll just have to take that chance.

How to Email
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! So you need to send an email to a colleague but how should you start? Is a simple “Hey” good enough? Should you include exclamation points? How should you sign off? Sincerely? Cordially? Wiggidy wiggidy? Is the tone too harsh? Should you CC? BCC? Where does it end?
Well, you’re in luck. In this week’s episode, special podcast person Alex joins me in a discussion on the triviality (roll with it.) of composing and sending emails. Do we know how to compose the perfect email? Probably not, but we do know how to comment on the ridiculousness of it all.
That’s it for this week. Big thanks to Alex for joining in. Stay tuned for an all new, all different episode dropping soon. Also, don’t forget to check out the podcast October Jones and Fish with Legs.

Spoilers Aren't Important
Episode in
Aim for the Bushes
We’re back! This week we’re talking about spoilers. That’s right, cover your ears because everything is getting spoiled. So beware. Now, with that warning out of the way, I think people's aversion to having things spoiled is a little ridiculous. It’s not the end of the world if something gets spoiled but at the same time I can understand wanting to experience something with a blank slate. So where does the balance lie? That’s a good question. I hope it gets answered in this episode. Just in case you’re wondering, I don’t actually listen to the episodes before hand because I don’t want anything spoiled.
That’s it for this week. Stay tuned for an all new, all different episode dropping soon. Also, don’t forget to check out the podcast October Jones and Fish with Legs.
Thank you for listening.
