Strangers at the DPAG, and Arcade Theatre's The First Time - The DPAG's current curatorial intern, James Hope, told us about the photography show he has up currently, "Strangers", and actors Kat and Sahara, and producer Clementine came in to tell us about Arcade Theatre's next show, "The First Time", which will go up this Wednesday, May 30th at the New Athenaeum Theatre in the Octagon.

New Zealand Music Month Art - Our guests were: Luke Easterbrook, Lynda Cullen and Jean Stewart. Luke has an interactive work currently installed at the DPAG in play space which asks people to draw on a giant cassette tape their responses to Dunedin music. Lynda told us what is coming up for the gallery's public programs for music month.Jean talked about her latest work documenting the last days of Auckland's King Arms tavern.

Then, Jay Hutchinson came in to talk about his show on currently at the Blue Oyster Gallery. It's open for one more week!

Wellington Media Collective - Matthew Galloway, Philip Kelly and Chris McBride

The Freedom of the Migrant and Not Neutral, at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery - I spoke to artist Matthew Galloway about his show "The Freedom of the Migrant", and to Chris McBride and Philip Kelly about "Not Neutral", their archival selection of posters designed by the Wellington Media Collective between 1978 and 1998. Both shows are on now at Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

Public Art Lab and Troll Cam McCracken, director of the DPAG, described a new initiative designed to find out what Dunedin people want from public art. There is an interactive structure at the Gallery, and a second one will tour neighbourhood libraries, enabling people to say where, what and why public art is necessary (or not)! Ralph McCubbin Howell and Hannah Smith are Trick of the Light, and bring their show, Troll, to the Fortune Studio tonight for a three-night run.

Dunedin Pride Week 2018 and The Day Brings Strange Relations Hahna Briggs is an organizer of Dunedin Pride Week, which starts on Saturday. We talked about the myriad events that will cellebrate LGBIT (etc, etc.) life and culture in Dunedin, based at the Hub at 23 Princes Street. Michael Greaves and I discussed his recent painting work which will be up at The Daily Coffee Co. at 366a Princes Street tomorrow, until April 20th.

Augmented Reality - Kristy Pearson - Back in Town Kristy Pearson is at the cutting edge of some new initiatives in Augmented Reality... we took it all apart in conversation!

Tao Wells' booklaunch at the Blue Oyster, and Justin Spiers, current artist in residence at the Caselberg house. Tao Wells' new publication, "Easier", will be launched at the Blue Oyster Gallery this coming Wednesday evening. We discussed his work and his politics, which are inextricably linked. Then, Tao and I talked Chloe Geohagen, who is on the board of the Caselburg Trust, who offer various artists' residences at their cottage in Broad Bay. Justin Spiers is the current fellow, so we talked about his work.
