AL021: what’s missing pt 2

Episode in Awesome Life
Our minds are like a glass of water. Each day we are adding water to our glass. For most of us the majority of the water we are adding to our glass is dirty. Our minds are filled with mostly dirty water. Part of cultivating what’s missing in our lives is putting clean water in our glass but also minimizing the dirty water that is being added. In our society today we have almost become desensitized to how dirty the water is that is going into our glass, because it is being poured in so often and it such qualities, we have forgotten what clean water feels like. In What’s Missing pt 2 I share with you some sources of this dirty water, and how I recognized them. What’s Missing part 2 is a follow up to episode 018 of the show. If you have not listened to 018 yet it might help you to have a bit better perspective on this episode. At the end of episode 018 I spoke about some techniques I have used to help me find, and cultivate what was missing. This episode is the first in sharing some of those techniques. AL020: be more with less

Episode in Awesome Life
Simplicity in today’s society is highly underrated. In a society that encourages us to be more, do more, have more, accomplish more, strive more, consume more, eat more, and buy more simplicity is often over looked. To many of us the idea that we can “Be More With Less” doesn’t even make sense. In reality, the more simplicity we can introduce into our lives, the more we will make space for what we are truly searching for. Courtney Carver from Be More with Less joins me today for AL020. Courtney has a blog that she started in 2010, Be More with Less. If you are looking for inspiration to simplify your life and infuse it with love Be More with Less is for you. Be more with less is about simplifying your life and really living. Living with less creates time and space to discover what really matters. Through decluttering, and focusing on the best things instead of all the things, you can create a life with more savings and less no debt, more health and less stress, more space and less stuff, and more joy with less obligation. I thoroughly enjoyed my chat with Courtney and I’m excited to share it with all of you. AL019: authentically you sisterhood with Lyndi Eimerl

Episode in Awesome Life
For the last 15 plus years personal development has been a big part of Lyndi Eimerl’s life. Countless seminars, books, audios, conferences, retreats, events, workshops. All of these have severed her tremendously well and added tremendous value to her life. About a year ago she realized despite all the growth something was still missing. In her words: “My soul was still craving more. There was something missing, something not coming in that I craved so much.” She also realized there were a lot of other women who felt the same desires and frustrations she did. Out of this came the authentically YOU sisterhood. In this episode Lyndi’s talks about her journey to rediscovering her authentic self, gives a few tips on living in a more intentional and authentic way, as well as discussing the authentically YOU sisterhood and the events she is putting on. Lyndi has an event coming up February 20th in Sacramento, Ca. You can get info here. Space is limited so register ASAP. I may be biased because I love her and think she is the most incredible wife, mother, and partner I could have ever dreamed of, but I loved doing this episode and love what Lyndi is offering the world. AL018: what’s missing

Episode in Awesome Life
For many years I had this subtle knowing that something was missing. I could not put my finger on exactly what it was. I had been studying personal development for many years, reading books, listening to audios, attending conventions, and seminars, and the majority of what I was learning was having me searching in the wrong place for what’s missing. I was taught, cultured, and influenced to do more, accomplish more, get more recognition and awards, earn more money, run a faster race, get in better shape, build a bigger business, buy a bigger home, get a nicer car, buy nicer clothes, take nicer vacations, get nicer gadgets, and eat at nicer restaurants and then I would find what was missing. Although doing these things was often fun and rewarding the feeling was temporary and soon enough I was back to setting new goals and striving for more in search of what’s missing. The reality is it never worked. The sense of joy and fulfillment, no matter how much of these things I did, accomplished, or consumed, was always temporary or non existent. I was just like the vast majority of people in our society, striving, striving, striving, yet never arriving. About 5 years ago I caught a glimpse of what was missing, and slowly started to look in a different place for it.  I finally figured out not only where to look, but how to look. AL017: mysticism & the scientific method with David Eimerl

Episode in Awesome Life
Growing up the son of a physicist has some benefits. From playing with table top lasers and prisms, to getting a scientific explanation to almost every question a kid can ask, to learning about black holes, there was never a dull moment. I remember one such conversation at the dinner table getting a detailed explanation from my Dad about how much energy was stored in a brownie and how many homes could be powered if we were able to harness it. We didn’t try, we ate the brownie instead. As I got older our conversation started to shift to deeper subjects about science & physics, what it can explain, what it cannot, what does it all mean and is there a place for spirituality in all of this. I have read many books, articles, and blogs regarding this subject. However, discussing this with my Dad has alway been one of my favorite perspectives because of  his deep understanding of physics and quantum mechanics, and his background studying the bible and the history of Jesus. However he would not tell me his opinion on spirituality. He would answer my questions but when I asked “what do you think Dad” his response was always  “everyone needs to figure it out for themselves.” This is why I am so excited to bring you guys episode AL017, an interview with my Dad, Dr. David Eimerl. We discuss a few subjects but my favorite is the conversation around mysticism & the scientific method.  Dr. Eimerl has a Ph’D in nuclear physics which he completed at age 23, (I was still drinking beer and finishing my undergrad degree at  23 lol). He studied at Oxford University in England, Northwestern University and UC San Diego. He has worked in the field of laser physics for close to 40 years, has a passion for fusion, does expert witness work in patent law, and runs a successful consulting business. Affectionately dubbed “an Einstein for the cyber age,” Dr. Eimerl is an innovative conceptual designer who holds three patents in glass laser technologies. During his more than thirty years developing software applications for complex laser and optical devices, he has published 130 research papers in peer-reviewed physics, engineering and computer science journals. It’s always a pleasure to have these conversations with my Dad, and I am happy he agreed to be on the podcast so I can share it with all of you guys. Enjoy! AL016: using the law of attraction effectively

Episode in Awesome Life
By now my guess is most of you have heard of the law of attraction. After learning about the law of attraction have you ever asked yourself any of these questions: Why does the same old crap keep showing up in my life? Why don’t I seen to get anywhere? Why can’t I find what I want? Why can’t I get out of this financial hole? Why can’t I find the partner I want? Why can’t I get in shape and healthy? Why do I seem to be going backwards? I know I certainly have. What I realized in my day to day experience was although I knew ‘thoughts attract things’ and thought I understood the law of attraction I didn’t understand why it didn’t seem to be working in my life. What I realized was it had always been working I just was not using the law of attraction  effectively to attract the things I wanted.  The law of attraction did not seem to be working for me until I made this simple shift. AL015: meditation will make you better at life with Chad Foreman

Episode in Awesome Life
Do you dream of living your best life?  Do you find yourself chasing more happiness, more peace and more abundance yet never feel like you’re arriving?  Last January I had reached a point in my life where I was seeking more.  More contentment, more peace, more joy, and the list goes on.  But I didn’t understand why I needed more.  I had been blessed with great financial success, an amazing family, and a significant amount of time and freedom to enjoy.  I had a life most people only dream of, so why wasn’t I satisfied?  I had spent over a decade focused on personal development and exposed myself to hundreds of books, audios and seminars to enrich my life and improve myself.  Yet something big was missing in my formula for happiness and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. But then I attended a Wayne Dyer weekend seminar last January that changed everything.  During the event, I sort of got forced to meditate for the first time in my life.  That was quite possibly the most powerful moment of my entire personal growth journey.  I went in kicking and screaming and came out profoundly changed, so I started a regular meditation practice and it has been hugely transformational for me.  Simply put, meditation made me better at life. This is why I’m so excited to share this week’s podcast with you. In AL015 Chad Forman from The Way of Meditation joins us. Chad is an internationally renowned meditation teacher who has been teaching and practicing meditation for well over 16 years.  On his website he provides a fantastic introduction to meditation complete with instructions and a collection of guided meditations.  If you’re still wondering if there is anything to this meditation thing, consider this: Chad’s Facebook pages that focus on meditation have close to 1.6 million followers.  Studies show that starting a simple meditation practice is one simple thing you can do to simultaneously improve all areas of your life, both internally and externally.  If you crave more happiness, contentment, peace, abundance, control over your mind, quality relationships, will power, productivity, health, joy, perspective, and ability to deal with challenges then tune in to this episode and discover the power of meditation with Chad Foreman. AL014: you will fail in 2016

Episode in Awesome Life
Many of us set goals and resolutions to start the year. Most of us fail to reach them. Why? There are many reasons but I believe one of the biggest is we don’t understand how our comfort zone gets in the way of accomplishing our goals. AL014: you will fail in 2016 is about understanding the relationship of growth, resolutions, and success, to our comfort zone, as well as understanding failure. You will fail in 2016. You may have failed already and its the beginning of January. Thats okay. The road to accomplishment is not the simple straight line our minds like to think it is. Failure is part of the road. Having an evolved understanding of failure is critical to sticking with our resolutions, achieving our goals, and having a rewarding fulfilling life. AL008: Lyndi Eimerl & releasing perfectionism

Episode in Awesome Life
Feeling overwhelmed? Too much to do? Are you getting down on yourself? Many of us fall into this sort of mindset. As a busy Mother of 3 children and a business owner, Lyndi Eimerl fell into the trap of perfectionism.  Her to-do lists got longer and longer, and she was in a constant state of overwhelm from striving to be perfect and to meet everyone’s expectations of her.  As a result, she was distracted and not fully present with her family and was overlooking the joy in her life.   In Episode 008 of the Awesome Life podcast (AL008) Lyndi discusses how she spent years letting the go-go-go mindset overtake her and how she learned to be more present, more joyful and get more done, all by releasing perfectionism.   There was a time when doing headstands during laundry time would have triggered my stressed out, go-go-go, hurried, serious, perfectionist mama self. But not anymore. Today I choose love. Today I choose joy. Today I choose connection. Today I choose ease. Today I choose gentleness. – Lyndi Eimerl Lyndi facebook   Subscribe to the podcast: itunes | Android Please share your comments on the show below.
