Random musings, rants, deep dives, and whatever sparks the conversation in the moment. Sometimes short thoughts recorded on the fly, sometimes longer chats with my daughter or other guests as we follow ideas wherever they lead. No scripts, just curiosity, conversation, and seeing where it goes. If it makes you think, laugh, or see life a little differently, I am grateful.

Impossible Things | A Rabbit Hole Parasol Allegoric Apologue

What makes something impossible? Is it the evidence against it? The absence of evidence for it? The limits of what we currently understand? Or simply the fact that, for the moment, we don't know how it could be true? In Impossible Things, an ordinary evening takes an unexpected turn when a broken printer, a sketchbook, and a family conversation wander into one deceptively simple question: How do we know when something is actually impossible? From things humanity once thought couldn't be done to the strange, unexplained, improbable, and occasionally ridiculous, this Rabbit Hole Parasol Allegoric Apologue explores the uncomfortable territory between believing everything and dismissing everything. Because “I don't know” isn't always the absence of an answer. Sometimes it's the beginning of a much better question. 🐇☂️ Rabbit Hole Parasol Stories A Rabbit Hole Parasol Allegoric Apologue ☕ Support Rabbit Hole Parasol on Buy Me a Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/RHP8N8 🕳️ Explore the Rabbit Hole Parasol collection on Gumroad: https://rabbitholeparasol.gumroad.com/ Original story created for Rabbit Hole Parasol. Rabbit Hole Parasol Stories — A Rabbit Hole Parasol Allegoric Apologue: Enough for Some Things

What makes someone—or something—worthy of our trust? Is it what they are? Whether they’re human? Whether they’re real? Or is trust something built much more slowly, through what happens from one interaction to the next? “Enough for Some Things” is a Rabbit Hole Parasol Allegoric Apologue: a fictional story built around a very real question. This episode of Rabbit Hole Parasol Stories will be released Friday, October 2, 2026 at 10:00 PM. Rabbit Hole Parasol Stories take real-world events, research, history, oddities, and uncomfortable questions and turn them into original fictional narratives—not to tell you what to think, but to leave you with something worth thinking about. This particular rabbit hole started with a joke I saw online about a generation that grew up perfectly comfortable trusting frogs, pigs, counting vampires, grouches in garbage cans, and all manner of obviously fictional characters—yet often finds itself deeply suspicious of the very real people and artificial systems talking to us today. From there came a much bigger question: Maybe trust was never about whether something was real at all. The fictional story was inspired by several real-world threads involving artificial personalities, audience trust, hidden motives, responsibility, and the strange ways human beings form relationships with characters, institutions, people, and machines. Across the Burrow — A cozy place for cards, conversation, and curiosity.

Welcome to Across the Burrow. This episode comes from a real, unscripted reading with a friend who asked me to record it for the podcast. What you’re hearing is the conversation and the reading exactly as they happened. You’ll hear birds in the background from her end of the conversation. And because Rabbit Hole Parasol is unedited—just like real life—I left them right where they were. No studio polish. No cleaned-up version. Just the cards, the conversation, the questions, the occasional rabbit hole, and whatever wandered into the recording along the way. Everything here stays free and open to everyone. What you hear is what everybody hears—there’s no extra version of the Rabbit Hole hidden behind a paywall. If you’d like to support the chaos, you can literally buy me a cup of coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/RHP8N8 Wander over to the Rabbit Hole Parasol Shop: https://rabbitholeparasol.gumroad.com/ That’s where the books, printables, weird little projects, and whatever else crawled out of my brain eventually end up. No purchase or tip is ever required. The doors are open. Come on in. CI™ — Collaborative Intelligence Human envisioned. Intelligently combined. Rabbit Hole Parasol Stories — A Rabbit Hole Parasol Allegoric Apologue: Crime Before a Crime

Crime Before A Crime What happens when a system doesn’t accuse you of committing a crime—but decides the circumstances of your life make one more likely? Rabbit Hole Parasol Stories: Allegoric Apologues are fictionalized explorations inspired by real-world events, current issues, historical patterns, social questions, emerging technologies, and the places those things might lead us if we follow the rabbit hole a little farther. They aren’t meant to tell you what to think. They’re meant to take a question, turn it into a story, and leave you with something worth thinking about when the story is over. Crime Before a Crime explores the idea of prevention before wrongdoing—what can happen when systems designed to protect people begin making decisions based not only on what someone has done, but on what patterns, circumstances, and probabilities suggest they might do. The rabbit hole underneath this story is real. The idea grew out of an earlier Rabbit Hole Parasol investigation into U.S. Border Patrol’s Predictive Intelligence Targeting Teams, or PITT, along with reporting on license-plate surveillance, travel-pattern analysis, financial information, predictive intelligence, and the increasing ability of government systems to connect pieces of a person’s life that once would have existed separately. PITT itself is not established as an AI “pre-crime” system. Crime Before a Crime takes those real-world developments and pushes them forward into a fictional future to ask a very Rabbit Hole Parasol kind of question: What happens if we keep going? The real-world reporting and documents that helped inspire this story are linked below. No Crime Required

No Crime Required What happens when law enforcement starts looking before there’s even a crime to investigate? In this episode of Rabbit Hole Parasol, we go down the rabbit hole of PITT — Predictive Intelligence Targeting Teams, a little-known U.S. Border Patrol intelligence operation inside DHS. Recent reporting has revealed that PITT analysts can use financial activity, criminal-history information, travel patterns, license-plate data, and other intelligence to identify people for closer attention — sometimes before they are suspected of any specific crime. One case exposed how a federal analyst flagged a man’s financial activity as resembling patterns associated with narcotics trafficking, passed that information to state police, and helped put his vehicle on law enforcement’s radar before an ordinary traffic stop ever happened. But how much of this is actually “predictive policing”? Is AI involved? Where does the financial information come from? How many people are being flagged? How long has this been happening? And what happens when a system finds a suspicious pattern but doesn’t understand the context behind it? We look at what is confirmed, what is still unknown, PITT’s documented history back to 2017, predictive license-plate surveillance, “whisper stops,” financial privacy, and the constitutional questions raised when data creates suspicion before a crime creates probable cause. No conclusions required. No political script. Just the documents, the reporting, the rabbit holes — and one very uncomfortable question: How much suspicion can be created when no crime is required? So… When Did This Become Normal?

I started with one question and ended up somewhere deeper than expected. This isn’t conspiracy, and it’s not nothing either. We’re talking AI, Social Security, bank account checks, and how systems don’t jump—they shift. Quietly. Piece by piece. What’s actually happening, what’s always been there, and where this could go if nobody’s really paying attention.

George Washington 1753

This podcast, although not related to the Constitution, is a personal journal entry made by Major George Washington at the age of 21, who was tasked with delivering a letter to the French Commander from the Governor of Virginia. This is his account of the journey. I have to say, this was never covered in my history class.

1st January 1813

New interest of mine that I am falling in love with. This is the first of the series of Diaries and Journals from History. This is my first time reading one of these and let me tell you, some of the stuff I read in here was a bit unbelievable and funny. I also learned a few things that I never learned in school. I love that it came from someone who was actually there and didn't have need or reason to change the narrative. I hope you enjoy. Please share if you do and feel free to leave comments or suggestions. I will leave the link to where you can find this particular diary and others if you discover that you enjoy them as much as I do or you can continue to just let me read them to you. If you have any suggestions as to where I can find more of this type of content free to the public please let me know. As always I hope you are living your most Beautifully Eclectic life and Blessed Be! https://thedrlucasdiaries.wordpress.com/

In honor of those who sacrificed some or all for the life and freedoms that we all have now I thought I would read to you some excerpts from various correspondence from a few individuals that served.
