Bold Moves Podcast Episode 355 Brian Crooks
Welcome to Bold Moves Podcast Episode 355 Brian Crooks. In light of current uprisings seeking justice for Black men in the US being murdered by police who are unpunished, I did not feel comfortable sharing the podcast episode I had set aside for today. It seemed callous and tone deaf to share the story of a vivacious White woman living her best life (though I look forward to it someday, when it’s more appropriate!). I also didn’t want to ask a Black person to be a resource and potentially open deep wounds for White people. Regardless, Brian offered to come on the podcast to share his story and his experiences with being a Black man in America. I think we can all agree during this time, that in itself is a bold move.
Today, Brian joins us to provide some insight and first-hand experience. I hope if you are wanting to learn more or understand the struggles that have been going on, then you’ll enjoy Bold Moves Podcast Episode 355 Brian Crooks!
This podcast is on all the best places like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Stitcher! It is also available in the post below! If you enjoy these episodes, subscribe, review, and share to help us reach more people!

For this challenge, Kerrian provided a little insight:
“Choosing Before Doing” Exercise:
Exercise is meant to help someone clearly identify what are their core values to ensure the choices/actions they take are aligned to how they really want their life to be vs. the traditional external goal-orientation. They’re not mutually exclusive, but when someone operates from alignment to their internal values, how they go about their external goals may be very different.
Couple things to note when someone does this exercise:
They should pick core values from things they want to Manifest vs. Avoid (e.g., someone might first put down Harmony, but it’s driven more from the fact that they want to avoid confrontation vs. embody Harmony as one of their true life objectives.)
Some values they identify may be things that are life long drivers, but others may be critical priorities in the here and now. It’s ok if they do this exercise a year from now and some have shifted – it’s part of the evolution process.
If you’re looking for a read from a different point of view potentially, we’re still reading Eloquent Rage by Brittney Cooper, in our online book club so come join us! For more info, go here! Spending this time in quarantine educating ourselves can only be better in the long run.
I hope you got some value from this challenge, and if so and you want to help support the show here’s a great list of suggestions: Share the show on social media, join our book club group, or purchase one of my books (below).
Updated
