This week I give an update on the #CryptoClassAction Crypto Class Action in Australia and why the case that Epic Games brought against Apple, also in Australia, matters to us. It's been a long time since we had anything to report but I'll explain why the case is moving again. Not only did Epic sue Apple in the US, they sued in Australia, and that might just help us! I also give a little description of the IAF passing out parade and air show I was at on Thursday. Wow.

Last night I did a marathon two hour livestream with @taskmaster4450 and @jongolson talking all about Podping and Hive. It was epic. I played a few clips from some other podcasts, that didn't work out so well as I can hear now on playback but I'll put links to the real clips below. While we were talking I received a number of big votes on the funding proposal I have on the DHR for which I'm hugely grateful. Those put me passed the return proposal and a few minutes after the end, another one of the whales tipped me above the DHF buy back so the Podping proposal is now funded. The point of the funding proposal is not just about money: I've detailed what I'm going to do with that and almost all of it is staying on Hive and much of it will be powered up. The other thing it does is showcase to a non Hive audience of developers and influential people in the Podcast industry, that Hive supports this project and that is hugely valuable. It didn’t happen because it’s been postponed. Google is eating everybody else’s lunch. The share of Advertising revenue that Google passes back to the content owners whose content their entire business is built on the back of, has steadily gone down. This was deliberate and they knew what they were doing. That graph is explained in the following footnote and you can read more about the paper from which it is taken at this link: In Google’s annual 10-K SEC filings, Google breaks down its advertising revenue as going to “Google properties” or “web sites of Google Network members.” The term “Google Network members” refers to non-Google websites on which Google places advertising. In its 2017 10-K, Google explains that it generally accounts for third-party revenue on a gross basis: “For ads placed on Google Network Members’ properties, we evaluate whether we are the principal (i.e., report revenues on a gross basis) or agent (i.e., report revenues on a net ba- sis). Generally, we report advertising revenues for ads placed on Google Net- work Members’ properties on a gross basis, that is, the amounts billed to our customers are recorded as revenues, and amounts paid to Google Network Members are recorded as cost of revenues. Adam Curry points out that Advertising IS Censorship. The only way to get uncensored content you want is to directly support the content creators who are making it. That’s what Podcasting 2.0 is all about and really, when it manages to decentralise the transfer of value from listeners (or producers) to the content creators, it will have become Podcasting 3.0. I’ve been a bit lapse at updating my podcast feed. You may have missed some episodes here but everything I do does wind up on my 3speak account. Here is yesterday’s video and podcast. I started off with the recipe for my whole lamb shoulder, cooked on my now fairly old Weber charcoal BBQ. I love that thing. You take: juice from two lemons; half a cup of olive oil; good strong mustard; a whole load of fresh rosemary (this grows wild in my neighbourhood); salt and pepper. Take your shoulder of lamb, cut little holes and insert a whole lot of piece of cloves of garlic. Try to see that the garlic will sit under the skin and fat. Then you rub the marinade all over the meat and put it in a giant bag. Try not to puncture the bag with the sharp bone of the lamb! Shoulder of lamb marinading in a bag I left the lamb in the fridge for around a day and a half but took it out at least four hours before cooking. Putting fridge cold meat directly on the BBQ is a big no-no! Raw lamb before putting it on the BBQ I light the BBQ using a Weber chimney (google this magic device). After about 30 minutes I’ve got a central hot zone big enough for the whole piece of meat and I put the lamb with the major fatty side down on the BBQ. Pretty quickly I get flame flare ups which is exactly what I want. I use the lid of the BBQ to moderate the flames but I’m looking to blacken the outside of the meat. Lamb shoulder for Pessach on BBQ About 5 to 8 minutes per side got it to how I wanted it. Blackened side of lamb with flames and smoke on the BBQ After that I transferred the lamb to my large roasting tray and left it to cook. I use the Weber iGrill thermo-probes and was looking for about 60? internal temp. It actually got there quicker than I was expecting within about an hour for this 2.5kg piece. The grill was showing about 200?. After that I took it off, let it rest under a foil cover and carved it. Shoulders aren’t that easy to carve but everything that came off was delicious and tender. And after all that, I talked about Covid19 and Coronavirus in Israel and asked whether we’ve gone too far flattening the curve here in Israel?

I was up in the north of Israel, just a few kms from the border with Lebanon. I have no idea what the two explosions I heard were. They may well have been from somewhere up on the Golan Heights. First up it’s Trump and Jared Kushner’s Deal of the Century for Israel and the Palestinians. I started a long thread about this which you can find here. The very first page gave me this post about the understanding of Islamic Jihad that is missing from this plan. The deal isn’t really a deal, as Melanie Phillips points out, it’s an ultimatum. After that I talk a bit about Brexit day as the UK formerly left he EU at 11pm UK time on 31st of January 2020. For other good reading on Trump’s Deal, I recommend this piece by Melanie Phillips: But the plan states the all-important historical truth denied by the Palestinians because it vitiates their entire claim to the land — that Jerusalem was the political center of the Jewish people under King David, and has remained their spiritual center and the focus of their religious beliefs for nearly 3,000 years. The Trump plan won’t bring peace; however, it restores the truth and justice that are essential prerequisites of peace. Crushing the lethal and poisonous fantasies about Israel and the Jewish people, as well as taking a hard-headed approach to Palestinian intentions, it replaces illusions by reality. If you want a tremendous (but long) read on something that could actually work I suggest you study this plan: The Two-STAGE Solution to the Arab-Israel Conflict. I’m going to have more to say about this in future videos. “Antisemitism is a chronic illness that, when it flares up, eats away at the mind of those it infects, and destroys the hater more thoroughly than the hated. It can be cured, or at least controlled.
