C-90 is a collection of songs whose melodies, chord sequences and, in some cases, arrangements, Dave Egan recorded onto cassette tapes, mainly C-90s, back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s or, to put it another way, Circa - 1990. This was done either by way of bouncing from one cassette recorder to another or, later, using a four track recorder. On reflection, the original lyrics for these songs were no longer particularly relatable to Dave and so he rewrote them to create a juxtaposition of today’s lyrics on Circa '90’s music and a middle aged man’s words superimposed on a young man’s melodies.Scroll to the bottom for Track 1 Hosted on Acast. My Lowest Tide

Episode in C-90
Track 12 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: My Lowest Tide I was standing by the water when I first realised That just a step beneath the water and troubles never rise I was cold and lonely and I, I cried: My lowest tide I was standing by the water when I first saw the light That death was just below the water where jilted lovers dive I was cold and low but I survived My lowest tide 'Cos everybody changes, everybody changes now You will too, cos everybody changes now I was young and I was green You are too but everybody changes now You just need to find your feet You’ll pull through, ‘cos everybody changes now I was cold and low and now I know My lowest tide is over now Be free Hosted on Acast. To Watch and Wonder

Episode in C-90
Track 11 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: To Watch and Wonder To watch and wonder is such a weight on my mind and I Never realised you could  Cry with anger and wield your pain like a knife and I Need a little time to be free The sacred slaughter of all that’s good in your life is fine So long as you can find in your Search for water, to tame the fire and to taste the wine And find a little time to be free Hosted on Acast. Someone

Episode in C-90
Track 10 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Someone Somewhere there’s a place I can go, so that everybody knows I am somewhere Sometimes I can hide from the me that I don’t need to be even sometimes Somedays I am scared I might find that I’m not in your mind even somedays Something makes me say what I fear so that everyone can hear me say something Forever young, forever hot, forever not, forever pacified Forever young, forever hot, forever not, forever pacified Someone somewhere’s following me so everyone can see I am someone Somehow I have opened the door to live forever more, maybe somehow Forever young, forever hot, forever not, forever pacified (Forever believe its true) Forever young, forever hot, forever not, forever pacified (You know we believe it too) Hosted on Acast. Fire and Steam

Episode in C-90
Track 9 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Fire and Steam She draws me in with siren’s thrall She wraps me up to seal my fall She knows my longings as she grows my fears She feeds on lust washed down with tears She casts emotion (she reels me in) No competition (fools seldom win) Spews ammunition (and so death begins) Of rage and deception With fire and steam she has brought us to extremes She has torn out our hearts. Now we’re worlds apart… we are worlds apart. She tracks my footsteps and my every key She sits on (watches) every page I see She gives me comfort in echoic room As she tells her master of his doom She leaves me wrestling (she feels me writhe) In spun threads of emotion (to its source she climbs) With slow evisceration (she bleeds me dry)    She bleeds me for her potion With fire and steam she has brought us to our knees Yet we still feel the need to be hirelings at her feet Hosted on Acast. Don't

Episode in C-90
Track 8 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Don't Julie needs a friend to help But those who can she cannot tell Julies home alone Suffocating in its love Don’t shut me off from you don’t say that you’re not mine Don’t cut my heart in two don’t tell me you are fine Julie glides on steel Just to prove the cold is real She skates a frozen Baysville pool I pray to god she won’t fall through Don’t shut me off from you don’t say that you’re not mine Don’t cut my heart in two don’t tell me you are fine If you could hear what would I say? D’you recall the time we had when stupid games we’d play? And could you answer if I prayed? Give it up, give it up, give it up, please Don’t shut me off from you don’t say that you’re not mine Don’t cut my heart in two don’t tell me you are fine Don’t shut me off from you don’t say that you’re not mine Don’t cut my heart in two don’t tell me you are fine You're not fine Hosted on Acast. Shining Like the Sun

Episode in C-90
Track 7 from the Album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics Shining Like the Sun Too many dreams had come & gone for us to say this was the one So many lights had died yet through the darkest clouds we saw you come Shining like the sun, shining like the sun. Too many times we talked of war with only battles others won So many times we have been blinded to this perfect light you’ve shone Shining like the sun, shining like the sun. After all we’re just shadows of the ones we used to be When I close my eyes our past is sometimes all that I can see But open wide and futurelight comes pouring over me Over me, over me Shining like the sun, shining like the sun Hosted on Acast. Beautiful Monster

Episode in C-90
Track 6 from the Album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Beautiful Monster Julie had a dream about a monster It had tracked her down for a year or two She’d hide for a while and he’d hunt down to find, And every time she’d run, he’d follow after Julie was so scared she cared for nothing Broke down and cried with a friend who knew Of all her fractious fears and while washing off her tears She told her about her stupid monster: “Hey Julie, there’s just hope in his head You’ll see the hunger in his eyes is just to be with you And the claws of his fingertips are to protect you from your foe So don’t run, take his hand He’s beautiful” Julie knew she had to face the monster I guess she knew she’d nothing left to lose And if he ripped and heaved To take the final breath she breathed At least she knew she wouldn’t have to “Hey Julie, there’s just hope in his head You’ll see the hunger in his eyes is just to be with you And the claws of his fingertips are to protect you from your foe So don’t run, take his hand He’s beautiful” Hosted on Acast. Usaha

Episode in C-90
Track 5 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Usaha Usaha & I never saw eye to eye I never dreamed that I’d be seen to be beholden to your charms And I never tried to stem the tide And I, eye to eye, skin to skin Face to face all cause to win Side by side we lie. Usaha and I Never saw eye to eye With all my dreams of liberty I didn’t mean to get drunk upon your love And I never stopped to question why And I, eye to eye, skin to skin Face to face all cause to win Side by side we lie We lie and we lie You hypnotise your people and play upon their fears Tell your fools their dreams are true and black is white Whisper to their feelings, cast away their tears Sell the sun ‘til day is done and don’t ask why… Hosted on Acast. Really Coming Down

Episode in C-90
Track 4 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Really Coming Down Hey it’s really coming down… I really thought the rain clouds would have thinned by now But it seems the gods have still got tears to cry There’s a roll of thunder in the Western sky As we cower underneath the shade of vines I really thought by now we would be out of it But it seems the fates have still got more to give Like a clash of wavelengths in a minor key As our glasses chime to drown disharmony, it can be hard to see that Even though there’s darkness cross the sky Honey you know we’ve been through worse before and we’re still alive ‘Cos we’re in this thing for the long run and we won’t give up ‘til the rain is done And it won’t be long, if we’ll both be strong, ’til we sip under sunnier skies I didn’t know the world we’ve worked so hard to make Could work its ways to make things seem so hard Maybe it’s the minor in a major key whose choral resolution is our destiny, well we soon will see ‘cos Even though there’s lightning in the sky Honey you know this plane has seen much worse yet still we fly Cos we’re in this thing for the long run and we will not sleep ‘til the day is done If we’ll both be strong then it won’t be long ’til we’re sipping under sunnier skies We’ll be stepping into the sunshine, pushing on to the best of times If we’ll both be strong then it won’t be long ’til we’re sipping under sunnier skies Hosted on Acast. Weeping Willow

Episode in C-90
Track 3 from the album C-90 Lyrics: Weeping Willow Oh how different the days when you’d listen in faith to every word I would say How soon the pictures you made would be drawn in the shade of your blossoming rage You’d come round in a whirl of sequins and of paint And now your tables turn with passages of pain I am I am your weeping willow I am the pictures on your wall I am the teardrops on your pillow And I know you don’t heed me anymore You were once but a child with a tear in your eye and a thirst for our lies Now the truth that you seek is the cause of the meek and the hurt of their cries You long to pave the world with justice and with rights And as your passions whirl no touch can reach your cries I am I am your weeping willow I am the pictures on your wall I am the teardrops on your pillow And I know you don’t heed me anymore Hosted on Acast. Wonderful Life

Episode in C-90
Track 2 from C-90 Lyrics: Wonderful Life Take me away on the breeze, my loves if you please From a world that gives nothing to a fool who believes Carry me off to a day where Philotes’ reigns Where the sweat of the blessed is humanity’s gain And humanity’s gain, through the veil of philosophy, Rides the Rawlian waves from the shores of Bernays’ belle epoque Its a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful life Its a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful life Phineas gave man a gauge for to measure his ways To being served by emotions but being never their slave Fashion a world for me now that gives thought to the hows, To the whys and wonders that conspire to confound That conspire to confound against Galton’s autocracy Ceding Spensoric ground to the dreams of some foolish sociocrat Hosted on Acast. Time to Move Away

Episode in C-90
Track 1 from the album C-90 by Dave Egan Lyrics: Time to Move Away Julie had a dream that she lived within a picture Of colours and brushstrokes clear She lived among reds and greens and blues Weaving lines of rich and varied views She was scarred and scared when she learned That her loved and precious painting was slowly fading in sunlights’ glare She packed her bags and walked away Into a sunset just turned to grey Its time to move away There’s nothing left to say Julie found another home in another picture Of charcoals, all shades of grey One day she pulled the blinds and got such a shock Black and white lines was all she got Its time to move away There’s nothing left to say And so she flees the dying skies In search of form and colour Wishing that sun would emerge from rain once again That summer smiles emerge from tears… Its time to move away There’s nothing left to say Concession can’t be saved There is no grey, its time to move away Its time to move away There’s nothing left to say Nuance has found its grave The birdbrains made it time to move away Hosted on Acast. STAY WEIRD. Updated
