Episode 4 : Minutes of Wisdom with Emotional Intelligence

Hello and welcome to “Studio Carry On Harry in association with Balle Balle Radio Broadcast – Minutes of Wisdom”, the podcast where we share practical tips and strategies for personal development. I’m your host Mike, and in this episode, we’ll be talking about Emotional Intelligence.   Emotional Intelligence, or EI, is the ability to recognize and manage one’s own emotions, as well as being able to understand and respond appropriately to the emotions of others. It’s an essential skill for success in both personal and professional relationships, and it can help us navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience. But what exactly is EI, and why is it important? EI is made up of several different skills, including self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Together, these skills help us understand and manage our own emotions, communicate effectively with others, and build strong, meaningful relationships. So, how can we develop our EI and become more emotionally intelligent individuals? Here are some key tips: Start by becoming more self-aware. This means paying attention to your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and being honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses. Practice self-regulation. This means being able to control your own emotions and impulses, even in challenging situations. One effective way to do this is through mindfulness meditation, which can help you develop greater emotional resilience and self-control. Cultivate empathy. This means being able to understand and feel for others, even when you don’t necessarily agree with them. One way to develop empathy is by actively listening to others and trying to see things from their perspective.   Develop your social skills. This means being able to communicate effectively with others, build rapport, and establish meaningful relationships. One effective way to do this is by practicing active listening, giving and receiving feedback, and expressing yourself clearly and confidently. Finally, make EI a priority in your daily life. This means being intentional about practicing the skills we’ve discussed, and seeking out opportunities to develop your emotional intelligence. Remember, developing emotional intelligence is a lifelong journey, and it’s something that we can all work on and improve over time. By becoming more self-aware, regulating our emotions, cultivating empathy, and developing our social skills, we can become more emotionally intelligent individuals, and build stronger, more meaningful relationships with those around us. That’s all for today’s episode of “Studio Carry On Harry in association with Balle Balle Radio Broadcast – Minutes of Wisdom”. We hope you found these tips helpful and inspiring. Don’t forget to share your experiences and feedback with us. Thanks for tuning in, and until next time, keep striving to develop your emotional intelligence!

Episode 3 : Minutes of Wisdom Goal Setting and Time Management.

Hello and welcome to “Studio Carry On Harry in association with Balle Balle Radio Broadcast – Minutes of Wisdom”, the podcast where we share practical tips and strategies for personal development. I’m your host Mike, and in this episode, we’ll be talking about Goal Setting and Time Management.     Have you ever set a goal for yourself, only to find yourself struggling to achieve it? Maybe you lost motivation or got distracted by other things. Or perhaps you didn’t manage your time effectively, and ended up feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. Whatever the reason, setting clear and achievable goals, and managing your time effectively are essential skills for success in any area of life. So, let’s start with the basics – what is goal setting and why is it important? Goal setting is the process of identifying what you want to achieve and creating a plan to make it happen. It’s important because it gives you a sense of direction and purpose, and helps you stay focused on what’s truly important.   But setting goals is only half the battle. You also need to manage your time effectively to achieve those goals. Time management is the process of planning and organizing how much time you spend on various activities, in order to achieve your goals efficiently. Here are some key tips for effective goal setting and time management: Start with a clear vision of what you want to achieve. Be specific and make sure your goals are measurable and achievable. For example, instead of setting a goal to “lose weight”, set a goal to “lose 10 pounds in 3 months”. Break down your goals into smaller, manageable tasks. This will make them less overwhelming and easier to achieve. For example, if your goal is to write a book, break it down into smaller tasks like “write one chapter per week”. Prioritize your tasks based on their importance and urgency. Use a to-do list or a planner to help you stay organized and focused. Eliminate distractions and focus on one task at a time. This will help you work more efficiently and get more done in less time. Finally, be flexible and willing to adjust your plan as needed. Life is unpredictable, and sometimes you may need to change course to stay on track. Remember, setting clear and achievable goals and managing your time effectively are skills that can be learned and developed with practice. By following these tips and staying committed to your goals, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. That’s all for today’s episode of “Studio Carry On Harry in association with Balle Balle Radio Broadcast – Minutes of Wisdom”. We hope you found these tips helpful and inspiring. Don’t forget to share your experiences and feedback with us. Thanks for tuning in, and until next time, keep striving for your goals!

The Domi, a solo (but not solitary) project, resolutely pop and rock

In 2008, Dominique Lemaire (songwriter, performer) founded the group Énée with Yann Drezet (guitar, lead) and Sylvain Jouet (bass). The group released two EPs, an album and several singles, for more than twenty-five titles in total. The music of énée met with a warm reception from the public and great repercussions in the specialized press (Les Inrockuptibles, France Culture, Indie Rock Mag, Le Transistor, among others). A very encouraging dynamic which allowed a signature with two labels for international distribution (Hebra Records, in Belgium; Savage Jaw Records, in Phoenix, USA) and stages throughout France (Zénith de Montpellier, Bus Palladium Montpellier, La Java , Issy-les-Moulineaux Festival, Bellevilloise). Today, in parallel with the group Énée, Dominique Lemaire creates The Domi, a solo (but not solitary) project, resolutely pop and rock, made of short and incisive songs. The Domi expresses itself in a minimal register, mixing emotion and melody, with a no-frills rhythm machine, a flexible and warm bass, aerial guitars and a direct and lively vocals. The second track, “Together”, is about life together with its ups and downs, hope and new beginnings. Influenced by the music of The Strokes, the tracks of The Domi oscillate between atmospheric pop and minimal rock, inspired by Radiohead, Blonde Redhead, Deus, Pixies, Ghinzu, Get Well Soon and Grandaddy. “Together” is the second single from an EP currently being recorded, due for release in 2022. http://www.carryonharry.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/The-domi-together.mp3

Talk Show Carry On Harry : California Singer Songwriter Music Performer Brigitte Purdy

Born and raised in Los Angeles at very young age , Brigitte Purdy has expressed the great desire to become a singer, with a particular inclination to soul, blues and R&B. It didn’t take too long for the American singer and songwriter, to expand her fan base internationally through her passion for music. Her have the ability to sing is something that many of us are naturally gifted from a very early age. Very few individuals, though, are able to connect such ability to their own emotions and translate them into singing and songwriting.  Brigitte Rios Purdy has felt that need to sing about her own inner feelings and emotions since she was a child. Born and raised in Los Angeles Brigitte Purdy has soon expressed the great desire to become a singer, with a particular inclination to soul, blues and R&B. It didn’t take too long for the American singer and songwriter, thanks to her pure and silky singing voice, to be noted and asked to perform on the same stage with artists like Walter Trout, Sugaray Rayford, Tim Bogart Dionne Warwick, and Dolly Parton amongst others. Singing background vocals for such artists as The Who and Paul Rodgers.  Once the ice of the music business was broken, Brigitte Rios Purdy’s next step into connecting completely with music at 360 degrees was starting to write her own songs. Her profound, love and admiration for the late great B.B. King pushed the American artist to compose her very first song called Lucille, Don’t You Weep, a blues ballad with clear references to King’s most favorite guitar and the intensity of the sound coming from one of the most famous blues guitars of all time.
