There are also a few interesting suggestions for future people to focus on in the future, one of which leaves Pete speechless. If you would like to get in touch you can join in the discussion of all things related to action movies on the Facebook Group or you can follow Bags of Action on Twitter @BagsofAction. Grouchy Old Geeks Episode 1
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
Welcome to Grouchy Old Geeks, a monthly podcast that discusses everything and anything in geek news, from the Statler and Waldorf of British podcasts hosts. Previously GoG was called Comic Book Outsiders, and we've been podcasting for 9 years. We decided a rebrand and refresh was in order to reflect how the show has changed over the years. This episode Steve and Scott start off with some TV, film and comic book news, then we revisit a favourite section, called Challenge Scott, but with a twist. For our main feature we discuss the Image comic, Saga, by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. If you would like to get in touch with the show you can email us at grouchyoldgeeks@gmail.com, you can find our Facebook at www.grouchyoldgeeks.com or you can follow us on Twitter @SteveAryan and @ScottGrandison

The Mechanic - Bags of Action Episode 31
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode Steve and Pete talk about The Mechanic from 2011 starring Jason Statham. As it turns out, neither of us knew, this film was a remake.
This film turned out to be not what either host was expecting. Both are fans of Statham and yet somehow this was their first time they'd done a film with him in the lead.
Pete shares some knowledge on the background of the film, its heritage, and its connection to Cannon films.

Creed - Bags of Action Episode 30
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode Steve and Pete visit the cinema, at different times and in different cities, to see the film Creed. It was released in 2015 in the USA and early 2016 in the UK.
This is the latest film in the Rocky franchise, that seemed to have concluded with Rocky Balboa, but a young filmmaker called Ryan Coogler pitched and idea and it was eventually developed into this film.
Both Steve and Pete are big fans of the Rocky franchise and both were very happy with its apparent conclusion with Rocky Balboa. So will Creed be able to live up to the legacy? Will it be a complete reboot or does it pay respect to what has come before it?

Scott and Steve dedicate almost the entire episode to talking about the recently released Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There are LOTS OF SPOILERS! We give several warnings as well during the episode, so do not listen to this episode just yet, unless you don't mind lots of spoilers about the new Star Wars film.

Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In the previous episode, Steve gave Pete three flavours of Liam Neeson and he chose Run All Night from 2015. Neither he or Steve has seen the film before so they are both coming to it fresh.
Our next film very soon will be another cinema outing of Creed. So get in touch if you've seen it for our February episode.

Comic Book Outsiders
Welcome to Comic Book Outsiders, a comic book podcast dedicated to bringing you the very best hidden gems from the worlds of comic books, films, TV and everything else.
This is our last episode of 2015, so it ended up being a general news episode where we talked about some of the great things due in 2016 as well as recent comic book related TV. We also both highlight one of our favourite things from this year and talk about the new age of geekdom and whether the comic book movie bubble is going to burst.

Bloodsport - Bags of Action Episode 28
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode, Pete chooses one of old favourites, a film he has seen dozens of times, Bloodsport from 1988 starring JCVD. But will it stand up to the test of time? And what will Steve think, having not seen it in many, many years?
This episode was supposed to be Creed but unfortunately it doesn't come out in the UK until January, so we hope to do it for our Jan or Feb episode.

Rocky - Bags of Action Episode 27
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode, Steve is back and is joined by his co-host from Comic Book Outsiders, Scott! This is another science experiment episode as Scott has never seen the film we're discussing this episode, the 1976 classic, Rocky. Scott ha s seen other Rocky films in the franchise, including Rocky Balboa, but never the original.
The screenplay for Rocky, written by Stallone, went on to win three Oscars and it spawned multiple sequels of different quality, which seemingly wrapped up the franchise with Rocky Balboa in 2006. Or so we thought, until this year in November, there is a potential sequel or spin-off, called Creed.
We discuss Scott's impressions of Rocky and how he thought the franchise would develop, as well as the other films plus out thoughts on Creed. Most of the episode though is focused on the original Rocky.

Cobra - Bags of Action Episode 26
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode, Steve returns and together with Pete they discuss the 1986 Stallone movie, Cobra.
Steve has never seen this film before, but Pete is a veteran, having now seen it three times. The film was adapted from a novel and the screenplay written by Stallone. There are quite a few familiar faces in this film, including Brigitte Nielson, in an early role, Andrew Robinson, and Brian Thompson, the man who has been in practically every SFF film and TV show from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, to Alien Nation, to Star Trek, to The Terminator, to Charmed to The X-Files.

Comic Book Outsiders Episode 176
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
Welcome to Comic Book Outsiders, a comic book podcast dedicated to bringing you the very best hidden gems from the worlds of comic books, films, TV and everything else.
This episode we talk about some of the latest news and our recent experiences at Nine Worlds, Scott's trip to Mos Eisley with Secret Cinema, Disney's plans for the future and what Paramount might be cooking up in celebration of a special 50th anniversary next year. Steve also mentions the release of his first novel, Battlemage, and plans for some UK signing events later this month.
For our main feature we talk about TV shows that were cancelled too soon, what we liked about them and where we imagine the shows could have gone in later seasons or even episodes, for those cut down very early in their run.

Aliens - Bags of Action Episode 25
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode, Scott Grandison (Comic Book Outsiders, Crash Landing) is standing in for Steve to talk about the James Cameron classic, Aliens.
Shockingly Pete has never seen it before, so you get to find out what he thought of it first time around and compare that to Scott's opinion of a film he knows inside and out. Next month Steve returns to the hot seat and he'll also be experiencing a film that most people would assume he's already seen. Listen to the end of the show to find out what that is.

Comic Book Outsiders Episode 175
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
Welcome to Comic Book Outsiders, a comic book podcast dedicated to bringing you the very best hidden gems from the worlds of comic books, films, TV and everything else.
This episode is our 175th, so we decided to do something a bit different. Normally we plan the episode in advance, make notes and have different sections planned out. This episode we did nothing. We did no planning, we made no notes at all. We also invited onto the show a special co-host, Barry Nugent, from Geek Syndicate.
We let the conversation flow where it wants and it turned out to be an interesting three way discussion about a whole host of different topics.

Predator: Dark Ages and Kung Fury - Bags of Action Episode 24
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode, Gavin Jones (Sidekickcast) is standing in for Steve for a fan film special.
Pete and Gav discuss Predator: Dark Ages and Kung Fury, two recently crowd funded films that are now available on youtube. Each film is about thirty minutes long and the guys decided to rewatch them as they recorded the show together and in person, which gives the episode a somewhat unusual feel. How do these shorter, labour of loves compare to bigger full length films?
Listen out for a shock revelation from Pete about a film he's never seen, he'll be rectifying that next month for the good of the show!

Salt - Bags of Action Episode 23
Episode in
Comic Book Outsiders
This is Bags of Action. The podcast is devoted to action movies, both old and new, but all of them awesome! In this episode, we discuss the 2010 film Salt, starring Angelina Jolie.
This is the second time both Steve and Pete have watched the film but they've both forgotten various bits so there are surprises along the way for them. The film also stars Liev Shreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor and even a brief appearance by the awesome Andre Braugher.
For the next couple of episodes there's going to be a bit of a change to the show, but you will have to listen for the details, but we will be continuing on our regular monthly schedule.
