HOW TO LET GO OF THE PAST
We all have some experience of pain or suffering at some point in our lives. Some people may still be holding onto a memory from years and years ago and it is now becoming part of their identity and how they Define themselves.
Often times these can be negative experiences which can create lasting fear, anxiety or phobias. Thankfully these are things that we can overcome by creating new empowering associations.
So what does it take to let go of these experiences?
Demonize the habit or behavior that dwelling on the past creates. Get absolutely clear on why you must get over this situation. Make it so bad in your own mind that your brain works on doing whatever it can to move on.
Create a vision in your mind of how amazing life would be if you can just let go and be free. Think of all the pleasure you would get by overcoming your fears and breaking bad habits.
Scramble the memory and break your patterns. You can do this by reliving the memory in your mind but choosing to see it different. You can imagine humorous visuals and sounds or imagine things going differently. Be playful and silly, do whatever you need to so that you can never see things the same again. Just like scratching a record, scratch your memories, and they’ll never play the same.
The last thing I want to mention is that you can’t control the outside world and circumstances, but you can control how you react, how you think, feel and behave and that’s ultimate power. When you realize that you chose the meaning to any given situation, you are free.
The negative experiences you face can be exactly what you need in life to challenge you to grow and reach your next level. The problems you have are there so that we can grow and have more to give.

HOW TO BE POSITIVE
We hear it all the time, right? Whatever it is you want in life, all you gotta do to attain it is “be positive.” They say nothing of greatness has ever been achieved with a negative mental attitude.
What would you say? Are yoWe hu a positive person? Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist?
You probably don’t need me to tell you this, but most people would probably identify as a pessimist. Why?
It’s not hard to look around in this world and find reasons to be pessimistic. Negativity on the news every day, people losing their jobs, their homes, and their lives. We now have issues and catastrophes that affect us all on a global level. We certainly are living in tough times.
If times are so tough how come we still have people who are optimistic? Well actually if you look around, you will see that there are also plenty of things to use as evidence for our optimism. We live better today than the kings and pharaohs of our past. Every somebody defies the odds of what we previously believed to be possible, fulfilling our potential faster than ever before. New technologies, new philosophies and new ways of life that are changing the world.
There’s no doubt that somebody who is positive and optimistic will be more willing to take action to improve their situation. Anytime things go bad, the pessimist says “See I told you so, why bother?” The optimist, on the other hand, will say something along the lines of “It’s not that bad, maybe there’s still a way I can make this work!”
Notice the difference in mindset? Here are 3 ways you can become more positive and create a better life today.
Recognize what you can and can not control. One guaranteed way to be unhappy is to put all your focus and energy into things that you cannot change or influence. Somethings are just out of our control, it’s best to focus on what we can do, not what we can’t do.
Take time out of every day to be grateful for the life you have. We often lose perspective of how good we actually got it as the law of familiarity kicks in. The law says that no matter what our surroundings are we will eventually get used to it and the novelty wears off. Don’t fall into this trap.
Pursue your passions and fulfill your purpose. I’ve never met somebody who knows who they are, knows what they want out of life and know what they need to do act in a negative or pessimistic way. These people are too caught up in their mission, their vision and their goals to worry about what could go wrong. They have a why so important to them that it helps them break through any obstacles.

TIPS, TECHNIQUES & TOOLS FOR TRACKING SUCCESS
Success is interesting, isn’t it? Everybody is going after it, but not everybody has the same idea of what success means.
That being said as the great quote goes, “Success leaves clues.” If somebody else has achieved something similar to what you are trying to achieve, odds are you can too. You are just as human as they are.
So what does it take to be successful at just about anything?
What are the fundamentals that apply across the board no matter what it is you are trying to accomplish?
There are many but first and foremost it begins with daily consistent action. Small changes daily and result in big changes years down the line. That’s what Darren Hardy teaches in his book The Compound Effect. Darren also share’s another key element to achieving your goals, tracking.
Darren suggests you keep a notepad with you at all times so that you can begin to track certain habits of yours. It can be with your money, pull out the notepad every day you spend even a penny and track every expense for a week. It can be with food, every time you reach for a bite to eat, pull out your notepad and track it all.
The big idea behind tracking is it begins to reveal your unconscious behavior. You may not know how much money you spend or how much food you eat in a week until you track your every move. This also gives us the ability to make changes and be able to measure the results.
For the past few years, I have been tracking my daily habits so that I can see how well I’m doing and notice if I fall into any certain patterns. It started off with me just using a simple to-do list that I would keep with me on a piece of paper. I would mark down every time I completed a desired task or made any kind of accomplishment.
Nowadays my tracking is done digitally. I’ve used apps like Habitica and Coach.me. I would suggest either of them for keeping track of your tasks, habits, and goals.

FEAR, LIVING & FEELING UNMOTIVATED
On today’s Q&A Tuesday we got questions on fear, living and feeling unmotivated.
Let’s start with fear because it is exactly what stops people from taking any kind of action or from stepping out of their comfort zone. It is fear that stops most people from being happy. So how do we deal with fear once and for all?
Most people are in resistance with fear, meaning anytime they have fear approach their minds they start to worry and get upset. The first step to dealing with fear once and for all is to accept fear for what it is. It’s natural we all go through fear and it’s not by accident. Fear is created within us to protect us from danger.
Often times these “negative” emotions we are going through actually have a message to share with us. There is something to be learned from our fear, anxiety, depression or stress. Rather than trying to destroy fear, listen to it, what is it offering you? Once you know what it is the fear wants, why the fear is here, you can begin to replace it with something else.
What is the quickest way to shake off a bad feeling?
Move your body, negativity is in our minds. Lose your thoughts and focus on what’s going on in your body. Move, exercise, dance or play whatever you can do to break the pattern. Same goes for feeling unmotivated, step one is to move your body and break your physical pattern, step two is to shift your focus by asking yourself a new question. What do I want right now? What’s my ultimate goal and why? What can I do right now to get myself closer?
What does living mean to you?
It’s different for everyone, but if you can get clear on the essence of what life means to you, all the sudden you have a whole new level of self-awareness.

DON’T ALLOW YOUR PAST TO DICTATE WHO YOU BECOME
Do you ever get crippled by the experience of failure or loss in your past? You have dreams and goals to achieve something great or to take a chance, but you can’t seem to forget that one time in the past that brought you down.
If so, you’re not alone, this is one of the most common fears we deal with, but you don’t have to live in fear anymore.
Many of us live with the mindset of “I can’t do it, because I’ve failed in the past” or “I’ve never done that before, I have no chance.”
This mindset completely destroys any chance of future success because you’ve limited yourself from new experiences.
The people who go out into the world and achieve amazing things are those who do not dwell on their past. They recognize that whatever is done is done and we can never turn back time. They decide to live in the present and only look into the past to learn, or the future to prepare.
Just because you’ve failed once before or a million times in the past does not mean you can’t someday succeed. It can be intelligent at times to look back and learn, but to look back and create limitations is the ultimate failure.
So here’s a way to get past that. Make a list of all the things you are unhappy with or dissatisfied about your life. Make a list of all the things you want out of life, what would satisfy you or make you happy. Also, list what you believe are your strengths and your weaknesses.
When you get clear on what these things you now have the ability to act on them or change them. The best way to get over the past is to forget it and look ahead. Focus on your purpose and your passions in life. Don’t let anybody, especially yourself limit you from what you can or can’t do solely based on your past experience.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MASTER OUR MINDSET?
Everything we do starts with a mindset. There’s a mindset behind our greatest achievements and there’s a mindset behind our greatest success.
The catch is often we live life on autopilot and never take the time to recognize or understand which mindsets we’ve had that brought us success in the past and how to experience that on a consistent basis.
Those who learn to master their mindset have ultimate freedom and total control over their thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Those who neglect what’s going on in their minds experience ultimate failure meaning they will always be a victim of circumstance.
With that in mind, what do we need to know and what do we need to take action on in order to fully master our mindset and our lives?
Focus: Whatever you focus on at any given moment is going to determine how you feel and what actions you take. You can think of focus like a movie and you are the camera. Even though there are a countless amount of things you can focus on, you only have the ability to focus on whatever is in your lens. Be aware of where you are directing the camera of your life because what you chose to focus on will direct the quality of your life.
Questions: The easiest and quickest way to direct our focus is to ask a question. Our brains are like computers and whatever questions we ask our minds have no choice, but to come up with an answer even if it’s not the answer you are looking for. Most people get caught up in asking themselves disempowering questions like “Why me? What’s wrong with me? How come I’m always the victim?” The master of mindset asks more empowering questions like “Whats great about this? What’s am I happy or grateful for? How can be a leader and get ahead in life?” Ask a better question, get a better answer.
These are only a couple keys mentioned in my book “Mindset Mastery” pick it up to take your mindset and your life to the next level, you deserve to be in control.

TURNING ADVERSITY INTO ADVENTURE
Although we all live unique lives and have unique experiences, adversity is common to all of us. Some may face tougher challenges than others, but at the end of the day, we all feel it when we are scared, nervous, anxious or hopeless.
Our guest on the show today was Mark Minard, an entrepreneur, author, and speaker, but Mark wasn’t always as successful as he is today. There was a time when at 17 he woke up in a jail cell and didn’t even know why. He had been drinking and doing drugs all day when at some point he decided to get behind the wheel. Mark didn’t drive very far before he fell unconscious at the wheel and got into a car accident.
After this situation, he was forced to re-evaluate his life from the people he surrounded himself with to the actions he took on a daily basis. Eventually, Mark found a love for reading books, for him, it was a place where he could escape his environment and experience a new adventure.
Here we are years later and Mark has been able to completely turn his life around and leave his past behind. He has now found his mission in life by helping people improve their lives. He teaches people that it’s okay to be afraid, fear comes naturally to us all. Those who succeed do not do so in absence of fear but in spite of it. Most people when they look to someone who is doing well in life, they like to think it is because of some natural talent, skill or ability without knowing their story.
The story of successful people is often the story of transforming adversity into an adventure. When faced with fears, challenges, and obstacles, those who succeed take action anyways and learn to love the adventure. Those problems you are facing in your life right now can be your gift!

JOURNALING 101
We have thoughts racing in our minds, don’t we? Sometimes those thoughts can get away from us and lead to some serious issues in our lives, starting with our thoughts, then our emotions, then our actions and finally, our results in life.
So what’s the answer to controlling these thoughts and regaining our focus?
In my research of studying successful people in life, there was one common element that I noticed almost every one of them performs: journaling. I mean really putting your thoughts on the page. It can be songwriting, poetry, sketching, stories or just your thoughts.
Before I heard that journaling was done by some of the most successful people in the world who I look up to, I had my own experience with it. At 15 I began songwriting and what started off as simply a fun process for me quickly turned into a venting process. Anytime I had anything going on in my life that led me to overthink or feel a high emotional state, I would pick up a pencil and piece of paper and begin to word vomit all over the page. I turned those words into songs and I fell in love with this therapeutic process.
After doing this, I realized how liberating and empowering that process can be. All of a sudden I wasn’t overthinking anymore, I was able to mark down my thoughts and set them aside. This process really helped me to cope with the struggles of growing up as a teenager.
By the time I was 19, I decided to actually start a journal. I started off by filling it with memories from drunken nights that I didn’t want to forget, but it quickly turned into me journaling about everything and anything. After a while, journaling became a very powerful part of my life. I wrote twice a day; once when I woke up and once before I went to bed. It helped me to vent, solve problems, make plans and focus on what empowers me. Now here we are over 1000 journal entries later and not only has my life has changed a lot; so does how I journal.
Here are a few tips you can use while you journal.
There is no right or wrong. Let yourself be as open and honest as you can. You don’t need to keep what you wrote, you can burn it as long as you get those thoughts out of your head.
Ask yourself empowering questions. If you are having trouble finding inspiration for what to write about, start with a question and go from there. It can be as simple as “What was great about today?” “What am I happy about?” or “What’s my plan for tomorrow and the future?”
Journal consistently, even if you don’t feel like it. Get into the habit of writing consistently, remember there is no right or wrong, but you want to develop a habit.
