Neapolitan, graduated in Double Bass at the Conservatory of Naples, a Master in Digital Writing at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Florence and graduated in Electroacoustic Musical Composition at the Conservatory of Benevento, he is strongly attracted by the possibilities of interchange of codes and their distinctive and transversal constituent elements . The research areas focus on the interactions between Visual and Sound Art and push towards a study aimed at the relationships between phonemes, signs, perception and environment in a holistic and minimalist direction. There are numerous performances and installations in which he participates with a wide versatility between cultures, styles and artistic models and in which he operates on multiple levels of interest: compositional, planning, didactic; between exchanges of thoughts and actions shared with artists and creatives.

The dead childrens of jingle bells

Episode in Cross Cities
“The Dead Childrens of Jingle Bells” is a piece dedicated to the memory of the approximately seventy thousand children who lost their lives in Gaza. The composition, 05:45 in length, unfolds as a sonic requiem: electronic textures, suspended harmonies, and fragile acoustic traces that evoke absence, silence, and interrupted lives. Only twice, and for just a few measures, the melody of Jingle Bells briefly appears. This delicate, almost whispered quotation creates a stark contrast between the festive imagery of our traditions and the horror of the massacre. It is an emotional rupture — a reminder of how the world can keep celebrating while childhood is erased elsewhere. This piece is not meant to be political; it is meant to be human. An invitation to listen, to pause, to remember. To never grow accustomed.

Maqām

Episode in Cross Cities
“Maqām” is a piece dedicated to the victims of the Palestinian massacre — and to all lives shattered by acts of collective violence around the world. The title refers to the modal system of Middle Eastern music, a language shaped by memory, emotion, and the subtle tension between grief and resilience. In this composition, the maqām becomes a space of mourning: suspended drones, fractured melodic lines, and unresolved harmonies trace the outline of a sorrow that finds no consolation. The music moves in slow circles, like a ritual of remembrance, allowing each sound to carry the weight of a story that can no longer be told. “Maqām” is conceived with the future in mind, giving room to silence and to mourning. A moment of listening for those who can no longer speak. A place where sound becomes witness.

Zephyr

Episode in Cross Cities
mAEn is an Italian anthropo-alchemic duo formed by Maurizio Chiantone and Enrico Pofi, Neapolitans. This strange transmutability of the two is the result of a continuous research on languages and the incredible world of sounds that surrounds them. Acoustic sparks and sound microclimates with and through which structures and new ways of creation are experimented regarding the relationship between man, media and technology. For a long time, their own kermesse rest on constant attention to the infinite possibility of combination and manipulation of the codes, which are the distinctive and transversal elements that compose them or the dynamic and creative potential connected to the production or implementation of an event. mAEn processes in any available space, using supports acoustic and digital, building their own performances on a minimal research concept. In this direction, ethnic materials and sound objects, self-made, commonly used, metals, woods, glass, plastics, that can be urged, are used in an open and experimental way. Use instead of the new technologies offered by digital tools tablet, phones, keyboards, pads, sequencer, contributes to the creation of a connected set in a key aesthetic and formal. The material mood integrates with the virtual one. Fifth Element is the result of contact with the space available, using both acoustic and digital supports, aiming at a minimal research concept. In this direction, ethnic, self-built, commonly used metals, wood, glass, plastics, stressable materials and sound objects are used in an open and experimental way. The electronic and technological supports, offered by digital tools tablets, phones, keyboards, pads, sequencers, contribute to the realisation of a connected whole in an aesthetic and formal reading key. Episode in Cross Cities
This vinyl features ten tracks of warm, soulful jazz with hints of world music. Each piece was recorded live and entirely improvised, capturing an intimate dialogue between double bass and saxophone. It’s an authentic, warm sonic experience for anyone who loves improvisation and enveloping atmospheres. Recorded in 2024 at the historic Mustilli's cellars. That should give it that nice extra touch of context. Mixing and Mastering by Maurizio Chiantone and Neil Leonard Cover by Enrico Pofi Poster by Maurizio Chiantone
