The Jock is always willing to “compromise his own long-term health; he must fight other men when necessary; he must avoid being soft; and he must be aggressive.” By demonstrating his power and strength, the jock wins the approval of other men and the adoration of women. The Strong Silent Type focuses on “being in charge, acting decisively, containing emotion, and succeeding with women.” This stereotype reinforces the assumption that men and boys should always be in control, and that talking about one’s feelings is a sign of weakness. The Big Shot is defined by his professional status. He is the “epitome of success, embodying the characteristics and acquiring the possessions that society deems valuable.” This stereotype suggests that a real man must be economically powerful and socially successful. The Action Hero is “strong, but not necessarily silent. He is often angry. Above all, he is aggressive in the extreme and, increasingly over the past several decades, he engages in violent behavior.” The Buffoon appears as a bungling father figure in TV ads and sitcoms. Programs could also include live or recorded guest interviews and feedback from the listening audience, so the host needs to be able to encourage people to share their thoughts and opinions while still retaining control over the show.   Step one: Ignore anybody who tries to tell you how to be a talk show host This is fundamentally a solo business and the more you try to be like someone else, or the more closely you follow the consultants and the bosses, the less effective you will be. Somewhere, down deep, you either have it or you don’t, and the key to your success will be being true to yourself. Likewise, the key to the continued success of the form will be the quality and variety of rising hosts. The great weakness of talk radio today is that it all sounds the same. There are those who are copying Rush, and there are those who are currying favor with the bosses, and neither group is doing much to build audience. The structure of talk radio also contributes to making it very homogenous. There is a tiny handful of radio and syndication companies, and they are led by a very small number of men whose views are repeated like gospel across their hundreds of stations. Because you don’t do shows for bosses, you do shows for listeners. And though the bosses own the station and sign your check, your real relationship is with the listener. Thursday Nov 3, 2016... Welcome to the Curvy Studios... The Secret Life of a Light-Skinned African-American Girl by Diamond Durant I was always told I was black. I was black, but not quite black enough or not black black but still black to say the least. I was told that in my life, I would have certain privileges. Privileges that darker women would not be able to acquire and I should be grateful for that. I should be happy that I would be more desired for receptionist jobs and I should be overjoyed that if a white boy happened to like me, I would be eligible for a seat at family dinner because I’m not black black, remember? I should appreciate the automatic assumptions that I am foreign, that if I have a weave it is my real hair, and that I’m way too narcissistic to give most boys the time of day. I should never ever complain about my skin because real black girls go through things every day that I will never be able to relate to. I understand that my skin has privileged me in some ways. No, I was never bullied or called ‘burnt’, or compared to a monkey or a roach. I was never told by a boy that he didn’t like me because of my skin color. But, being told by people that I wasn’t black or I wasn’t black enough took a different toll on me.“At a time when some girls my age wanted a boyfriend or bigger breasts, I wanted dark skin” I remember going to a camp when I was younger, where I became friends with a girl who happened to be white. We had gotten close, well, as close as two 12-year-olds could be. She came to camp one day and told me that her father said we couldn’t be friends anymore. “My father told me that you’re still a nigger even though you look different. He said you’re the sneakiest kind of nigger because you never know what side you’re on.”

We welcome to Thurs Nite Live Flanice Lewis a BC Survivor Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States (other than skin cancer). But millions of women are surviving the disease thanks in part to early detection and improvements in treatment. The American Cancer Society actively fighting breast cancer by helping women get tested to find breast cancer earlier, and helping them understand their treatment options and cope with the physical and emotional side effects. They also fund research to help prevent, find, and treat breast cancer. Getting mammograms regularly can lower the risk of dying from breast cancer. The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends that if you are 50 to 74 years old, be sure to have a screening mammogram every two years. If you are 40 to 49 years old, talk to your doctor about when to start and how often to get a screening mammogram. Are you worried about the cost? CDC offers free or low-cost mammograms… Each year in the United States, more than 200,000 women get breast cancer and more than 40,000 women die from the disease. •Men also get breast cancer, but it is not very common. Less than 1% of breast cancers occur in men. •Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, but breast cancer also affects younger women. About 10% of all new cases of breast cancer in the United States are found in women younger than 45 years of age. Although cannot prevent breast cancer, it can help find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat. Talk to your doctor about which breast cancer screening tests are right for you, and when you should have them.

Let’s be BRUTALLY honest here; those with tattoos, and a large number of tattoos, will find less paying work as models. Why? Simple, clients don’t want the model to compete with their product. The model is a prop, the product is the star of the shoot. Designers, makers and other clients want a model to wear their clothes/accessories and not interfere. Can you honestly say a model with a Yakuza tattoo could model an Old Navy Shorts and Tank outfit and keep the focus on the clothes? Who’s the winner in this situation? Not the company who paid for the production crew, model, and advertisement. (Excerpt from JayKilgore) Another way to look at it…..We are happy to say that the answer is YES! There was a time when a tattoo on a model was unthinkable. How times have changed! Tattooed models are everywhere including supermodels Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss and more. So, if you've got some great ink, don't worry! With today's computer photo software agencies and clients are able to remove or add to your ink with the click of a button. While we wouldn't recommend going all out like Rick Genest, a few tatts here and there won't hurt - well, at least not your job prospects. Miracles Outreach has provided foster care and other services to more than 400 youth in Florida since 2000. We focus on children who are homeless, have been abused or were victims of Human Trafficking between the ages of twelve and seventeen. We provide a caring, nurturing, safe home to children that come to us from child welfare agencies throughout Florida and often arrive severely troubled because of the situations that caused them to enter foster care. Miracles Impacting lives for future generations… Miracles Outreach works to restore our community by empowering program participants and/or residents to become self-sufficient – economically, emotionally and spiritually. Our purpose is to provide safe, secure, nurturing environments for the educational development of at-risk youth, reducing the risk factors that lead to juvenile delinquency. Miracles Outreach has a track record of success when it comes to housing children which are coming from some of the most troubling situations imaginable. When one child ages out or leaves our facility to live with a competent, capable family member the State of Florida seeks to fill that void by immediately contacting us in hopes that we will provide care for yet another deserving child. Our foster program houses the second highest amount of children in Hillsborough County. We’re confident in our programs, processes and most importantly our overall outcomes.
