Matt is an expert in the cryptocurrency industry and a Product Manager at the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) is disrupting the traditional banking system as we know it. Financial tools and actions such as borrowing, lending, insurance, and exchanges can be done with the help of smart contracts on DeFi blockchain protocols. No longer do you need the bank to hold your money for you. No longer do you need a money maker to connect a buyer and a seller. We discuss the innovations of smart contracts, liquidity pools, different token utilities, and bond yield curves amongst other topics.
