📖 Section Covered: Part 4 Chapter 2 Subchapters 5, Chapter 3 Subchapters 1-8 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter re-join the ka-tet outside the Emerald Palace as they get their new ruby shoes/boots on and get ready to click their heels, but it does not work and they realize that it is because Oy is not doing it as well. Once they help Oy the gate opens. The tet goes in and sees a nonsense-filled newspaper with some Blaine references. Much of what they see is straight from the Oz film including the long hallway. They get to the big room with a massive throne and rainbow organ as the voice starts booming out at them, and Blaine's route map appears out of fog. They go back and forth with the voice until Oy reveals the man behind the curtain, which is Tick Tock man. Then on the throne appears Marten or Flagg, the Deans dispose of Tick Tock. Roland's guns do nothing against Flagg, he tells them all to forsake the Tower, Roland draws the Ruger shocking Flagg but it caught on his belt buckle allowing Flagg to escape. 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter Palaver on a few things, first they discuss the ending (yes again) through the lens of people who were disappointed in it and how their desires don't align with King in general and this story in particular. Then similar to the discussion last month on Jake being the most important character to get right the boys go through all 8 book and discuss which supporting characters will be the most important for each season (assuming each book would be a season, which is not Flanagan's plan but for this discussion they pretend). Then Peter talks a bit about his final few King books to achieve his 100% badge. Then King has been posting some stuff on Other Worlds Than These including the fact it is the FINAL Dark Tower book. 📖 Section Covered: Part 4 Chapter 1 Subchapters 4-5, Chapter 2 Subchapters 1-4 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter the Ka-Tet is tormented by the thinny's warble and when it finally subsides a few followup questions are asked about some of the dangling threads and Roland answers them, including Clay Reynolds, Cordelia Delgado, and Sheemie. The also see a note on a camper talking about an old woman in Nebraska and a Dark Man in Vegas. The also reach a clearing on I-70 and find red shoes for each of them, including Oy. The building they are approaching is now clearly seen as an Emerald Palace. Eddie ties Roland flying into the Ball to the Wizard of Oz as he saw things flying in the storm. They then fill Roland in on the story of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz as it is clearly relevant to what they are seeing. Then in the news there is an article that talks about Jake Chambers being the most important character to get right in an adaptation which the boys discuss at length and through this examine aspects of the end of the series, the nature of gunslingers, Susannah's choice at the end, and Peter finding a pretty critical thing in a re-read of Black House that has potentially huge implications in The Dark Tower Series. Susan is taken into town on Rhea's cart and as she sees a farmer she finally understands what she is headed for, and she prays to her father for strength for what is to come. Roland had realized in our last episode that the ball lied to him, and now he demands it from Alain, he takes it out and it shows him Susan in the cart, all while drinking his agony. He watches as the people began to pelt her with cornhusks and rotten vegitables, while they spit at her and while they chant Charyou Tree. Cuthbert and Alain are helpless to break Roland from it as he screams in agony. Then Cordelia and Rhea lead the charge of the town as they put Susan on the bonfire stack and ask she cries out her love for Roland Cordelia (and then Rhea) throw the first torches on the piles. In the end Susan thinks of Roland, remembers the good times, they were well met. Roland is screaming like a gutted animal, the ball only releases him when Cuthbert readies to shoot it, Roland passes out, the boys must leave Hambry for good with Roland in tow. Then we rejoin our 'modern' Ka-Tet as the story is told, they marvel it has only been one night, we hear Roland looked into the ball 3 more times. Jake hugs Roland and apologizes that he lost his friend. 📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 10 Subchapters 15-22 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter continue into the final chapter of Part 3 and in this episode the boys take out the tankers and ambush Latigo and his men in the desert but rather than taking some shots at Latigo himself they bait him and his men towards Eyebolt Canyon. Latigo has to wake up some of his men mesmerized by the columns of fire from the tankers that are now going off in a chain reaction; he and Hendricks muster the men to give chase to the boys. Latigo and company muster 80 people and ride hard after the boys heading into the canyon. The boys let their horses go and set fire to the gunpowder then go into the canyon. The Thinny almost takes Cuthbert and Alain but Roland wakes them up and they climb the notch in the canyon wall. Latigo and his men charge into the canyon unaware of the fire starting that will box them in and they drive right into the thinny and are torn apart by the thinny. 📖 Section Covered: Part 3, Chapter 10 Subchapters 7-14 📢 Episode Summary: In the first Book Club for Wizard and Glass in 2026 Tadd and Peter continue into the final chapter of Part 3 and in this episode Sheemie and Olive are working together at Seafront trying to free Susan without much success. Finally with Marias' help and some fire they clear the vaqueros out and free her. Cuthbert and Alain wake Roland up after the Ball took him, and he tells them of their quest for the Dark Tower he also tells them that Susan has been taken but he thinks Sheemie will rescue her. Olive, Sheemie, and Susan ride north to escape and they send Sheemie back to throw any pursuers off their trail, but shortly after sending him away Olive and Susan are headed off by Reynolds and Rhea who kill Olive and take Susan in the back of Rhea's cart. The Traveller's Rest is packed with more than 200 people but it is as quiet as a wake until Rhea and Cordelia come in and start to froth the entire group up against Susan and say they must paint her hands, Charyou Tree. Sheemie is following the path of Susan, and first runs afoul Capi but eventually gets to Seafront and runs into Olive Thorin who wants to help Susan. Then we join Roland inside the ball and get some of the biggest pieces of information about The Dark Tower to date and we see things we have already seen but are in Roland's future. Reynolds is hurrying Susan back to Seafront, getting more uneasy as time goes. Cordelia is visited by the nearly depleted Rhea and the two begin to conspire & Rhea is refreshed by Cordelia. Roland and his Tet wait in the tall grass and are nearly discovered by Jonas's party. After they pass the boys set into action, stealthy riding up behind them taking people out quietly taking out a chunk of them before the enemy even knew they were under attack. Then the gunfire. Roland, Cuthbert, and Alain massacre almost the entire party including Roy and Jonas. Cuthbert is not very happy about more waiting, the thing he is worst at, but Roland says they won't be waiting for long. Jonas rejoins his larger party, Susan dresses down the traitor Fran Lengyll and Jonas takes the ball from Rhea and sends her away. He then has Clay take Susan back to Seafront all while Sheemie watches.
