DC Films Podcast – Episode 35: Updates To Justice League & Justice League Dark

On this episode of DC Films Podcast, (which was recorded earlier this week), Sark, Shaina and The Flash Podcast’s Andy Behbakht get together to discuss the latest in the world of DC. Last week was a little bit of a bummer, as the hosts discuss the news of Doug Liman stepping down from Justice League Dark. But there is even more tragic news as it was revealed that Zack Snyder lost his daughter back in March to suicide and now the director has stepped away from post-production on Justice League, which will be finished by Joss Whedon (who is helming Batgirl).  In addition to that, they share the announcement about this year’s new charity event for the DC TV Podcasts Network which will be taking place on Saturday, June 17 when the network teams up with World Wildlife Fund – more details will be announced shortly! That and more on the latest episode of DC Films Podcast! “DC Films Podcast, a product of DC TV Podcasts and DC Comics News/Dark Knight News, is dedicated to covering the DC Comics movies in the DC Extended Universe. DC Films Podcast – Episode 31: New Wonder Woman Trailer Reaction

Welcome to Episode 31! In this episode, Roy (@DCN_Roy) and Shaina (@Jokergrl) talk about the new Wonder Woman trailer, the news about The Batman being rewritten (oh poor Joe Manganiello), and Roy hogs the mic for far too long to rant about the current state of affairs at Warner Bros. There’s also some love for John Cena, some hate for Batman & Robin’s Bane, and a whole bunch of Batmen who, if they didn’t before, now know exactly where they stand in the rankings. So crack open an ice cold can of Soder Cola, plug in your headphones, and let the good times flow! Chat with us on Twitter and Facebook @DCFilmsPodcast! DC Films Podcast – Episode 30: The Batman & Nightwing Announcements

Happy 30th Episode guys! This episode is a discussion between our own Sark and Jess about the latest DC film news. The dramatic 3 part saga of Matt Reeves and the Batman solo film FINALLY comes to a close with the announcement that he is, in fact, locked in with Warner Bros. I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad that this emotional rollercoaster has gone past the drops and corkscrews and has made it safely back to the station so we can all get off this ride and MOVE ON WITH OUR LIVES. Don't get me wrong, the idea of a solo Batman movie is awesome and I'm glad that WB is already working to make it happen, but DON'T TOY WITH ME. Anyway, we also talk about the prospect of a Nightwing movie, that got announced recently. Chris McKay, who just directed the extremely funny Lego Batman Movie, is attached to helm the Nightwing. This is quite an unexpected choice and it brings up many questions. Don't worry though, the hosts cover their picks for casting, possible storylines, and what a live-action Nightwing movie could mean for the future of DCEU films. DC Films Podcast – Episode 29: DC Films Director News

We’ve got a lot going on this episode so buckle your seat belt and tune in because Andy Behbakht (from The Flash Podcast) joins us as a guest host! This episode is all about directors! Announcements, rumors, negotiations, we’re covering it all! BUT FIRST, what kind of DC Film podcast would this be if we didn’t talk about The Lego Batman Movie (again) ?! Basically Sark and Jess just need an excuse to talk about how awesome it was. Seriously, go see it if you haven’t. Back to the director news, David F. Sandberg (Annabelle 2, Lights Out) is in talk to direct the Shazam film. He is primarily known for his work on horror movies, so what could this mean for Shazam and the storyline of the film? And what about the Black Adam movie? Isn’t that one supposed to be released prior to Shazam? Very sneaky, Warner Bros. Even sneakier, is WB’s considerations for Suicide Squad 2 director. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad), Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, 50/50) are among the directors on the radar, but the most surprising possibility is Mel Gibson. Yes, we know, this is very strange. Not to mention the negativity swirling around him and his past. The hosts give us their thoughts on each of the directors mentioned. Do you think Mel Gibson has a serious shot at directing Suicide Squad 2? Let us know! Lastly, we discuss the latest addition to the Batman solo movie drama. A week after it was announced that Matt Reeves would be directing the film, now we’re hearing that negotiations have ended. However, Ridley Scott (The Martian, Alien) and Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead remake) are now also being considered by Warner Bros. as possible considerations. So the million dollar question(s) is, which of these directors do we think is the best choice for being at the helm of a solo Batman movie? And of course, how will this impact the film and its production? Listen in and let us know your thoughts! The film doesn’t have release date yet, but you can bet that we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any new information! Remember last episode when we discussed Ben Affleck stepping down from director of The Batman? Well guess what!?!? He’s already been replaced!!! Matt Reeves has stepped into the role of director about a week after the Affleck news was announced. What could this quick transition mean for production of The Batman? Tune in to find out! In this week’s episode, the gang discusses some hard hitting topics including the latest in Aquaman casting news, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Kidman, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll are in negotiations to play Aquaman’s father, Aquaman’s mother, and Black Manta respectively. Also, THE LEGO BATMAN MOVE COMES OUT FEBRUARY 10, WHO’S EXCITED?!?!?! Our hosts are! The star studded cast includes Zach Galifinakis, Rosario Dawson, Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Mariah Carey - Wait, what? Mariah Carey? *reads movie’s wikipedia page* “Mariah Carey as Mayor McCaskill” Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle. This should be interesting. Lastly, Ben Affleck has officially stepped down from director of The Batman. What could this mean for the production of the movie DC fans have been waiting years for? Who could possibly take on the role of director, or rather, who could we possibly trust taking on the role of director of such a highly anticipated film? DC Films Podcast - Episode 25: Black Adam Movie & Green Lantern Corps Shortlist

The whole gang’s here, folks!! This week, we address a rumor concerning the return of Jared Leto’s Joker and the cryptic pictures he has been posting on social media lately. Could we be seeing the Joker sooner than we think? Possibly. Is Jared Leto extremely attractive? DEFINITELY. (Sorry, Jess is writing this.) In other news, it has been officially announced that Black Adam will have his own movie, this after Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had been cast in the role for the Shazam! movie. Looks like we’ve got a lot of DC films to look forward to. Speaking of which, Green Lantern Corps is slated to be released in 2020, but a casting shortlist for Hal Jordan has already been released. The list consists of Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Bradley Cooper, Joel McHale, Tom Cruise, and Ryan Reynolds. Who do you think should be cast as Hal Jordan? The hosts let us in on their thoughts. They also discuss the writers for Green lantern Corp, David Goyer (Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman) and Justin Rhodes (Contract Killers…yeah I’ve never heard of it either). DC Films Podcast – Episode 24: Who Should Play Shazam?

We’re back! On this week’s episode, Roy, Jess and Shaina tackle some rumors floating around the DC Film universe. Will Arkham Asylum make an appearance in the Justice League movie? If so, what easter eggs should be featured? Who will be playing opposite Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam character in “Shazam”? Will it be Brandon Molale, who has been campaigning for the role since since 2007? WHO IS BRANDON MOLALE ANYWAY? We give our picks on who we think should play the role, if Molale is not cast. We also talk about the possibility of Usain Bolt making a cameo in “The Flash” and what kind of role we would like to see him play in the film. And of course, the man of the hour, the Big Bat himself. Ben Affleck. We know that he’ll be writing the script for “The Batman”, but what will the storyline entail?
