29. How moving my body changed everything! With Michelle Cannon

Michelle Cannon is a mom of 3 baby boys and wife to her "better half" as she calls her husband. Michelle is Blue Diamond leader within doTERRA, a stay at home momma who is constantly trying her best in all areas. She loves running, anything wellness related, spending quality time with family, and has a massive desire to help create and inspire change for the good in other people. Her saying that she reads every morning, to keep on the brightest side of life, is "When faced with 2 choices, what are you going to choose? The one that will hold you back another day, or the one that will propel you forward 5 days?" 5 days!" Michelle was a professional ballroom dancer before doTERRA and kids! Becoming a mom was full of changes and Michelle realized that she lost herself and is now on a journey of trying to regain her identity. About a year ago, Michelle began exercising and practicing self care. Michelle says that, “It’s a commitment even when it feels like you aren't getting anywhere". Michelle recommends making a list of things that you are struggling with and then tie that to what you are reading, viewing or things that you are taking in. Are your struggles tied to what you're letting into your mind and body? Commit to 30 mins a day of working out and also 30 mins of reading, whether that is a self-development or scripture reading. Also, be cautious what you are eating, and have healthy boundaries in other areas of your life as well. Essential oils are a huge staple in Michelle’s journey.  Life Long Vitality is a must for Michelle, Copaiba soft gels are also a daily must for Michelle. A blend that Michelle uses often is 10 drops hawaiian sandalwood, 10 drops balance, 10 drops of wild orange, 10 drops of siberian fir in a roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil. This blend helps to calm and bring peace to Michelle. Dare to Lead by Brene Brown, I Thought It Was Just Me, But It Isnt by Brene Brown and May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein are books that Michelle is reading.   Instagram- oilmagicbymichelle Facebook- Oilmagicbymichelle Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Follow Julie-->www.instagram.com/julie_ann_davey/ Follow Kari--> www.instagram.com/karicoody/   On the web: www.anaturalshift.com   Free resources! 28. Carb Cycling with Lindsay Hulse

Lindsay lives in the North Houston area in a little suburb called The Woodlands, Texas with her husband of three years and their Vizsla Elmer. She is the creator of The FAST Track To Fit which is a lifestyle method that combines intermittent fasting and carb cycling in a holistic and comprehensive way. Lindsay's background is in nursing which is why she is so passionate about the health and wellness industry. She has seen and been a part of the entire spectrum of life from L&D to home health and hospice, which is where she ended her corporate career. Lindsay is on a mission to empower women to ditch the quick fix mindset and create a sustainable lifestyle! Lindsay explains that carb cycling is exactly what it sounds like, it is an intentional intake of carbs.  It is simple to learn to count macronutrients which are carbs, protein, and fat. Lindsay gives an idea of what a low carb and high carb day looks like, and also how she exercises on those days. One of the  appealing things about carb cycling is that there is no one and only way, it is very versatile and can work with different body types and schedules. My Fitness Pal is a great app to use to count your macros. Lindsay recommends having a coach that can help you learn the process and also hold you accountable. One thing that Lindsay cannot live without right now is her sherpa sweatshirt. Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis is what Lindsay is currently reading. Like most of us ladies, Lindsay loves chocolate and loves the Rebel Protein drinks.   Connect with Lindsay here: Instagram @lindsayhuelse; @fasttracktofit https://www.lindsayrenefitness.com   Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Follow Julie-->www.instagram.com/julie_ann_davey/ Follow Kari--> www.instagram.com/karicoody/   On the web: www.anaturalshift.com   Download our FREE ebooks: Top 3 Health Habits Upgrade your Cart - chip edition   Check out our newest ebook! 27. The power of healing: Ginger Butts

Ginger is a lover of Jesus first and foremost, empty nester with hubby of 26 years-Johnny and mom to two young adult sons-Cody and Kyle. Ginger owns a retail store and manufactures nutritious food. Ginger experienced the power of healing through God's creation after two serious health issues and loves to declare God's healing whenever opportunity presents itself! Ginger started her health journey after her sons were diagnosed with asthma and she didn’t feel comfortable with the medications that were being prescribed. After a lot of prayer and research, Ginger began to treat her children nutritionally. The most pivotal upgrade that Ginger has taken was stepping out of the box and not automatically doing what the medical system suggested but seeking God in how she nutritionally treated her children. The one decision that brought her where she is today is deciding that her healthcare is up to God! Ginger has a store that offers locally and organically grown food. Ginger feels like she is able to help those that come into her store by sharing her knowledge and her story. Some upgrades that Ginger takes every day include oil pulling, prayer time, sipping on lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of ACV in hot water while doing her quiet time. After that she works out, takes a shower, has a smoothie that includes her Nourished in 5 product, and then begins her day. Ginger wishes that people knew that God is our ultimate healer. There is power in Jesus and he wants to heal you. Invite him into your lives and He will guide you!   Ginger is currently reading a book by Michael Jacobson called The Word On Health. Something that Ginger is loving right now is her own product called Nourished in 5 Ginger wishes that people knew that she doesn’t judge those that aren’t on her health bandwagon. Ginger's weakness are potato chips, and her favorite healthy snack is organic granola and also pesto. 26. Give yourself the gift of self-love this Valentine's Day with Dr. Jenn Chrisman

Dr. Jenn Chrisman is a licensed clinical psychologist, speaker, master coach, host of the newly top rated Love Your Truth podcast, and forthcoming author who is committed to guiding people into their highest potential through inspiring radical self-reflection and offering practical direction. She knew early on that she wanted to help others live better lives. With her formative years colored by obstacles and hardships she learned to draw from the power of resilience at a very young age. The experiences of her life have left her with a profound capacity for empathy and understanding, as well as a passion for helping others advocate for their own lives. This, coupled with an innate inclination towards being a seeker, naturally led her to the field of Psychology, ultimately receiving a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. While her doctoral education and formal training has provided her with valuable knowledge about different theories, interventions, and mental health, it is her life experiences and intuitive nature that makes her truly special at what she does and capable of guiding others on their own paths. Her quest to find meaning and purpose in her own life has led her to whole-heartedly believe in the healing power of compassion, tolerance, and human connection. After building, and out-growing, a successful private practice in Los Angeles, Dr. Jenn Chrisman began coaching other therapists and healing professionals on how to grow and market a heart-centered business. With the success of her online business, A Perfect Practice, she found herself with a gnawing sense of dissatisfaction, and she again was forced to go deeper and explore what more her soul’s journey was calling for. While Dr. Jenn Chrisman excelled at teaching and inspiring others in business, her heart craved more soulful work, returning to her roots and expanding on what she does best, connecting, she launched her podcast, Love Your Truth, in November 2018 and it quickly climbed the iTunes top 100 chart in self-help. Guests of her show frequently comment on how skilled she is at asking the questions that lead to deeply impactful and unique interviews. She is known for asking the question behind the question. In addition to hosting the Love Your Truth podcast, she also runs a personal mastery online course 3 times a year, works privately with clients, is finishing her book due out in March 2019, and is planning her first retreat in October of 2019. And finally, Dr. Jenn Chrisman is a mother, which has significantly shaped her perception of self, others, and the world. As she is on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, she was profoundly impacted by the transition into motherhood. She has come to believe that we all come into this world with a great capacity for being loved and loving in return; there is no greater reminder fo the pureness of the human spirit than looking into the eyes of a child. Jenn wants women to embrace and love every aspect of themselves. She defines acceptance as moving to a place of neutrality and allowing yourself to accept that things are the way they are and not necessarily preference. Jenn explains her signature "passengers on the bus" analogy. The bus analogy encourages one to look at his or her past and see what areas are still hanging around and taking over the present. Jenn explains how being willing is vital to health: being willing to change, being willing to accept positive things, or being willing to love yourself! Perfectionism is your own super imposed prison- unknown Taking the upgrade for Jenn means being conscious and making the choice of who you want to be. One of the most pivotal upgrades that Jen has made in her life was joining an Elite Mastermind Group last year. Jenn is currently reading Happy Pocket Full Of Money by David Cameron Gikandi One thing that Jenn can’t live without is soul cycle. A favorite snack of Jenns is sliced apples sprinkled with lemon and cinnamon, sometimes paired with almonds or almond butter! 25. Self-Care is Healthcare; with Julie Davey and Kari Coody

Join Julie and Kari as they share tips on why self-care is so important! To Julie, putting herself first and making sure that she is getting the things that she needs is crucial. Taking little steps every day, like working out, having a quiet time, and using essential oils are all rituals in her self care routine. Julie encourages women by reminding them that we all have the same amount of time, it's all about making self-care a priority because you are your greatest investment! For Kari, her self care journey started after she had her daughter. Kari realized that she needed to make time for herself in order to be the best mom and wife she could be. Kari wants women to know that when a woman says she doesn't have time, she is saying that she isn't worth it. Changing self-talk from negative words into positive words of affirmations is so important! Some self-care tips that Julie and Kari share in the episode:   Junk in =  junk out (you are what you eat) Eat whole foods that fuel your body! Add in the things that make you feel good like water and vibrant foods. Morning Routines- getting up early before the rest of the house to have some quiet time. 24. Achieving the life of your dreams with Tiffany Carter

Tiffany Carter takes the mystery out of making BIG money, while doing something you love. She uses a magnetic combination of her clear-cut communication style that she developed as a TV news journalist, her business savvy and proven strategies as a multi-millionaire entrepreneur, and her intuitive ability to connect with women on a deeper level, to uncover what’s blocking you from achieving your dream life. She’s a passionate female empowerment speaker and marketing sales specialist, responsible for more than a hundred million dollars in sales transactions. Tiffany's zones of genius are helping women become financially free, through education, empowerment, and proven straightforward strategies. This multi-millionaire entrepreneur went from a life of self-destruction to success, despite the odds being entirely against her. Tiffany’s mission runs deeper than helping women create wealth; her bigger purpose is to help women find their worth. Low self-worth = Low net-worth High self-worth = High net-worth The name ProjectME came to Tiffany while recovering from spine surgery ten years ago (first time she took time for herself!). Tiffany spent years masking deeply buried pain by compulsively exercising (hence the spine surgery), and working to the point of emotional, spiritual, and physical bankruptcy. Four years ago, a broken Tiffany, finally surrendered to the God of her understanding, and begged the Universe for help. She was finally ready to face the buried demons of her past. For the first time, she felt light, free, with a renewed sense of purpose. She knew ProjectME was the perfect platform to serve and support women in business. Tiffany wants women to remember the Most Exceptional project in your life, is YOU! Putting yourself and your needs first isn’t selfish; it's a necessary act of self-care and empowerment. ProjectME is a program to create your Most Exceptional life, by putting the focus back on you. ProjectME is designed to help you manifest the wealth, love, career, self-worth, travel, relationships, and life you desire and deserve. Tiffany is the host of the educationally edgy podcast, ProjectME with Tiffany Carter, a passionate advocate for abused women and children, and a proud Mom of two rescue dogs, Molly and Loke.   Tiffany Carter started a career as a newscaster and realized that she wanted to do something  bigger! Tiffany Shares how she sat on an idea for a business for almost 10 years before she took the leap and started her business. In order to have a mind shift when it comes to money, here are some questions that she encourages you to ask yourself, write down the answers and find the connections. 1) What things come to mind when you think about money, bills and your childhood? 2) What things come to mind when you think about money and your current situation as far as work, spouse, or boss? 3) What things come to mind when you see people around you going on extravagant trips or when you have to pay bills?   Tiffany shares how she lost money by not having a healthy money mindset. She encourages listeners to work through the money mindset just like you would stretch before and after a workout at the gym. The stretch is just as important as the workout, and the money mindset is just as important as the hard work you put into making money. For those that are unhappy or unsatisfied in their jobs, Tiffany encourages you to start with a side hustle while you transition to an entrepreneurial job, that way you can have a steady income while you build up your business. If you don't know what you want to do, start listening to podcasts, start dreaming, start writing and figure out what fulfills you. Tiffany's biggest life upgrades are the little daily habits such as vision boarding or visualizing your goals and also planning. Tiffany encourages you to use a paper goal centered planner. There is power when we write things down! Some non-negotiables and self care practices that Tiffany does are every morning are asking herself what would feel good to do that day as far as yoga, spin class or getting up and having tea or coffee before everyone gets up. Also remember to always put yourself first! To get you started on your journey to leading your Most Exceptional life, Tiffany created a free ProjectME Pocket Guide: 5 Steps to Creating Financial Freedom, available on her website at www.projectmewithtiffany.com For great business and life information and inspiration, follow Tiffany on social at: Instagram: @projectme_with_tiffany Facebook: @projectme_with_tiffany Podcast (iTunes & Spotify) : ProjectME with Tiffany Carter Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Follow Julie-->www.instagram.com/julie_ann_davey/ Follow Kari--> www.instagram.com/karicoody/   On the web: www.anaturalshift.com   Download our FREE ebooks: Top 3 Health Habits Upgrade your Cart - chip edition Check out our  new e book! 20. How losing 65 lbs redefined my body and my life: Alex Garzaro, The Grindbabe

For over a decade, Alex has been helping women build healthy bodies and lifestyles by teaching them how to incorporate fitness into their lives and not structuring their lives around fitness. She is a mother to two amazing boys, a wife to her high school sweetheart and an advocate for living your best life without restrictions, but simply in balance. Alex has been able to transform her body along with helping hundreds of other women both physically and mentally. She went from a size 14 to competing in a bikini competition on the MGM stage in Las Vegas! Placing top 10 out of hundreds of women! Alex lost 65 pounds in the process and  has kept it off for a decade.Alex teaches women how to start transforming their lives by taking back control of their bodies. By learning that it’s okay to eat cookies and pizza :)  It’s simply about learning to balance your food intake for the day. Also, building a workout routine that fits into your schedule. Her mission is to stop the yo-yo affect and the idea of 'quick fixes' for weight loss. She is passionate about educating women on macro nutrition, training with intensity vs. duration and in the process help them rebuild their confidence.   After having kids and becoming a stay at home mom, Alex began to overeat and gained weight.  She was in a negative mind set and she knew she needed to make some changes. Alex decided to start working out and making small daily changes. She was forced to face her truths and be honest with herself in order to move forward and make the necessary changes. Alex began documenting her transformation online and sharing her progress. After seeing the changes in Alex, followers began asking her to share tips.  Soon after, she began coaching other women. Alex wants to encourage women to stop babying themselves and to just get started. If you are beginning a new workout, go all in and don't automatically go for the modifications. Push yourself a little! Alex teaches that balance is more important than restrictions and that diets are not important but a lifestyle change is what will ultimately get the results you desire. 'Taking the upgrade' to Alex means embracing the next version of herself and moving forward. Daily non-negotiables for Alex are starting her day with a good meal and journaling. Alex encourages others to read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover, but currently she is reading Work Party by Jaclyn Johnson, and Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. Something that Alex can’t live without is collagen infused coffee and shoes. One thing that people don't know is that Alex still struggles with her confidence. Alex loves to snack on Skinny Popcorn and sprinkles it with Kettle Seasons.  She also loves One bars and protein bars that she makes.     Connect with Alex: www.grindbabe.com Instagram: @Grindbabe Email: Grindbabe@gmail.com    Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Instagram: www.instagram.com/anaturalshift/ Follow Julie-->www.instagram.com/julie_ann_davey/ Follow Kari--> www.instagram.com/karicoody/   On the web: www.anaturalshift.com   Download our FREE ebooks: Top 3 Health Habits Upgrade your Cart - chip edition Check out our Newest ebook: Upgrade your Lunchbox

19. Building Belief in Yourself with Dani Leithead, CPT, FMS, RYT

Dani is a health coach in Tampa Bay, Florida and has been in the fitness industry for 12 years with a background in Psychology and Nutrition. Originally from Philadelphia, Dani moved to Florida to attend school at Nova Southeastern University. She partnered with a global, holistic health and wellness company in 2014 to heal her body from fatigue and stress. This partnership turned into a journey of mental and spiritual healing and created a deep desire to help women between the ages of 30-40 years old get their 'sexy back', while still enjoying their favorite foods. Dani specializes in helping women feel confident in their bodies, fall madly in love with themselves and their partners, all over again. A goal that Dani has set for herself this year is to listen to her body. If she needs a day off from working out or if her body is craving a certain food, she honors that. Dani recommends surrounding yourself with positive people who encourage you to reach your goals and become the best 'you' that you can be. Also, listening to podcasts and youtube videos to help get your mind in a healthy place. Dani and Julie talk about affirmations and how powerful they have been in their lives. Dani discusses the process of how she began using affirmations and how she continues to use them today. Meditation and Yoga are also important to Dani in her daily routine. A Gratitude Journal helps Dani to slow down and think about her life and what she is thankful for. Yoga allows her to feel refreshed and calm.  Dani shares that when you meditate you never completely clear your head, but it allows you to recognize your feelings and create solutions. For Dani, 'taking the upgrade' means working through the uncomfortable and also acknowledging the things that you have achieved. Dani's non-negotiables are faith, fitness, fun and daily affirmations. She is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, a Certified Dietician/Nutritionist licensed by New York State, and Certified in Adult Weight Management by the ADA. Lisa has been coaching clients since 2001 and specializes in coaching on mindful eating, mindset, habit/behavior change and overcoming emotional eating. Her clients learn how to create sustainable changes that empower them to lose unwanted weight for good. Lisa is the author of the book FOOD FIGHT –Winning the Battle with Food and Eating to Achieve Sustainable Weight Loss.   She served as the nutritionist on the New York Stock Exchange where she created HealthCoach, a healthy lunch program that delivered healthy meals to Wall Street traders from 2003-2013. She is also a personal trainer certified by ACE since 1994. Lisa has her private practice on the Upper West Side in New York City and coaches clients virtually around the world. Growing up Lisa was a fit and active kid.   It wasn't until she entered college that she struggled with diet and fitness. Lisa felt led to get involved in the fitness industry and eventually went back to school and obtained her degree at NYU in Clinical Nutrition. Now, Lisa focuses on helping others with habit behavior and mindset change.   Lisa shares tips on knowing why you are eating, slowing down when eating, and eating to contentment. Self awareness, self talk, and the way that our childhood patterns have formed our adult behaviors are all areas that Lisa encourages her clients to be mindful of. Lisa encourages her clients to eat real foods and to stay away from protein shakes and protein bars, be present while eating and pay attention to when you begin to feel content. One way that Lisa takes the upgrade is changing her mindset by stepping out of her comfort zone and encouraging herself to do things that make her feel uncomfortable. Daily upgrades or non-negotiable for Lisa are giving herself what she needs such as going to bed early, stretching, going to the gym or felling ok with lying on the couch and resting. Lisa loves her coffee, avocado toast, eggs, chicken meatballs by Butera and a pair of blue jeans from White House Black Market. Something that Lisa struggles with that most people don't know is that she doesn't love going on stage, but she pushes through by realizing her limiting belief and encouraging herself by speaking truth to herself Connect with Lisa:   Instagram: @lisa_goldberg_nutrition   Facebook: @lisabgold   Website www.lisagoldbergnutrition.com   Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Instagram: www.instagram.com/anaturalshift/ Follow Julie-->www.instagram.com/julie_ann_davey/ Follow Kari--> www.instagram.com/karicoody/   On the web: www.anaturalshift.com   Download our FREE ebooks: Top 3 Health Habits Upgrade your Cart - chip edition Check out our Brand new ebook: Upgrade your Cart: Lunchbox edition

11. What failure teaches us: Life School Lessons with Julie

In this episode, Julie talks "Life School Lessons" about how failure can teach us so much! Often, we choose not to try new things because we are afraid of failure. Every human on the planet has a fear of failure.  It’s natural. No matter how big the failure is, you can always start over. Tomorrow is a new day and you get to make a new choice.   Failure teaches us what is not working and what direction we need to move in next. Giving yourself permission to fail is so liberating.  Use failure as a stepping stone. No one is an overnight success. Everyone fears failure. Develop the ability to disconnect from the failure, learn the lesson, and move on. You are who you are because of the things you have overcome.  The past failures are what have made you the person you are today. It’s all part of the journey. The world needs you and your gifts and talents. People are depending on you to show up. Take the upgrade and begin to believe in yourself, embrace the failed attempts and know that they are shaping the person you are becoming and that if you don’t give up, you will achieve your goals! Meditate on this quote by Conrad Hilton: “Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.”   Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Instagram: www.instagram.com/anaturalshift/ For more inspiration and to see how we "take the upgrade" in our daily lives, follow us on instagram! 10. The biggest mistakes people make when healing their gut with The Organic Dietitian, Sara Korzeniewski, RD, CLT, FDNP

Sara Korzeniewski is a Registered Dietitian, Certified LEAP Therapist, and a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. Sara graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, she moved to Arizona to complete her dietetic internship at University Medical Center. Sara focuses on functional medicine with clients and takes time to listen, order appropriate tests, and get to the root of the issue. Sara shares how gut health is so important. The digestive system helps you to break down your food and absorb your nutrients. And, 70% of your immune system is in your gut! Seasonal allergies and hormone balance can both be controlled by having a healthy gut. Julie and Sara discuss common terms like the "Gut Microbiome" which is the collection or community of microorganisms that are living in your GI tract. And, "Leaky Gut"  or intestinal permeability occurs when your digestive system is compromised by food, medicine, stress, etc. Signs of Gut Imbalance include diarrhea, constipation, bloating and gas. The biggest mistakes people make when healing their gut are cutting out too much food, jumping to conclusions that you have a food intolerance and not focusing on balancing the bacteria in the gut.  Also, not getting the proper stool test or not testing at all to reveal the full picture of what is going on is also a common mistake.  Real food is always better than processed food for the gut. Fermented foods are great for those good bacteria. Bone broth is helps to repair the gut. Remember that there is no "one food plan fits all", it's important to find out what's going on in your gut to know what foods are just right for you. Sara encourages being on a probiotic and collagen proteins, and dietary modifications within reason to improve gut health overall. Managing your stress, getting proper rest and saying no to things that you don't like are also important steps to manage your gut health. What does the phrase "take the upgrade" mean for Sara? Taking baby steps and not necessarily huge leaps. Getting proper sleep and working out are also important daily actions.   Connect with Sara:   Instragram: @theorganicdietitian   Facebook: theorganicdietitian   Website www.theorganicdietitian.com     Connect with us? via social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/anaturalshift Instagram: www.instagram.com/anaturalshift/ Follow Julie-->www.instagram.com/julie_ann_davey/ Follow Kari--> www.instagram.com/karicoody/   On the web: www.anaturalshift.com   Download our FREE ebooks: Top 3 Health Habits Upgrade your Cart - chip edition
