Episode 106 - Kids and Stress
Episode in
Don't Make Me Use My Mom Voice
First, after this episode we will be on a bit of a summer break. It won't be super long, I will be back sooner, probably with Kevan because we live in the same house and it's easier, and Elvina will be back a few weeks later. So if you notice some quiet, don't worry, we all need a breather once in awhile.
Now, the episode!
Stress. We all experience it, we have ways we deal with it, but what about kids? What stresses our kids out? How do they cope? How can we help them? Whether it's school, friends, or events that are happening in the world, we have to remember kids experience the same things we do...they just might not know how to cope. We have to help them understand that being overwhelmed is ok, and there are ways to deal with these feelings. Make sure they feel safe and talk to them about how they are feeling. Our mom this week is JUDY GELLER from Friends! Find us on the socials and write in with your parenting story to momvoicepod@gmail.com.

Sometimes the small things you do for your community get overlooked, but really you're thinking locally instead of trying to make big global impacts. Whatever you do to help your kids become more aware of the world around them and how create change, make sure you do it at a level you can also participate in. Let us know what causes and movements you're involved with and how you involve your offsprings. Find us on Instagram and Facebook, or write to us at momvoicepod@gmail.com. Our mom this week is the the awesomely outrageous, LINDA BELCHER.

Episode 104 - Home Economics Class
Episode in
Don't Make Me Use My Mom Voice
Today we discuss the decline in Home Economic type classes in schools, and the benefit they have on our kids. I'm sure some form of life skills are taught, but from what we can tell, these classes aren't offered as often any more. Why not? Unless we're taking the time to teach our kids how to cook, change tires, balance a budget, and just basic life skills at home, school is the next best place. As we discuss in the episode, make it a compulsory class for everyone to take and make it well rounded for everyone to enjoy it. When we think "Home Ec." our minds go to a room full of girls learning to cook muffins while mending aprons, but it doesn't have to be like that. If your school still offers these classes, that's awesome, if it doesn't, what are your thoughts? Would your child benefit from a life skills type class...maybe call it somethings like "Life Skills Sciences" to make it more generic. Let us know what you think and if you had classes like this in school. Find us on Facebook and Instagram, or email us at momvoicepod@gmail.com. Our mom this week is the amazing CINDY WALSH from the iconic 90s teen drama, Beverly Hills 90210.
