Howard the Duck with Rhea Isaacs

This week we dive into the Rotoscope Lightning madness with the perverted cornerstone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Howard the Duck. Our guest artist extraordinaire is Rhea Isaacs aka Young Earl Grey, whose infectious love of movies and all things 1980s made this interview an absolute joy. We talk horny little weirdos, movie Punks, 80s noir and Rhea's bizarrely specific connection to the Australian Daybill. Howard the Duck is screening at Newfarm Cinemas on August 9th as part of a double feature for BORLFF. Tickets available now.

BMX BANDIT with JAMES HORNSBY

This episode I dive in deep with the fabulous and hilarious photographer, artist and multidisciplinary king JAMES HORNSBY to chat highschool stunts, photography gripes, and getting too old for BMX. Love James. This very special episode will continue into a PATREON episode where we can also safely gossip about the minutae of our old life in Australia's Worst Callcentre. I hope to see you there x Find James' work HERE and HERE Discover the weird and frankly unnerving world of Pokemon Card Unboxing Videos James chats about in this ep's COMFORT FOOD. What a world. We're taking a season break to prerecord some interviews with new exciting guests, and will be back mid-year! Thanks for sticking with me, I love you unconditionally. x o

WINDOWLESS ROOMS with Sajan Rai

My guest today is the gorgeous, sweet and talented Sajan Rai whose work I’ve admired from afar for some time now. He’s a UK based artist whose illustrations depict a gorgeously saturated science fiction fantasy universe that references his south Asian heritage and leans away from the often Eurocentric depictions of the genre. It’s truly beautiful stuff. We had a very good time talking bulk crap about freelancing, the comic book world and how to balance being nice and normal on the internet. If any of you work that out can you let me know? Asking for a friend. Topics THE TWITTER THREAD - Character Edits - hoo boy MOEBIUS REDUX - a great article on the subject by HEAVY METAL  PREQUEL ILLUSTRATOR'S FILTER - weird, weird stuff Find a selection of Sajan's work here -   http://www.sajanrai.co.uk/  https://twitter.com/planetsmudge

Bigmouth Strikes Again with Catriona Drummond

This weeks' guest is the incredibly funny and impossibly clever Catriona Drummond - animator, art director and queen of the moving image. She's worked for a bevvy of major clients, not only creating animations and art in the advertising world, but also bringing honest-to-god-television shows to life. We chat at length about her time as Art Director for the childrens' cartoon turned global phenomenon BLUEY, and its' strangely aggressive fanbase(??), what a world. Absolute banger of an episode that you won't want to miss.  CAT'S WORK - https://www.catrionadrummond.com/ You can find this weeks' Tik Tok Tentrepreneurs over on our Instagram, to really feel the fullness of the cringe in visual form.

The Death of the Internet with Ben Mcleay

Ben Mcleay from the fabulous Boonta Vista Podcast came for a visit this week and we spent approximately ten thousand hours drinking and chatting about the unpredictable nature of freelancing and the weird jobs we've carved out for ourselves. I have mercifully cut this down into about an hour and a half for your listening pleasure. My favourite episode yet, we wade through the murky waters of #hustleandgrind Tik Tok, learn about the habits of successful people (psychotic celebrity routines) and discuss the death of the internet by way of Search Engine Optimisation. Jemima from Bundaberg with Jacqui Cowan

I almost called this episode "EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING." - I would classify this episode as "destined for headphones" - if you're not into heaps of swearing I'd give this one a miss (but don't, it's really funny and great) Today’s ep was recorded way back in September with my amazing friend Jacqui Cowan who is a young and endlessly impressive person that runs a popular brand under the name Lil’ Js’ Vintage. Jacqui has a really great sense of humour about herself and the unique world of events management, markets & vintage fashion that she lives in. This episode is one big storytime for you all. Jacqui just had so many great stories and insight I couldn’t really bring myself to chop it up into too many segments. THAT SAID - I still had to cut out like two freakin’ hours from our interview, we were up all night talking…. and as such I will work on finding the right place to put some extended versions of this episode eventually! But for now, please enjoy the company of one of my funniest, hottest, successful friends, whose life is just as much a comedy of errors as the rest of us. Kind of a relief to be honest. HUGE THANKYOU TO MY GUY AL BATES FOR MY NEW INTRO SONG I LOVE IT I LOVE YOU!!!!!

Ironic Punishments Division of Hell with Sam McKenzie

For our maiden voyage of the pod, I am joined by artist, designer and freakin’ girlboss Sam McKenzie. I do not ask him a single question about what he is working on. Maybe I should rethink this podcast thing. INSTEAD, through a series of ridiculous segments and campfire stories, we get the scoop on some of the hidden truths of freelancing - stolen work, client horrorstories & what we like to call ~MOODBOARDING~ PLUS I force Sam to watch a bunch of horrible little Tik Toks by hustle & grind artists. And finally, we get a keyhole view into the mind of a Scorpio, via Sams’ Youtube landing page algorithm. Artists! They’re just like us! Tune in to Episode 1 of Don’t Worry It’s Not Just You! I love you! Sorry!
