Ep. 9.1: Podcast Update
Episode in
Down the Hill
This is Descendo Collem, formerly known as Down the Hill, where a seminarian discusses topics at "face-value" from philosophy, theology, truth, and more!
Today's episode? After a long hiatus, I provide a small update to the podcast, including a new podcast name, Descendo Collem, finally matching the cover art for this podcast.
Latin for “I descend the hill” I think is an appropriate metaphor to how Christ the Logos comes from the Father and truly becomes flesh, but God all the same. He did so out of great love and mercy for us, and my journey as a seminarian is to configure my heart to such a love.
As I go on to seminary, I hope that I will still be able to upload many more episodes but I of course will be focusing on my formation and my community. For now, you can follow my adventures by signing up for updates on my website, michaeltorregosa.com.
Please continue to pray for me as I begin this new and exciting part of my discernment, and know of my prayers for you all!

CCC1: 1 God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

Episode in
Down the Hill
This is Down the Hill, where an undergraduate student discusses topics at "face-value" from philosophy, theology, truth, and more!
Today's episode? A slightly different pace where Michael and Mica *try* to discuss St. Joseph as well as the Annunciation of the Nativity to Mary. They make a valiant effort at times throughout the episode, but they often go on long tangents on their personalities and lives. Still, it remains a witness to growing in the faith and the invitation that the Church is being called to in this uncertain time - a new Lent!

Ep. 5: The Communion of the Church Today
Episode in
Down the Hill
This is Down the Hill, where an undergraduate student discusses topics at "face-value" from philosophy, theology, truth, and more!
Today's episode? A discussion on the Church today, amid the current health crisis which resulted in the closure of public Masses across the United States and the world. Katherine and Michael discuss their own feelings and thoughts going into this pivotal point in Church History as the Faithful are called to a deeper understanding of the invisible reality that is Communion with God. The hope is that the church will enter into the season of Lent with an even greater desire to increase in Faith, Hope, and Charity as well as begin to consider one's identity given to them by the One who loves perfectly, God.
