The ACOG, along with the AAP, have issued several task force executive summaries regarding neonatal encephalopathy and the criteria required to attribute an intrapartum event to hypoxic-ischemic fetal brain injury. In this podcast we will review the latest guidelines and criteria required to attribute a labor event to the development of neonatal encephalopathy. Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is the most common vaginal infection in women between the ages of 15 and 44. This podcast will review the presentation, work-up, and current CDC treatment guidelines for this condition. Bacterial vaginosis and pregnancy will also be discussed.

It can diminish the woman's quality of life and also significantly contributes to health care costs and time lost from work. This podcast will cover theories on the origin of the condition, management options, and best practices based on the Practice Bulletin (153) from the American College of OB/GYN.

An elevated serum prolactin level may be due to medications, other endocrine disorders, or a pituitary tumor. This podcast will review the pathophysiology, presentation, and management of hyperprolactinemia. Whether a microadenoma or a macroadenoma is present, medical management is the first line of care.

High serum prolactin levels may result from medication use or a pituitary tumor (adenoma). The condition is usually diagnosed after an evaluation of oligomenorrhea and/or infertility. This podcast will review the pathophysiology, presentation, and management of hyperprolactinemia.
