Why to find a mentor

A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you. Mentoring in the old sense of the word is absolutely essential. It’s something where you sit down and work with a team long-term. The trouble is, finding a willing mentor can be difficult. Only some experienced business owners will invest the time and effort to help newcomers, and they don't advertise their availability. Mentoring, after all, is a time-consuming process; so, for the person looking for a mentor, it's rude to assume someone would have the time, patience and interest to help with a startup business without at least some kind of compensation.

Steps to high performance and growth

A lot of people waste their opportunities in life by refusing to work hard and smart. They get offered an opportunity and start working at it but they quickly get tired. They start thinking that their opportunity doesn’t have much potential. They believe their opportunity will not lead to the future they desire. And they accordingly let go of that opportunity. They waste it. You won’t be able to pounce on a new opportunity with outdated skills, but you can’t predict what tomorrow’s sought-after skills will be either.

The Law of Commitment

Success with money begins when we learn to respect money. When we have respect for money we are able to take seriously our need to be responsible with money. When we are responsible with money we escape money guilt and can feel confident in our financial decisions.

Differences Between Employees and Entrepreneurs

Employees a look at responsibility as everything that they have been tasked with, keeping to their own small little corner of that business or organization and trying to avoid taking on too terribly much responsibility in case they and up dropping the ball. Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, embrace all of the aspects of responsibility – and try to take on just as much as they possibly can.

Facing the Fear of Death and Really Living Now

“None of us get out of here alive…” and that is not a bad news.  Accepting your fears of dead doesn’t happen overnight. It can, but oftentimes it takes time and practice. When you first start addressing them, you may experience an increase in mental chatter. Our minds tend to fight us when we are close to overcoming challenges of any kind. For this obstacle, I recommend time alone in meditation. Support the show

UNCERTAINTY AVOIDANCE AND JAPAN

According to Hofstede’s study, Japan is a country with a high Uncertainty Avoidance Index. This means that it is a country which tends to avoid uncertainty and ambiguity, reflected in the creation of a society which maximizes risk avoidance through the creation of rules and regulations. This also implies that people, in order to perform, need to get security in exchange! High-risk avoidance can also be reflected in a less open attitude towards what is different and foreign. This conservatism is maintained also in other characteristics of Japanese society, e.g. its strict hierarchical structure.  Support the show
