The first season of Channel Zero focused on a child psychologist who returns home to investigate the mysterious children's television show Candle Cove and its connection to the death of children, including his brother, in the 80's. Pages and Panels #111: Malachi Ward/Matt Sheean and Ancestor

On this episode Kyle is joined by creators Malachi Ward and Matt Sheean to talk about their recently collected Image series, Ancestor. The series originally was serialized in Brandon Graham and Emma Rios' Island anthology and now has been collected into a stand alone trade. Matt and Malachi discuss working in the serialized format, framing panels, working as a team, pace and developing characters in a story that takes place in a short amount of time (relatively speaking, go read the story!). Pages and Panels #109: Wren McDonald and SP4RX

 On this episode of Pages and Panels, Kyle is joined by creator Wren McDonald to talk about his new comic SP4RX. It’s a story of an off the grid hacker named SP4RX who lives in a cyber punk future with class dived society. During the course of a job SP4RC finds himself pulled into the diabolical plot of mega corporation looking to weaponize the poor with their cybernetic implants. Wren talks about tacking his first long form story, the art of mineralization, hand lettering and telling a story in each panel.  A huge thanks to Wren for taking the time to talk about his process and the series. Pages and Panels #108: Austin James and Hollow Mountain: The Long Shadow

On this episode on Pages and Panels, Kyle is joined by creator Austin James to talk about his series Hollow Mountain. The successful Kickstarter project, now Buño book is about the journey of Nicolas, an amnesiac boy, and a young girl named Roz through the land of Paeroa. Joined by Gebs, an ape man, and a talking backpack the group works to avoid the pursuit of the Cloaks, creatures who destroyed Roz’s home and have unknown intentions. Austin talks building the story out from a short comic, building the lore of the series, introducing breaks in the story to enhance pacing and writing kids.
