When we lose hope for the future strength in the present is stolen. What are you fixing your hopes onto? Yourself? A politician? Hope has a name and that name is Jesus

The Holidays have a way of awakening something inside of us. Nostalgia, an ache for home, is a reminder to us that we aren’t were we should be. We are not yet HOME. Christmas songs, movies and gatherings will awaken something inside us. A longing for home.

Acts 20, the Apostle Paul will give the Ephesians elders a sobering “wake up call”. Paul knows he will be arrested and that the Ephesians will be attacked by “fierce wolves” and “twisted” preachers. We are at war! But be of good cheer, the war has already been won!

In Acts 19 we see the birth of the church at Ephesus. It begins so strong: miracles, faith and repentance. Today, you’d be hard pressed to find a Christian in Ephesus (Modern day Turkey) let alone a church. What happened? According to Revelation 2, the Church simply ran out of gas. Do you have enough gas in the tank to finish your race?

Acts 18, Paul hits a low point in his ministry. God draws near to Paul and strengthens him through: Providence, Presence and People. With that, you have everything you need to do all God has called you to do.

In Acts 17, Paul is provoked by the idolatry of Athens. He points out an altar to “The Unknown God” and declares, “I know Him”. Paul will point to God in nature, culture and the human heart to win ‘some’ to Christ. Do you know Him?

Paul and Silas answer the call of God to go to Macedonia. God will open a young woman’s heart named Lydia. He will deliver a slave girl from the demonic. And will soften the heart of a Philippians jailer. All through prayer. Prayer makes anything possible.

The early Church hits some turbulence, as Gentile and Jewish cultures collide. The Church gathers and finds their AMEN from the Lord. The Church is unified and the Gentiles celebrate. Later however, Paul and Barnabas will have a heated disagreement. They agree to disagree and move forward.

Are you a ‘Rise Up’ person? Jesus rose up. Lazarus rose up. The man crippled from birth rose up. Christians are not those that never get knocked down, rather, we are a people that always rise up! There are moments the Lord calls us into a deeper walk with Him. Before Joshua and God’s people could enter into the Land of Promise, God called them deeper. Consecrate yourself for tomorrow God will do great things. Consecration brings: Presence, Perspective and Power

Alignment=Power. In Acts 13, the church at Antioch sends off Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary journey. As they align with the Lord and one another, the Gospel goes out in power and the Church grows

The Apostle James becomes the first of the disciples to be martyred. We have no record of the church praying for James. Peter is arrested and the church is awakened to the power of prayer. A praying church is a dangerous church. Peter is miraculously set free and the gospel continues to spread

How would you answer the question: Who are you? The identity question is a big one. The devil would like nothing more than to confuse your identity in Christ. If he can control your identity, he can control your activity. Who are you?

Acts 10- the Gospel goes out to the Gentiles. With the Gospel and the Holy Spirit you have your unfair advantage to reach the world. Do you know your unfair advantage?

In Acts 9, Jesus saves the most unlikely man in the world. Saul, would later be known as Paul, meets Jesus on a Damascus road and encounters something we all need…….GRACE.

All the data is in, where men are responsible, strong, loving the world flourishes and when they aren’t the world burns. Period. God has a unique calling for men to walk out. In today’s message, the Apostle Paul challenges the Corinthians to “Act like Men”. Enjoy the talk!

In Acts 8 we watch the life of Philip in action. He goes from Philip the “waiter” to Philip the Evangelist. The only person given that title in the scriptures. Philip had one prayer, “Lord, give me one more.” Who is your ‘one more’?

We continue in our walk through the Book of Acts. In Acts 6-7 we meet Stephen, a man full of faith in the Holy Spirit. Stephen would become the church’s first martyr. This tragedy would turn to triumph: Saul will become Paul, the gospel will spread from Jerusalem to the Nations. Stephen will become received into the loving arms of Jesus. A tragedy transformed into a triumph.
