This podcast used to be “The modern girls (and guys) guide to financial success while still looking cute on a budget of course” and has now changed to teaching millennials and Gen Z how to save, pay off debt and pay themselves first. Who are we? I am Taylor the financial savvy best friend and my co-host is Lyndsay (she calls herself my financial illiterate best friend). Follow along as we laugh our way through podcast episodes while hopefully providing insight into personal finance and the trials and wins we experience while navigating our 20's.

From 9-5 to Entrepreneur ft. Kelsey Fish

Episode 13 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast! We had a very fun, energetic and successful boss lady join us for the episode. Kelsey left her 9-5 job, about a year ago, that she landed from following the 'path' society tells us to follow. "You get the degree, you get the job, then aren't you supposed to be fulfilled"? She is now a virtual health and fitness coach along with a mindset mentor. We dive into some questions about how money played a part in her switching paths, does she budget and the stigma around veering from the norm. You can follow along on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook & TikTok @fashionsensefinancemess.

Does Love Cost A Thing?

Welcome to Episode 11 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast! This episode is probably one of my favourites that we have recorded so far. Lynds and I are both in heterosexual relationships so a lot of our experiences are from that perspective.  We dive into money and relationships starting with Valentines Day and how expensive it can be with the expectations society puts on the day and especially the burden put on the guy.  We talk about about first dates and who is expected to pay. How it can be a big financial expense for men especially when the other party is not considering the cost of their date ideas. How we do not consciously think about the other persons financial situation.  We go over some male opinions from our friends in a conversation we had before the podcast. One has always taken on the job of paying for the first couple of dates but likes when the girl at least offers. Then we jump into the topic of when should you start merging your finances in a relationship and lastly we touch on the topic of prenups. You can follow along on Instagram, Pinterest & Facebook @fashionsensefinancemess. Let us know your thoughts on this episode and what you do to take care of yourself financially! -T & L

Are You Taking Care of Yourself Financially?

Welcome to Episode 9 (first episode of season 2!) of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast! Here is the first episode of 2021!!! We talk about how important it is to take care of yourself financially! What does that mean? Why don't we focus on that as much as we focus on eating healthy and exercising? Taking care of yourself financially is saying no to doing things when they do not fit in your budget. It is budgeting money to be spent on fun things that make you happy so you don't binge spend. You can follow along on Instagram, Pinterest & Facebook @fashionsensefinancemess. Let us know your thoughts on this episode and what you do to take care of yourself financially! -T & L

New Year, New Me?

Welcome to Episode 8 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast! This episode we talk about 2020 and the year it has been! Not looking backwards and finding things that make us happy in our new normal. We looked at what changed for us pre-pandemic to now. We went over our money goals and life goals for 2021. How starting small, maybe working out 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes will keep you from being frustrated and sticking to your goals rather than starting 7 days a week for an hour.  Find out what happened to Lyndsay and why emergency savings and sinking funds are very important! You can follow along on Instagram, Pinterest & Facebook @fashionsensefinancemess. Let us know your thoughts on this episode and what you are excited for in 2021. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and here is to 2021! -T & L

I Can Talk About Sex But Not Money?

Welcome to Episode 7 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast! This episode we talk about the stigma around money and how crazy it is that we can casually talk about boobs and blow jobs but that talking about a budget and asking what someone makes can be considered rude! We dive into the topic of money when it comes to relationships and how laying all your financial information out can be harder than just getting naked. We also touch on how what you make is not your self worth and I ask Lynd's some questions about how she feels about her significant other making significantly more. You can follow along on Instagram, Pinterest & Facebook @fashionsensefinancemess. Let us know your thoughts on this episode and if you have a hard time talking about money with family, friends or your significant other! -T & L

Credit Cards

Welcome to Episode 6 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast! This episode we talk all things credit cards. I know this episode is almost 48 minutes but I promise it is not boring even though our topic might not sound exciting. We go over our relationships with credit cards, what our first ones were, how we use them and I give some tips on how to start slow when it comes to credit cards. This one is becoming one of my favourite episodes so far that we have recorded. Listen so you can hear what I think is the most ridiculous advice Lynds got when it came to her credit card and of course she provides us with the funniest stories when it comes to her finances. You can follow along on Instagram, Pinterest & Facebook @fashionsensefinancemess. Let us know your thoughts on this episode and if you have a good relationship with your credit card! -T & L
