Filmografun is a podcast where Genji Sato-Fraser and Scott Guy talk about every film in an actor's filmography, each movie chosen at random. We won't know what movie we're going to watch until literally two minutes before we watch it, which is actually a lot braver than it may sound.

In Season 1 we dive head first into the Sandlerverse. I think we can all agree that there's a lot to love about Adam Sandler, but there's no question he's gone down a road in recent years that only the hardened Sandler fans have wanted to follow him down. A rabbit hole some might say.

Scott and Genji count themselves among these hardened Sandler fans, and they are determined to burrow into this hole, get as deep down into it as it's possible to get, see what happens. Because don't forget, for every Wedding Singer, there's a Jack and Jill. For every Billy Madison, there's a Grown Ups 2. For every Happy Gilmore, there's a Ridiculous 6.

Stay tuned for a new episode every Monday, cos things are gonna get weird.

Episode 12 - Hotel Transylvania (Feat. Neilesh Verma)

This week we're joined by Neilesh Verma, in our extra special, very spooky Halloween (AKA Scott's birthday) episode. And in keeping with the theme, we sat down and watched 2011's Hotel Transylvania, the animated children's movie where Adam Sandler plays an over-protective Dracula Dad. Weird thing is, we didn't choose this movie.... the movie chose us.

Episode 11 - Bulletproof

This week we watched 1996's Bulletproof, starring Adam Sandler as a bipolar criminal who screams a lot, and Damon Wayans as robocop. Have you seen 48 Hours? Last Boy Scout? Lethal Weapon? Rush Hour? Then you've got a pretty good idea of how this movie plays out: a multiracial pairing must bring down a criminal mastermind despite their many differences, by joking around while murdering dozens of people. In real life I imagine murder wouldn't really be a laughing matter, but then again I've never murdered anyone so I guess I don't know for sure. It might be hilarious! Anyway, in this episode we do Morgan Freeman impressions at the very beginning, so at least listen to that much.

Episode 10 - Funny People

Funny People! A movie starring (arguably) some very, very funny people. What could go wrong? Well it's two and a half hours long, for starters. And we started watching it at 9pm on a Monday night, while heavily drinking. And the thing about a two and a half hour Sandler movie is - it means you're gonna be drinking for two and a half hours. So to say this episode flies off the rails is a pretty big understatement. Oh and if you're a fan of chewing noises into the mic, you're in luck! Cos Genji brought his dinner! He also sneezes a lot! The good news is we recorded the episode on some high end microphones provided to us by previous guest and friend of the show Tom Judd, so at least all that chewing and sneezing was recorded in the highest of quality. In all seriousness, this is our best, most polished episode to date - if this isn't good enough to make our podcast at least moderately popular, then I'm all out of ideas. Enjoy!

Episode 9 - Dirty Work

Another week, another Adam Sandler movie. Except we rolled Dirty Work, which is actually a Norm MacDonald movie with a brief Sandler cameo, an insane Chris Farley in his final role, Chevy Chase being Chevy Chase, Shooter McGavin reprises his role as Shooter McGavin (pretty much), and there's even one scene with John Goodman for whatever reason. Is the movie worth watching? Listen and find out! To be honest we struggled with this one, which is why we go off on tangents about revenge fantasies and James Bond movies. Oh and of course, big shout out to Derek the Robot for doing the intro and outtro for the episode. Love ya Derek! Enjoy!

Episode 8 - Reign Over Me

Join us this week as we watch Reign Over Me, in our BEST EPISODE YET! We talk PTSD, suicide, dead families, 9/11, the holocaust, I mean the list is endless. Hot button issue after hot button issue, we tackle this shit head on and we come out on the other side laughing our asses off. At least Genji was laughing a lot, I remember that much. I guess you've gotta listen to it to really 'get' it. Oh, and don't miss the very beginning (where I explain a couple things about what's going on with the podcast) and the very end (which I threw in there just for fun). Enjoy!

Episode 7 - Anger Management (feat. Tom Judd)

It's our longest and loosest episode yet, and we're joined by our first ever guest Tom Judd! This week the three of us attempted to start watching an Adam Sandler movie at 11pm on a Monday night, before quickly realising that this isn't the kind of thing you do sober. Several beers and whiskeys later and we were more than ready to delve deep into 2003's Anger Management - a movie that Genji somehow has memorised word for word despite having only seen it once at the movies thirteen years ago. Stick around until the end for our new segment of the show, where we pitch our own idea for a Sandler movie. Enjoy!

Episode 6 - Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo

After a month-long hiatus (sorry about that), Scott and Genji are back, and this week they're watching the Deuce Bigalow sequel where now he's in Europe, or whatever. Look, I won't lie, this movie was difficult to analyse. When a film gives you a sneezing dick nosed lady, a guy eating soggy chips out of a toilet, and a pack of dolphins mauling the elderly, sure, you can try and look for meaning behind that. But of course, if you stare too hard into the abyss, sometimes the abyss stares back at you. And yes, when I say 'abyss' I am referring to Rob Scheider's sense of humour. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, this movie features four seconds worth of Adam Sandler.

Episode 5 - Big Daddy

Episode 5! Scott and Genji watch Big Daddy, the heartwarming, classic 1999 Sandler film where he teaches a five year old how to maim rollerbladers. We have our first Buscemi appearance, we have the golden trifecta of Dante, Covert and Loughran, we have Rob Schneider at his ethnically vague best. This movie has all the ingredients for pure Sandler greatness, but does it still hold up after all these years?

Episode 4 - Eight Crazy Nights

This week Genji and Scott watch 2002's Eight Crazy Nights, a film starring Adam Sandler, Adam Sandler, and Adam Sandler. We talk magical deer, Sandlerverse conspiracy theories, the sheer hilarity of an old man covered in human feces, and we ask the all important question: Just how much product placement can one man shove into one eighty minute movie?

Episode 3 - Blended

This week, we watch 2014's Blended, the surprisingly heartfelt story of real-life Adam Sandler going on a holiday to Africa with all his friends. We talk bird shit, bad burgers, theorise on the magical nature of Terry Crews, discover the Barrymore Bellow, and debut our as-yet-unnamed Twitter segment.  Also, this movie only came out a couple years ago, and it includes at least two scenes where Adam Sandler ACTUALLY acts. That's gotta be worth something.

Episode 2 - Bedtime Stories

This week, Scott and Genji watch 2008's Bedtime Stories, and are shocked to the core by the very real possibility that reality as we know it is being controlled by a magical bug-eyed guinea pig. Also, Adam Sandler eats toothpaste and wheat germ...

Episode 1 - Little Nicky

In this first episode of Filmografun, Genji and Scott talk about Little Nicky. We talk about Ape Demons, Jon Lovitz in a tree, backflipping dogs, fried chicken, Henry Winkler covered in bees, the list is endless. I mean what more could you ask for in a movie? A consistent plot? A believable love interest? Not being bombarded by blatant product placement? Bah, who needs it, this movie's got a guy with boobs on his head.
