  In this “Five Minute Friday,” I dive in to the Burden of Social Media Perfection facing our current student-athletes. We’ll unpack how social media can paint an unrealistic view of life, how it’s nothing more than a highlight reel designed to capture the “best of the best,” and an uncommon way to combat the pressure for perfection online.

  This episode excites me for a couple of reasons.  First, Lisa brings the fire and shares so much actionable insight.  I was taking notes (in fact, you can actually hear that at times since i forgot to mute my microphone).  She breaks down what E+R=O means, how it affects teams, and touches on the 1% mindset. This conversation was organic and I liked how we both were at ease letting the conversation go where it wanted to go naturally – “Strommie” as she’s affectionately known around the golf world, is a master at sharing her thoughts in a way that resonates with those who listen – I jumped at the chance to have a chat with her for this show….and that leads me to reason number two why this episodes excites the heck outta me. It’s the first official interview and sets the tone for future episodes.  I learned that my interview skills are rusty, but I also learned that I love this format and showcasing other folks. Hey Y’all – In this “Five Minute Friday,” I talk about the difference between being Best Friends and being Good Teammates. Especially on small rosters, it’s easy to blur that line and assume that everybody should be hanging out together all the time.  It’s tough in this generation, especially as everything gets broadcast and amplified via social media. It’s healthy and necessary, however, to not spend every waking moment with your teammates.  It breeds an even stronger atmosphere in the long-run! The bottom line:  To be good teammates it is NOT imperative to be best friends.  The two are not mutually exclusive. Thanks y’all – now go Be Brilliant! P.S.
