And just like that, Canada are Olympic gold medal champions. Wow. Just ... wow. It's not like us to have trouble finding words, and yet. This episode was tough for us to do justice. Beating the USA for the first time in 20 years. Winning Olympic gold in a nerve-wracking and challenging final. Our final episode. These are all such Big Deals for us. But, like always, we we sat down and started talking about what we love—the Canadian women's national team. We admit, it feels like absolute poetry we had the privilege of ending on this glorious high note. After coming second in Group E following a draw with Great Britain, Canada opposed Brazil in the quarter-finals and will advance to the semi-finals following a dramatic win in penalty kicks.
