Hey! Thanks for joining us! We're going very slow at the beginning, but I trust that we will pick up steam as we become more comfortable with what Pope Pius X is saying and how he likes to say things.  I used newadvent.org, a Catholic Dictionary (there's one at catholicculture.org) and of course, Pascendi itself, found here.  https://forpetessakepodcast.com/ @forpetessakepodcast on insta forpetessake266@gmail.com

A very good place to start! We read the introduction to Pascendi Dominici Gregis today and had some discussion on authority and other good stuff.  Resources mentioned:  Teaching with Authority by Jimmy Akin (catholic.shop.com is impossible to link to, sorry!)  forpetessake266@gmail.com @forpetessakepodcast on instagram!  See you next week!

Thank you so much for listening! You can read Pascendi Dominici Gregis free here on the Vatican Website, or you can buy it here from Leaflet Missal. We will start next week! See you then!

We're discussing Fratelli Tutti: Memory today, in Chapter 7.  Liz talks about her parish promoting the KoPC townhall, for which she was SUPER PUMPED: https://www.kofpc.org/kpc_social_justice_resources.php (Also your friendly neighborhood #blacklivesaresacred girl wants to recommend Fr Cyprian Davis's book, which arrived six weeks after order and is DELIGHTFUL AND A JOY FOREVER. I'd recommend the book over the town hall because it can't get cut off for time - all of the speakers at the town hall had way more info than they had time for! - if you have only time for one, but why not both?)  Check us out on insta and facebook!

Paragraphs 215-223 of Fratelli Tutti today! We discuss encountering others in children's education (we're sorry but homeschooling is totally our thing, okay!), ESL, and authentic kindness, and what that looks like in the boy children.  We chatted about these resources:  www.teacherspayteachers.com https://native-land.ca/ <- A map to help you identify which native people group lived where you live now!  Lessons from Turtle Island: Native Curriculum in Early Childhood Classrooms  Heritagemom.com <- Black literature and history for kids, a Liz Favorite A Broken Flute <- Get your library to buy this book! It's a great reference, but very expensive for the average budget.  Charlotte Mason's Series <- read the 20 principles and Home Education for stuff on kindness/habits.

We're discussing paragraphs 199-214 of Fratelli Tutti, found here.  We chat about the podcast Nice White Parents, a NYT podcast found here, and how they did dialogue, as well as a bunch of other things, but we didn't have many recommendations this week!  What is one tip you have for talking politics with people?  Do you look out for the people who are not there?  Connect with us on instagram and facebook! Welcome back to For Pete's Sake.  Today we will be going through Chapter 5 : 170-185. Now after setting the stage with what populism has done to our political atmosphere, Pope Francis is going to talk in a little more detail, especially on an international level, what changes need to take place.  It is not a complete economic blueprint, but a better lens of what kind of political change is going to need to look through.  Once again we are brought back to solidarism and subsidiary rhetoric and the notion of Catholic Distributism.
