Dr Claude leads the Eye Department at Honiara Referral Hospital. He personally performed over 100 eye surgeries in 2013 and he shows extraordinary determination to help blind people see again in his home country of the Solomon Islands.

Maarten is the Country Manager in Papua New Guinea. He leads the team of doctors and nurses in Madang in restoring sight to the local population. Maarten shares his thoughts about life in Madang, the overall mission in PNG and the challenges they face along the way.

Sister Monika Vaipuna is the daughter of a patient named Lusia who had her cataracts removed when the outreach team was on the island of Savai'i earlier this year. She shares her thoughts about her mum's struggles with blindness and how it has effected the whole family. Sister Monika also shares her joy when Lusia has a successful outcome and can see her loved ones again.

Professor Judith McCool is a Senior Lecturer at the Global Health School of Population Health, University of Auckland. She works on numerous public health projects across the Pacific and works closely with The Foundation to coordinate meaningful research to guide future program strategy.

Melissa Gong is an eye nurse with The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ clinic in Madang.

Sister Alumita is the Nursing Tutor at The Pacific Eye Institute in Suva, Fiji. She's involved in the training of nurses from multiple countries on the PGDEC course.
