We’re back!!! In this episode, we discuss the French novel Claudine at School by Colette, published in 1900, a shockingly queer story that follows the adventures of a fifteen-year-old school girl. It's a funny story full of drama, a lot of queerness, some pencil eating, and snails. In this extremely long episode, our queer literary friends Joseph and Vee explore the 1891 novel Left to Themselves by Edward Prime-Stevenson. Potentially the first real queer YA story to be published, Left to Themselves is a novel that had been forgotten by most until its most recent edition.  Spoiler: It was an extremely wild ride. Our hosts discuss the author in detail, give you a full rundown of what happens in the story, and get completely sappy about the importance of this book in terms of the history of Queer YA.
