Future Imminent Podcast – Season 1 Introduction
Episode in
Future Imminent
Transcript:
Beginning in the 15th century there was the age of discovery.
Within it there was the discovery of a new idea: humanity’s rational belief in itself, one of those philosophies would come to be known as humanism, soon after than in the 17th century came rationalism.
They gained traction and more support through the scientific discoveries of the enlightenment age and the growth in available power of our species brought on by the industrial revolution. Then, beginning in the 20th century a new philosophy emerged.
Some humanists and rationalists hypothesized that humanity should soon be able to improve at a greater rate through the new means that had been discovered. This idea to accelerate progress is futurism.
Today they work diligently to bring the best outcome of the future to fruition, and at the same time warn of the imminent nature of that future.
I’m Felix: host of Future Imminent. In this program our goal is to interview these individuals to learn more about the future, predictions about it, and what they are doing to make it happen.
We will cover a wide variety of subjects with our guests that include: automation, aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, astronomy, biochemical engineering, CRISPR, ecology, life extension, transhumanism, and virtual environments.
The Future is very Imminent indeed.
