In this episode of Theology Re-Examined, I sit down with Dr. Zena Hitz to discuss her newest book, "A Philosopher Looks at the Religious Life", where she discusses her experience of going to live in a religious community for three years amongst monks, nuns, friars, ect. The monastic lifestyle taught Zena many things, all of which she wants to share with us. In our conversation, we talk about why she chose to live this lifestyle, the type of commitment it takes, what her daily life was like, internet and phone restrictions, what she carried into her normal life, and her unique perspective as a philosopher.
