Zoe has worked for the BBC, the Guardian, the New York Times and other leading media outlets covering topics from gambling addiction to extremism in sub-Saharan Africa. MLC media students Hannah, Emily and Lucy sat down with her to discuss what inspired her to pursue journalism and her advice for aspiring journalists.

The Years 7-11 Dance Showcase is coming up on the 29th of June. To celebrate, we spoke with Emma, Scarlett and April about their creative process for choreographing their dances, as well as what attendees to the performance can expect.

This week we're continuing the trend of celebrating our collegians with a flashback episode. Two of our students caught up with collegian and author Suzanne Harrison to discuss her 2021 book, The Colour of Thunder. As aspiring authors themselves, they ask about her writing process, where she draws inspiration, and what it takes to become a published author.

As part of our MLC All-Stars series, we welcomed collegian Christine Bamford to discuss her being awarded the UWA Winthrop Scholarship. Christine talks about how the scholars were chosen, what the scholarship means to her, and her tips for anyone pursuing a similar goal.

This week, MLC Student Leaders Jade (Year 12) and Izzie (Year 6) interview collegian Maya Farah about her experience taking part in the Menzies Emerging Leaders Program. They discuss what she has learned, what it takes to be a great leader, and how they hope to use their leadership skills to shape the future.

Year 8 student Saieshaa and her mum Dr Hemah Sakara are heading to Fiji to help with the opening of the first Children's Heart Hospital. MLC Chaplain Simone Smalley catches up with them to find out more about their important work, and what the MLC Community can do to support them.

This week our Head of Student Leadership Mr Guggisberg speaks with Leadership Prefect Stella and her executive Gian. They discuss the new and exciting changes to the Walton Leadership Institute and the many ways leadership skills are vital in everyday life.

This week we flash back to one of our first episodes. Collegian (then Year 12 media student) Grace speaks with journalist and documentary filmmaker Zoe Flood. They discuss Zoe's best memories at MLC, her career highlights and what it takes to work in journalism. After studying History and Politics at Oxford University, Zoe went on to work and live in Nairobi for the past 10 years, reporting on conflict and post-conflict situations for international media outlets.

Flourishing Futures is a week-long program that gives Year 10s the opportunity to experience a workplace, as well as learning new skills through micro-credential courses.
