The "With God" Life - "Holy" Stephen Walker-Williams considering the passage in Jesus’ farewell discourse where we are reminded that the world will be against Jesus’ disciples, just as they were against Him during his life, and that we need to be truly filled with and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live the ‘with God’ life.

But how can we do that when life is so busy and often so complicated? Dave shares some important principles we can all use to hold on to who God is.

We are called to be obedient to God’s call and purposes, but not out of a sense of duty…rather out of love for him. Do we get that balance of love and obedience right in our own lives, and is there perhaps something that God is calling us into and to which we need to respond?

"The Hope that Keeps Us Going" Maria Bond discusses how Paul encouraged the Colossian church and asks whether we truly appreciate the riches of God’s word and seek to share this with both believers and unbelievers. Are we also serving God with all our heart and energy, yet at the same time relying on God’s direction and resourcing?

"Your Kingdom Come" (05) Maria Bond continues with the studies of the Lord's prayer and considers the unstoppable nature of God’s Kingdom. She reflects on the four key seasons of the Kingdom (the perfect Kingdom, the rejected Kingdom, the partial Kingdom and the perfect Kingdom) and encourages that, as believers we are in the Kingdom of God, and as this abuts with other Kingdoms we need to be prepared and willing to share the Gospel at that border!

“The ‘With God’ Life” (01) Dave Criddle commencing a new summer series, looking at John 15 (parable of the vine and the branches) and reflecting upon what it means to be fruitful in our Christian lives.

As Christians, we are never promised that our circumstances will be changed, but rather that God will be with us throughout, and that all things taken together can work for good. We can be encouraged from these verses that: 1) Bad can be turned to good. 2) Good can’t be taken away. 3) The best is yet to come.

"Christ in us the hope of glory" (14) Malcolm Duncan looking at Colossians 1: 27 where Paul makes the gospel message very personal for the Colossian Christians to whom he is writing: he encourages them that as saved believers, they have Christ in them already, and can thus be confident of eternity in heaven with Christ.

"Holy is Your Name" (04) Malcolm Duncan teaching from Matt. 6:9. We easily understand that God himself is holy, but why should his name also be hallowed? To a Jew, a person’s name was more than a means of identification, but rather a reflection of their character…..and thus God’s name was to be respected as God and His name were one and the same.

"The hope of a life surrendered to the cause of Christ" (13) Dave Criddle considering what it means for each of us to fully surrender our lives to the cause of Christ.

Dave Criddle bringing a word of encouragement from Matthew 20 v10 "...when they first came, they thought they would receive more." Dave sensed that some were deflated and disappointed as they had expected more…..recognition, fulfillment, fun, satisfaction. Jesus could identify with this sense of disappointment (as he did when on the cross, with friends who had deserted him). But Jesus turns our eye to Revelation, and the promise that one day we will not be disappointed as will be no more tears or pain.

"Taking hold of life" Dave Criddle takes a look at Paul’s guidance on maintaining focus, and encourages us to stay true to the focus/direction which God has appointed for us.
