Episode 10: Katherine Wolf

Vaneetha Rendall Risner is a freelance writer and regular contributor to Desiring God, who blogs at danceintherain.com. She is married to Joel and has two daughters, Katie and Kristi. She and Joel live in Raleigh, North Carolina. Vaneetha is the author of the book The Scars That Have Shaped Me: How God Meets Us in Suffering. This episode is full of truth with stories of God’s presence in suffering and the hope that His presence brings.

Heather Medley is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Berry College and her Master of Arts in Counseling from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. In this episode, Stacey and Heather talk through grief, trauma, and the ways it can inch its way into all areas of our lives. 

Hayley Waldron, a native of Nashville, TN, attended Harding University where she met her husband, Harrison, and graduated with a degree in psychology. Before she could begin her Master’s in counseling, Harrison suffered a near fatal brain injury in 2015 that left him disabled and changed their lives forever. With Harrison as her inspiration, she is now a registered nurse with hopes to help others who suffer from illness and injury. Though they’re on a path they didn’t plan for, their experiences have given Hayley opportunities to write and speak about the Lord’s faithfulness and presence in their lives.

Episode 4: Eric & Ruth Brown

Jana Bailey spends this episode bravely walking the listener through the day her husband was shot and killed at their home- a story that many would call their worst nightmare. Jana is both candid in the trauma and grief she has faced; while also expressing the great presence of God she has experienced in her own unique story. 

Stacey Booth, 34, lives in Birmingham, AL with her two kiddos, Nola, 6, and Grey, 5. Stacey lost her husband, Brad, in November of 2017 to a rare form of cancer.  The Lord has led her to share her candid perspective on what it looks like to grieve the loss of a spouse while clinging to the hope and the truth of the gospel. 

Morgan Cheek is a wife, mom of three - two on earth and one in heaven - speaker, author of On Milk and Honey and Are We There Yet?, and most importantly, a person who longs to find her identity in Jesus. Morgan’s six-year-old daughter, Bailey Grace, went to heaven on July 13, 2019. This episode is a conversation about weakness, strength, and the ways that God and community have sustained Morgan in these early days of earthly loss.
