Hinde Street and St. Marylebone Parish Church continue their tradition of a pulpit swap - this time, we welcome Rev Katy Hacker Hughes to preach for us, while Peter Cornick visits St. Marylebone in turn. We value this tradition as a way for us Methodists and Anglicans to forge connections across denominations, all under one loving God.

On Remembrance Sunday (12/11) the sermon at the 11am worship was delivered by Kerry Scarlett, the Vice-President of the Methodist Conference. Kerry spoke eloquently on the experiences of trauma, displacement, guilt and fragmentation in the face of violence both in the past and in the present.  Alongside her appointment as Vice-President, Kerry also acts as the Learning & Development Officer for the West Midlands Methodist region and as co-founder of the West Midlands Anti-Slavery Network and Adavu. We encourage you to support Adavu by following them on social media and considering a donation. Matt Forsyth from All We Can, a Methodist international development & emergency relief organisation, speaks on charity in a special sermon delivered at our Harvest service. All collections from this service were donated to All We Can, along with which we also gathered Harvest gifts of food for the Euston Foodbank.

In honour of Black History Month 2023, Hinde Street had the privilege to host Margaret Greer, a National Officer at the trade union UNISON who also acts as Labour councillor in Enfield, and as London District Representative to the Methodist Church Conference. This Sunday (22/10), Margaret delivered a thoughtful, evocative, and informative reflection on Black History Month. She spoke about the role of Black History in Britain, taking on leadership roles in professional and religious spheres as a black woman, and the importance of the ongoing fight for equality, diversity and inclusion.
