Historium #13: Wealth Beyond Measure

Episode in Historium
Who do you think was the richest person to ever live? Bill Gates? John D. Rockefeller? Scrooge McDuck? When Europe was in the depths of the dark ages, Mansa Musa Keita led the Mali Empire through a time of tremendous prosperity. And he collected a whole lot of wealth in the process and changed the way Africa was viewed by the world. Notes: -I say in the introduction that some experts put Musa's wealth in the trillions of today's dollars. After some research, I found that someone may have been being a bit hyperbolic. However, it is true that most scholars say the number would be in the triple digit billions or it's impossible to put a number on his wealth in modern terms. Music: -Meniere's Vertigo by Melodium -Civilization VI Kongo Theme by Geoff Knorr -Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin -Juve and Fandor by Amiina -Civilization VI Arabia Theme by Geoff Knorr -Patience by the Lumineers -Pfeifferhorn by OK Ikumi
