Iain Broome

The first three chapters of the audiobook version of A is for Angelica (Legend Press), a novel by Iain Broome. Available now on Audible in the UK and US. Read by Tim Bruce. Published by Oakhill Publishing in 2015.

The second chapter from my novel, A is for Angelica, published by Legend Press. 'A first novel that confidently moves from dark comedy that’s genuinely funny to even darker despair that grows from moving to harrowing… really impressive’ The Daily Mail ‘An oddly addictive and often hilarious read… Presented in uncomplicated, unembellished prose, this is a brilliant and adeptly written debut novel, loaded with poignancy and feeling.’ Time Out "...a brilliant dark comedy, with beautiful moments of pathos." I used to be in a band. I talked about it on my podcast. I said I would link to one of our songs, which was a) recorded with a dictaphone, and b) lacking someone who could play bass guitar. I'm the one doing most of the attempted singing.

This is an extract from the chapter New Testament, which comes roughly a third into my debut novel, A is for Angelica.
