Episode 14: Andy McNab – Bravo Two Zero – Life in the SAS
Andy McNab needs no introduction. Put the fame and fortune of being an international best-selling author to one side and take note! Andy formed part of Bravo Two Zero the call sign of an eight-man British Army SAS patrol, deployed into Iraq during the First Gulf War in January 1991.After their mission was compromised Andy was captured, tortured and viciously interrogated. Andy, however, did eventually return home which wasn’t the case for three of his patrol who were killed in action. After his escape, he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal and Military Medal during his career. It is reported at the time that Macnab was the British Army’s most highly decorated serving soldier when he left the SAS in 1993.He went on to write Bravo Two Zero which went on to become an international best seller and was later turned into a film which featured Sean Bean who played McNab. Further books and films have thrown McNab into the spotlight and positioned him as the go-to man for many of Hollywoods directors to consult for action movies to ensure authenticity. We catch up with Andy on the wake of his new book release Cold BloodDOWNLOAD AUDIOSUBSCRIBEAndy McNabEssential Learning Points From This Episode: When you experience a life or death situation that’s when the SAS training really kicks inThe army provides you with a solid foundation to learn, the rest is up to the individual It isn’t just physical ability needed for the SAS it’s having the mental capacity to withstand the pressures and stressImportant Links & Mentions From This Episode: Andy McNab official website Andy McNab on Twitter Andy McNab on FacebookAndy’s new release – Cold Blood Thank You for Tuning In!At Impact Lifestyle it is our mission to interview the very best guests that can educate, entertain and inspire our listeners to go on and achieve success in life. Weekly Roundup #05 / Goal Setting / Measuring Success / Repairing Relationships
Welcome once again to the weekly roundup show. How do you know if you have had a productive week? It’s that time again. The weekly roundup show is back with a bang. The show where I review, rant and revise all that’s gone on throughout the week at Impact HQ. I follow on from Wednesday show where I interviewed Professor Mike Barnes and discussed CBD oil and medical marijuana.I was shocked by my findings of the prescribed drugs industry in America and how corrupt the who political system is. Well with regards to the pharmaceutical industry. I recommend a couple of my favourite drug-related documentaries. Why you shouldn’t bank with the Metro Bank (UK) and why we should support physical books stores such as Waterstones and Foyles, and let’s not forget each and every one the smaller independents books stores.I also touch upon my decision to travel the world and explore new countries, cultures, and experiences. Episode 10: Professor Mike Barnes – Depression, Anxiety & Medical Marijuana
On this week’s show, we speak with Professor Mike Barnes who is Clinical Director at Christchurch Group, responsible for all clinical and therapy services. A highly experienced consultant neurologist, over the last 20 years, Professor Barnes has been vocal in his support for the legalise cannabis for medical use campaign and also welcomes commercial legalisation as we have seen across parts of Europe and North America. We discuss in depth the many benefits that CBD oil can provide for illnesses such as MS, cerebral palsy, depression, anxiety and stress. We have been hearing about more and more cases of people who are able to find relief through cannabis – and we associate the relaxing effects that it provides with the compound THC. However, recent research shows that CBD has many of the same effects as THC without the psychoactive reactions.CBD is a completely non-psychoactive cannabinoid that works to counteract the effects of THC and other psychoactive compounds. CBD oil has been researched more and more in recent years and is being considered somewhat of a miracle compound due to its amazing success rate when it comes to treating patients with depression and anxiety. We plan to fully investigate and review these findings and will follow up in the coming weeks. Episode 9: Jon Matrix – Male Mastery –
The Italians have the charm; the Greeks have the boldness, and the Spanish have the language. So what do us Brits have when it comes to charming the fairer sex? As much as it pains me to say it, not much! The very thought of approaching a woman in the street during the day without as much as a beer for Dutch courage feels the majority of men with fear. So what is the preferred hunting ground for us Brits? Now many women will be put off by the use of the word ‘hunting ground’ and rightly, so, but it seems an appropriate word for the way the majority of men approach a woman asking them out on a date. Now get this and make sure you digest the facts – 79% of men prefer the surroundings of a nightclub or bar to approach a woman, generally fuelled by alcohol and in the company of their mates. Now get this – 67% of women are not interested in picking up men when in a nightclub or bar. Why? Because they are out with their friends for a good night and that generally doesn’t involve taking a bloke home for the night. I will let you do the math! But don’t worry guys because help is on hand and that comes in the shape of Jon Matrix from Male Mastery. I was aware of Jon after watching some of his videos on YouTube and I must admit I was surprised, to say the least. Not because Jon is an average guy like you and me, but because of his approach, which I have to say is very successful, but is also very different to how I assumed a successful approach would be.I guarantee you that the majority of men who listen to this podcast will end up saying to themselves…’argh I get it now’ or ‘that makes sense.’ You see the biggest fear men have when approaching a woman is being blown out and turned down. But with Jon’s approach he never really gives the woman the opportunity to do that. And I don’t mean by using any clever tricks or techniques. I would love to tell you more, but you will just have to listen to the podcast and find out for yourself.DOWNLOAD AUDIOSUBSCRIBEEssential Learning Points From This Episode:Showering a woman with compliments and niceties is a turn-offProviding resistance can draw a woman towards youRelax and don’t go in for the kill will dramatically improve your chances of success Important Links & Mentions From This Episode Peter Tatchell FoundationMale Mastery Website Male Mastery on TwitterMale Mastery on FacebookThank You for Tuning In!At Impact Lifestyle it is our mission to interview the very best guests that can educate, entertain and inspire our listeners to go on and achieve success in life. I am new to this whole vegetarian/vegan lifestyle so bear with me!! I also explain why I decided to experiment with a vegetarian diet.We also touch very briefly on my experience with cutting out refined sugar from my diet. That is, if I make it through the recording without veering off topic, smashing up my laptop top or crying uncontrollably into my mic and blowing up my set up – Yes coming off the white stuff is truly horrific. We also touch upon razors, vitamins, books, iOS 10, and mobile accessories to name a few. Episode 8: Peter Tatchell – Standing Up For What You Believe in
I first became aware of Peter Tatchell while reading a Fiona Harrold book some years ago. I made a note to interview Peter on my podcast show even though at the time I didn’t have a show. However, with foresight and will, I created a show some years later and had the pleasure of talking with Peter at length about his crusades and campaigns into some of the lesser-known issues, which exist behind the closed doors of the mainstream media. Also, we discuss some of the more publicised issues, that on many occasions Peter has been instrumental in campaigning for.Peter made headline news when he attempted not once, but twice to place a citizen’s arrest on former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe. Peter sustained injuries in the process caused by Mugabe’s security team that still hamper him to this day. Not one to shy aware from the dangers of such campaigns Peter was also instrumental in the Stop The Murder Music which campaigned against Reggae artists who cited homophobic and hatred towards the LGBT community, through the action group OUTRAGE which he co-founded.Peter is also an accomplished author and public speaker and has traveled all over the world supporting campaigns and causes that often fail to receive the widespread coverage that some of the more politically driven campaigns do. The Peter Tatchell Foundation is often referred to using the David and Goliath analogy due to their persistence in pursuing campaigns against opposition which often have substantial influence and funds to brush such matters under the carpet.Having been active in his pursuit of justice and equality over several decades, Peter has experienced drastic change and in many ways been instrumental in seeking such changes.
