Demystifying DMER with MJ Harford LPC, NCC

I’m happy to introduce you to MJ Harford Yost, a licensed professional counselor, about her participation in the Mental Health and Motherhood Summit. MJ discusses her focus on postpartum mental health, particularly the lesser-known condition known as Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex (DMER), which affects some women during breastfeeding. Even if you’re not breastfeeding, this talk might provide you with insight on why you struggled in your own experiences or help you be an advocate for the women in your life who are in this season of motherhood. “Sometimes that simple piece of getting the language, it unlocks so much healing. At least I can describe what’s happening to myself and to other people. Even if nothing about the experience changes, sometimes that alone is enough to propel us into a more balanced psychological state.” - MJ Harford Please register for MJ’s presentation and join us at the Mental Health and Motherhood Summit this weekend (and beyond). Tips For Attending The Summit Please note this summit covers topics around mental health and includes some presentations from licensed professionals BUT IT DOES NOT REPLACE SEEKING PROFESSIONAL HELP IN YOUR AREA. The advice and resources through this event are supplemental to seeking counseling and medical attention through your individual providers. YOU CAN CONTACT 988 OR POSTPARTUM SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL FOR MORE INFORMATION ON NEXT STEPS TO HELP. Additional resources are listed here Resources — Mental Health and Motherhood There are many new features to the Mental Health and Motherhood Summit this year. I want to take a moment to cover the basics and point out the additional resources you’ll find at this event. Although the live event is October 10-11, 2025, all tickets come with recording access. The standard $25 tickets will give you up to a week of replay time. The VIP tickets (prices increase this week) will give you up to a year of replay access. Tips for replays: Pick out the talks that interest you most at the time of checkout (or before the event begins through your login email.) You will get calendar reminders for the talks you’d like to see live and you can explore the others as the replays are available. Staying connected: Attendees can chat with everyone in various ways! Note these chats are self-monitored but you can report unsafe or discriminatory behavior to me, anytime. * Live chat feature during the presentation times * The Lobby offers a new way for general discussion * Sponsors and speakers can be directly contacted on their pages Tips for building your mental health toolbox: Be sure to follow your speakers, sign up for their email newsletters, and download all the free resources and giveaways they are offering before you lose replay access! You can also check out the sponsor pages to see their free offers. Schedule Features & Updates I’d also like to note three speakers had to back out of the event due to unforeseen circumstances. If you registered for them, you should have been notified. Also note we have two stages. If you’re looking for another talk, check both stage pages to find them. Pre-registering helps make this navigation easier. Live Welcome and Panel Discussions 8:20 am- 9 am (PST) Friday // What We’re Learning to Let Go: a panel discussion on how we can move forward from a survival mindset to a compassionate one in motherhood. 8:20 am- 9 am (PST) Saturday // Building A Community (that works for you): A panel that invites attendees and speakers to share how they find community in motherhood, how that can change overtime, and what mothers can try moving forward. Thank you for being a part of this event with us again! Chanel Riggle, founder & organizer Get full access to Motherhood Minute at motherhoodminute.substack.com/subscribe

Cultivating Supportive Motherhood Spaces with Zoe Gardiner

Welcome! In This Season is a podcast dedicated to the community of Motherhood Minute and a way to continue the conversations we have in this space. Please consider supporting this project and future projects that help mothers build community! In this episode, I interview Kate Middleton from about building community in motherhood for the new series Nurturing Spaces. We discussed -the challenges of finding friendship in motherhood and the importance of connection and support in raising children. -the role of kindness and intentional acts of kindness in building and sustaining community. “I'm sensing this even in our substack community; women are craving connection. We're craving that feeling of genuine friendship where we can support one another, to use your word, encourage each other…And just really be there for each other on an emotional, even spiritual level, if you will. I think that's so integral to the health of the mother and by extension the health of the children.” -Kay M Kay was an absolute delight to talk to for this project. She is a master connection builder on Substack and is happy to hear more from you! Please tag her in the comments and subscribe to her newsletter. What is Grace?

What is grace and why does understanding its definition matter? It’s not just a cute word. Grace is impactful! No matter what season of life you're coming from, knowing how God blesses us and why is going to change the way you think about life in a big way. Take a coffee break and learn about the transformative power of knowing the gospel in a big way. Scripture discussed includes Matthew 5 and Ephesians 1-2. Additional books of the Bible that would be helpful would be Romans. Follow us on Instagram @inthisseasonpodcast for more conversation and updates. Email us hello@chanelriggle.com
