How Christians can be influenced by Demons

SECTION 1: DEFINING THE TERMS
First, let’s clarify what we mean.
Possession is full control of a person by a demon.
This is not possible for a Spirit-filled believer. The Holy Spirit and a demon cannot occupy the same dwelling.
But Christians can be oppressed or influenced—that means external attacks, internal struggles, or repeated spiritual pressure.
Ephesians 4:27 warns:
“Do not give the devil a foothold.”
A foothold is access. If we allow it—through sin, wounds, or ignorance—the enemy can influence how we think, feel, or act.
SECTION 2: WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS
Let’s go to the Word.
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 tells us we’re in a spiritual war.
“We take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
This means demonic influence can affect our thinking, even as believers.
1 Peter 5:8–9 says:
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion…”
Why warn believers if they couldn’t be affected?
Because we can be influenced—but we don’t have to be controlled.
SECTION 3: BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF BELIEVER INFLUENCE
Peter – Matthew 16:22–23
Jesus says to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!”
Peter was a follower of Christ—but his thoughts were influenced by the enemy.
Ananias & Sapphira – Acts 5:1–3
Peter says, “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?”
They were part of the early church—but opened a door to deception.
Paul – 2 Corinthians 12:7
He refers to a “messenger of Satan sent to torment me.”
Even Paul wasn’t immune to attack—but he found grace to endure.
SECTION 4: HOW BELIEVERS OPEN DOORS
The enemy needs permission. Here are common access points:
Unforgiveness
Fear and anxiety
Sexual sin
Pride or rebellion
Occult practices (even “harmless” ones)
Generational sin
Trauma or soul wounds
The good news is—we can shut the doors through repentance and deliverance.
SECTION 5: HOW TO RESIST DEMONIC INFLUENCE
James 4:7 gives us the key: “Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee.”
Daily tools for believers:
The Word of God – renew your mind (Romans 12:2)
Prayer and worship – draw close to God
Confession and repentance – shut every open door
Community and accountability – walk in the light

What is your situation like that makes you feel like giving up. If you are a student, you have a lot of classes and papers to finish and you feel overwhelmed, you may be in a marriage and you are feeling lost and bewildered, you may be a mother or a caregiver and you are burned out. Whatever your situation, you feel lost and you feel like giving up, but that is not God’s answer for you regardless of the situation you are in. I want you to look at the following list of five scriptures that should encourage you to look up:
1. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
2. Galatians 6:9 (NIV) – “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
3. Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV) – “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
4. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV) – “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
5.Philippians 4:13 (NIV) – “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

I am reading Psalm 61 verses 1-4 from the NIV version of the BIBle
Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b]
5 For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
Reflection: We notice that this is a Psalm of David who called upon God numerous times when he was in trouble. He is asking God to hear his cry and tells God he has called him from afar, explaining the great need that he has, and reminding God that he has been his refuge and strong tower against his enemies and how he yearns to be in God’s tent and be in the shelter of God’s wings. He continues to let God know that God has heard his vows and God has given him the heritage because he fears God.
Let us pray: Father like David, we bow before you and reverenced your name, that is higher than every other name in heaven and earth. We call upon you and bring our life issues before you and ask for you to help us Lord, God. We ask for healing not only for our children but for those around the world who are ill and suffering from lack of food and care. We ask for a breakthrough Lord, for you are able to hear and answer our cries. Thank you for listening and answering our prayers in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Reading from the NIV version : Romans 5: verses 14-21
14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let us reflect on the passage I just read:
We understand that through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing death to all humanity (v. 14-15). This emphasizes that sin is universal, and its consequences—spiritual separation from God—affect everyone.
Jesus Christ, the second Adam brought the gift of grace and eternal life through His obedience and sacrifice (v. 15-17). Unlike Adam, whose act condemned many, Jesus’ act of righteousness justifies and brings life to many.
We see a difference with sin and death with the free and undeserved gift of grace, which is not earned but it is given because of God’s love.
Jesus is that benefactor. He paid the debt of sin with His life, offering us freedom and eternal life. But just like the debtor must accept the gift, we must accept Jesus to experience salvation.
Urgency: Accept this gift because it replaces condemnation with forgiveness and life
Grace overcomes sin’s power; Where sin increased, grace abounded even more (v. 20-21). Grace reigns through righteousness, leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ. No sin is too great for God’s grace. The abundance of grace means that no one is beyond redemption if they turn to Jesus.
Let us pray: Father, we come today understanding your hand of love and grace that you are extending to us. We know that only you can change our situation of sin and replace it with grace and eventual salvation and eternal life when we accept Jesus into our lives. Help us Lord, God, to know that you are calling us to receive this gift of love now and we should receive it before it is too late in Jesus name, amen

How and Why Do Demons Enter in a person’s Mind and Body

For the next eight weeks, I will be discussing demonology
But Today, I will be focusing on how and why demons enter a person’s mind and body.
Demons seek access to a person’s life to influence, oppress, or even possess them. There are various ways this can happen:
A. Through Open Doors (Ephesians 4:27)
“Neither give place to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:27, KJV)
Paul warns believers not to give the devil an opportunity or foothold. When a person engages in sin, trauma, or disobedience to God’s word, they may create an opening that allows demons to enter and take control. Here are some common ways this happens:
Unrepented Sin – Engaging in sinful behaviors (such as sexual immorality, hatred, envy, idolatry, or substance abuse) can invite demonic oppression (Galatians 5:19-21).
Unforgiveness and Bitterness – Holding onto resentment creates an entry point (2 Corinthians 2:10-11). Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,
Occult Practices – Participation in witchcraft, fortune-telling, Ouija boards, or new-age spirituality opens doors to demonic influence (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.
Addictions – Substance abuse, pornography, or other addictive behaviors can enslave a person spiritually (1 Corinthians 6:12). 12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
Trauma and Emotional Wounds – Deep wounds, especially from abuse or rejection, can make a person vulnerable to demonic oppression.
Negative Words and Curses – Speaking negativity over oneself or receiving word curses from others can invite demonic bondage (Proverbs 18:21). “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Generational Curses – Demonic influence can pass through family bloodlines due to past sins or covenants (Exodus 20:5). You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
B. When a Demon Returns (Luke 11:24-26)
“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” (Luke 11:24-26, NIV)
This passage describes a person who was once delivered from demonic influence but failed to remain filled with the Holy Spirit and God’s Word. Key insights include:
Demons Wander and Seek Rest – When cast out, demons seek a new home because they desire a host.
An Empty House is Vulnerable – If a person does not stay spiritually strong (through prayer, scripture, and obedience to God), the demon can return.
The Return is Worse – The returning demon brings more wicked spirits, worsening the person’s condition.
Search your hearts to find out where you are now. Are you still angry, unforgiving, bitter, still experiencing traumatic feelings? Are you still believing those word curses that have been spoken over you? Are you still addicted? Are you still dealing with occult practices?
Let’s pray. Father, we come humbly before you asking for your forgiveness for the sins we have committed, the generational curses passed down from past generations, word curses, rejection, occult practices, unforgiveness, and bitterness, and everything that has hindered our spiritual growth. We renounce every sin. We cancel and break the hold that the enemy has on us, and we look to you for deliverance and new life that only you can give in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection: We come into God’s presence alone or with other believers singing, shouting, thanking God, and worshiping God for who He is. He is the author and finisher of our faith; he is the king of kings, Lord of Lords, and Lord over heaven and earth. Even the mountains, the sea, the lands, the sky, the moon, and the birds of the air to mention a few, belong to Him for he made them all. He made us also; we are his flock, and He came to set us free from our sins. Let us kneel down and worship him, not only when we need to receive from him, but to worship him for who He is, Our God who loves us.
Let us Pray:
Father, we come to you acknowledging you as our God, the Mighty One, the one who sent Jesus to die on the cross and set us free from our sins. We recognize that we could not free ourselves, but it was by your grace that we were set free. We know the time is now that we need to reverence you as our Lord and Savior, our king of Kings and Lord of Lords, that you have full control, power, and ownership of the heavens and the earth, and seek your face with joy, with shouting, and praise for who you are and not for what we can receive from you. We ask that you humble us Lord and remove our selfishness and pride that keep us from worshiping you and we pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.

Waiting on God is critical part of your life and faith. I have been waiting on God for healing of my daughter and I believe that God will heal my daughter. I know that God is doing something new in my life such as building up my faith and teaching me how much he loves me and how much I need to depend on him in my l
What Does Waiting on God Mean?
Waiting on God means trusting in God’s timing, relying and believing on his promises, and actively seeking God’s will while maintaining hope and patience. This means that you do not sit back and wait on God, no, you pray, obey and prepare for God’s healing or position yourself for what God is going to do in your life or in the life of your loved one. For example, when you plant a seed, you have to wait for the seed to grow and mature into a plant, but in the mean time you water the ground, and put fertilizer in the ground so that the plant grow strong.
Let us look at some bible verses on waiting on God
Isaiah 40:31
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 tells us that we shall renew our strength and that we will run and not be weary; we will walk and not faint.
Psalm 27:14 states 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. We need to be courageous to get the strength that we need.
Lamentations 3:25-26: 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. Waiting for God brings on goodness of God.
Psalm 37:7: 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Do not be envious of others who seem to prosper; simply wait on the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
Reflection Question: How can you apply these verses to their lives?
4. Examples of Waiting on God in the Bible
a. Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 15:1-6; Genesis 21:1-7)
Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for God’s promise of a son. Even when they doubted and took matters into their own hands (Hagar and Ishmael), God’s promise was ultimately fulfilled in His timing.
For you: Trust that God’s promises will be fulfilled, even if the wait seems long.
b. Joseph (Genesis 37; Genesis 39–41)
Joseph waited years in slavery and prison before God elevated him to a position of power.
The trials Joseph faced during his waiting period prepared him for his God-given purpose.
For You: Waiting often refines us for the roles God has planned.
c. David (1 Samuel 16; 2 Samuel 5:1-5)
Anointed as a young man, David waited years to become king, enduring persecution and hardship from Saul.
For You. David showed faith and obedience, refusing to take shortcuts to God’s plan.Avoid taking matters into your own hands; trust God’s process.
Summary of what to do:
Stop thinking of fear of the unknown
Remember waiting on God builds character, strengthens faith, and aligns them with God’s purpose.
Pray, meditate on scripture, stay active on faith, surround yourself with a community of believers, thank God for small steps
Let’s pray:
Father, my listeners and I come before you because you are a mighty God, you know all things and you have the power to change our lives. We wait on you because you are faithful, a God who keeps your promises and you promise never to leave or forsake us even while we are going through deep perils.
Teach us to wait on you, as you give us courage, strength, and faith, and patience while you work on our hearts letting us know that you love us so much and that you are performing a great work in us as a potter works with his clay. Thank you Father in Jesus’ name for the transformation that you are creating.

Today, I am reading from Psalm 51: verses 1-13; I am reading from the NIV version of the Bible. Hear the word of God.
1Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Reflection:
David appears before God with a sorrowful heart because of the sin he committed against God. He acknowledges that he was born in sin even in his mother’s womb and know that his sin could only be removed by God who is compassionate and merciful towards us when we humble ourselves and confess our sin to him. He asked God to wash away his sin, create in him a clean heart, not abandoned him but restore the joy of his salvation so he could worship God in spirit and in truth and teach others along the way.
Let us pray:
Father, we come to you acknowledging you as the God of Gods and king of Kings, merciful in the heavens and the earth, and the God who answers our prayers. We have sinned against you and we come humbly before you because you are the only one who can heal us from sin and restore us to wholeness. We come asking you to wash us and make us clean again and restore our relationship that you had with us. Give us the strength to depend only on you for all things for you have the power to make changes in our lives and help us stay on track and keep us from the enemy’s control.
Father, in the name of Jesus, for the one who is under the control of the enemy, I speak deliverance now. I break the enemy’s hold over you and I cancel the plans that the enemy has for you. You will not bend to the enemy’s control. I decree that you will walk in newness of life and accomplish your purpose that God has for you to fulfill.

Today, I will be giving you the steps that you can incorporate into your life to deal with and/or overcome trauma in your life.
Maybe you are not a Christian and you desire to be a Christian, you are a new Christian and your past trauma keeps coming up in your mind making you feel unworthy of God’s love and you do not know how to handle it. Maybe you are married and do not feel loved although your spouse does his/her best to treat you kindly and you do not know what to do in your life. Here are some steps to follow:
If you have never given your life to Jesus, visit or Join a church and begin the process of becoming a Christian when you think you are ready
Saying the sinner’s prayer
Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior
Being Baptized
Bible study
Recognize and Acknowledge the Trauma
Healing starts with acknowledging your pain and bringing it to God.
Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit.
Spend Time with God Daily
A consistent relationship with God invites His healing into your heart.
Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Renew Your Mind with God’s Truth
Replace negative thoughts with God’s promises.
Romans 12:2: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Choose Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a powerful step toward healing, freeing you from bitterness.
Ephesians 4:31-32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Connect with a Supportive Community
Healing often comes through relationships with others who care for you.
Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Lean on the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is your helper and guide in the healing process.
John 14:26: “The Holy Spirit will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Embrace Gratitude and Joy
Gratitude shifts your focus from pain to God’s blessings.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.”
Trust God’s Timing
Healing takes time, but God’s timing is perfect.
Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
10. Seek Professional Help
God often works through trained counselors and therapists to bring healing.
Proverbs 11:14: “In an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
Declare Victory Through Christ
Speak God’s promises over your life and embrace your identity in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17: “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Reflection:
Healing from trauma is a journey, but as we’ve seen through these scriptures, God is faithful. Whether through prayer, scripture, community, or counseling, He provides what you need to heal. Take the first step today and trust that God is working in your life.
Let’s Pray:
Merciful Father, God of peace and love, the God of second chances, we come to you because you have a plan for each of us and that plan to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. I pray for those who are still dealing with the harsh reality of Trauma in their lives and they are feeling lost and unworthy, I pray father they will believe in the plans you have for them Lord. I pray that they will utilize these steps I have mentioned in this podcast Lord, and free themselves of the bondage they are in. I pray Lord, God, they will be know they are your children and that you love them unconditionally and that your desire is to heal, set free, and deliver them from all of their fears in Jesus, name, Amen.

Today I will be reading from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 1, verses 18 to 23 from the king James Virgin and it reads as follows: 18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save His people from their sins. 22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying: 23. Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Reflection: We learned two important facts from these verses:
1.Jesus came to save us from our sins.
2. God is with us. Let us reflect on Jesus came to save us from our sins. a. John 3:16-17 says that God so loved the world that he sent his son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son in the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world may be saved through Him. b. Romans 5:8 But God showed his love for us for while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us c. 1 Timothy 1:15: This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Let us reflect on the statement that God is with us: a. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and fortress a present help in the time of trouble. This Psalm explains God’s presence with us in good as well as difficult times. b. Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. In your lonely times, where everyone has forgotten you, God is with you. Even in times when you feel like giving up, God is with you. He will give you the strength to make a way out of your situation. c. John 14:16-17: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth.” Through the Holy Spirit, God remains with us continually. d. Hebrews 13:5: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” This promise tells us that God is with us forever and he promises never to forsake us so we can have hope in difficult times.
Let us pray: Father we come to you during this Christmas season to give you praise, honor, and glory for who you are. We thank you for sending Jesus to save us from our sins. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to confess our sins and accept Jesus as Lord of our lives. Thank you Father that You are with us forever and you promise never to forsake us. I pray for my listeners who are going through a lonely period in their lives, difficult times, emotional difficulties, and illnesses, that they would remember that they can rely on you, for you are with them and they can call you at any time for you know their pain, their situations and those who need you desperately. We ask for healing and deliverance for your people in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today, I am reading verses 1-6 and verses 16-20 of Psalm 18 from the KJV
I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
Reflection: This is a psalm of David when he escaped from the hands of Saul and from his enemies. You learned from verses 1-2 that the Lord is your strength, he is your rock, your fortress and your deliverer, the horn of your salvation and your high tower. Verse 3 explains that He is worthy to be praised. In verse 4 and 5 explained how David was afraid and how he was close to death but in his distress, he called upon God and God heard his cries. Verses 16 through 20, explain God took David out of many waters and how God brought him into a large place because he delighted in him. David remained true to God and God recompensed him.
Are you experiencing a lot of issues right now and you cannot see your way? Cry out to God, for he is your strength, your fortress and your high tower. He will rescue you as he did David. You must utilize your faith to believe that He will do it and he will.
Let us pray: Father God, I pray for healing for my listeners who may be ill and dying, those who may not have proper housing or living on the streets, those who are suffering with various emotional issues, that you would provide healing and restore them to wholeness God in the name of Jesus. There is nothing too hard for you, for you are God. The word states that you are a strong tower, a fortress and their deliverer. I pray that they will call upon you for you are worthy to be praised and that you answer prayer. Thank you God for answering their prayers in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Why Are You Dissatisfied with Life?

You are unable to achieve your dreams due to an accident or sickness that has prevented you from going after your dream.
Reflection: Life is not always smooth for everyone. We cannot tell what will happen today or tomorrow.
Scripture Verse: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
You failed at high school and were unable to be in a basketball team which would have allowed you to do exceedingly well and maybe get a scholarship to a college or university.
Reflection: Your failing at high school is not the end but a new beginning for you. You can always look into a ten-month course on a subject that you like and go to a community college at night.
Scripture Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Your parents died and you were the oldest child left to care for your siblings.
Reflection: Look at that situation as an honor because you were able to help your siblings, and the government did not put you and your siblings in foster care. Sometimes children are separated when they are assigned to foster care.
Scripture Verse: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
You are tired of working hard at your full-time job which is paying only minimum wage, and you cannot see a way out to improve yourself.
Reflection: Regard your situation as the beginning of your greatness. Again, look into a community college as a way to move forward into the future.
Scripture Verse: “Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3
Your spouse walked out on you or died, and you are left feeling lonely and forgotten, and you cannot pick up the pieces of your life.
Reflection: You can no longer feel sad and gloomy over the fact that your spouse died or walked out on you. You need to slowly pick up the pieces of your life so you can live again and hope again. Start meeting with friends for tea and talk about issues with your friends. You will find that everyone has a problem, but the problem is not the same as yours.
Scripture Verse: “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
You have no friends because you do not trust anybody, and so you feel dissatisfied with life.
Reflection: Start by joining a therapeutic group where you can feel good sharing openly with others. In time, you will make friends and trust others. People need people.
Scripture Verse: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
You are lying in a hospital bed sick and dying; You feel like giving up and taking your life because your life has no meaning.
Reflection: Some people die younger than others, but the fact of the matter is that we will all die. However, what matters is how we go about meeting our Maker.
Scripture Verse: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
Let us pray:
Father,
We come in your presence one more time, because in your presence is fullness of joy and peace forever more. You said, come unto me all you who are weary and I will give you rest. So we come before you bringing you the needs of your children who feel dissatisfied with life for several reasons. Lord, some are sick, others feel lonely, poverty stricken, struggling with their past and do not have a way out of their situations. I pray in the name of Jesus, that you would supply their needs, giving them hope and a future. Thank you Lord for your goodness and your mercy.

Let us talk about how you experience pain as a child.
When you were a child, you remember many times that you fell and hurt yourself but managed to get up and get help from your mom or your dad. They cleaned your cut, put a bandage on it, and you waited till the cut was healed. You did not blame anyone, not even yourself.
What happens when you are wounded emotionally or physically? You remember the pain and the hurt, but you refuse to let them go. You hold on to them and you do not allow time to heal you from them? Why does that happen?
You refuse to forgive the person or persons who hurt you
The pain is so sharp that you cannot bear it
You cannot believe the things that your best friend said about you
You can’t believe your spouse left you for your best friend
You were left with emotional pain when you were physically abused
The list is endless what you might have gone through and years have past and your wounds are still raw; you are still not healed.
You remain bitter and unforgiving
Let us pray.
Father, we come to you because you understand what we are going through. You sent Jesus to feel the pain of sin and to die in our place. I ask Lord, God, in the name of Jesus, that you show us the way we should go, how we should act, and the love that we should have even for those who have hurt us. We ask for a cleansing and healing of our hearts so we can have a spiritual relationship with you.

In our previous episode, we talked about how you felt dealing with painful wounds and why it was difficult to give up the pain and move forward. Today, we are going to delve into why unforgiveness is dangerous, what it leads to and why we need to forgive others.
Bitterness and Resentment:Unforgiveness breeds bitterness, which can fester and grow into resentment, poisoning the heart.
Scripture: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)
Blocks God’s Forgiveness:Holding onto unforgiveness can block us from receiving God’s forgiveness.
Scripture: “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:15)
Hinders Prayer and Worship:Unforgiveness can create a barrier between us and God, affecting our spiritual life and hindering our prayers.
Scripture: “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” (Mark 11:25)
Causes Emotional and Physical Harm:Unforgiveness can lead to stress, anxiety, and even physical ailments, as the burden of anger and hurt weighs down the body and soul.
Scripture: “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” (Proverbs 14:30)
Let us pray.
Father we come before you because you are loving and compassionate and you are a forgiving God. We confess our sins of hate, jealousy, bitterness, and unforgiveness and we ask for your forgiveness. We realize that if we do not forgive, we are the ones who remain in bondage without healing. You said if we confess our sin, you are faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all righteousness. You also said that if we do not forgive, you will not forgive us. Thank you Father that you will continue to guide and direct our paths so we do not fall in the pit of this sin in Jesus name, amen.

Why we should commit to God’s ways

A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on scripture verses from my discussions and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God will bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
Before committing to God’s way, we should thrive to understand the ways of the Lord, so we know what God expects of us.
The “ways of the Lord” refer to the principles, actions, and character of God as revealed in the Bible. Understanding and committing to God’s ways is fundamental to a life of faith. Let us begin by defining five characteristics of the Lord, with their relative scripture verses. In each situation, we will make a case for why we should commit to the way of the Lord.
Righteousness and Justice.
Psalm 11:7 states that the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face. Because God’s ways are inherently righteous and just, He is the ultimate standard of morality, and His actions are always in alignment with truth and fairness. By committing to God’s ways, we align ourselves with what is right and just, fostering a life that reflects His character.
Love and Compassion
Psalm 145:8 states that “The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love” Since God’s ways are marked by love and compassion, we are to follow in his ways by living a life of love and compassion towards others. This fulfills the greatest commandment to love God and to love our neighbors (Matthew 22: 37-39)
3. Holiness and Purity
In 1 Peter 1: 15-16 the scripture states, “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.'” (1 Peter 1:15-16). Since we are committed to following in God’s ways, we should thrive to be like him in all things. God knows our weaknesses as sinful beings and He would help us when we fall and get up again.
Faithfulness and Truth
Psalm 145:13 states that “The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.” To be committed to God’s ways we must be faithful in our lives, become trustworthy and true in our relationships and responsibilities.
5. Peace and Guidance
Proverbs 3:6 states that “In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” It is tiring going through endless circles trying to solve your problems when all we have to do is submit all to God and he will guide us accordingly. When we do so, we receive his peace as we follow his directions and make wise decisions. This commitment leads to a life of order and purpose, reflecting the peace that comes from walking in God’s will.
Why Commit to God’s Ways?
You fulfill your purpose in life. Everyone was born with a purpose to fulfill. When you you commit to God’s ways, you will live a fulfilling and purposeful life. Ephesians 2:10
You receive blessing and prosperity. When you are committed to God’s law, is kind and a blessing to others, God is going to bless you. We see that in Psalm 1:1-13 that the blessing that one receives is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither.
You receive Eternal Life: When you are committed to God’s ways, you are on the path to Eternal life. The word of the Lord states that Commitment to God’s ways is the path to eternal life. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” By following God’s ways, we enter into a relationship with Him that leads to eternal life.
In summary, the ways of the Lord are the paths of righteousness, love, holiness, faithfulness, and peace. By committing to these ways, we live a life that reflects God’s character, leading to blessings in this life and the assurance of eternal life to come.
Let us pray: Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus, desiring to know you and your ways and committed to following your directions. Lord, God help us not to depend on our selves to solve our problems, but instead, depending on you, following your lead so that we can live and thrive and do your will. Teach us your way so we can live according to your will and direction. We ask for forgiveness as we confess and renounce our selfishness and pride. You said in your word, if we confess our sins, you are faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all righteousness. Thank you Lord for your gracious love and grace.

When Things are Not Adding Up: You Feel That You Have Failed

Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, “When things are not adding up? You feel that you have failed. You will understand that even if you have failed in your business, failure is not the end, and that God is guiding you in your journey and you can feel hopeful.
I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying, reading from one of my books, or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had a difficult past and are currently experiencing difficulties. A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on the scripture verses and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
Have you felt that things are not adding up? You simply do not know the direction God is taking you and you feel that you have failed to make a difference in the lives of others. Let us break this down further and show you that God wants to use you in different ways:
I feel the same way. In my beginning statement, I explained that I felt like things were not adding up seeing that my YouTube channel is not doing well even though I have put in a lot of hard work. I am asking God to guide me through this difficult time and show me what He wants me to do. This will come from trusting and believing in God through prayer and his word knowing that God does not make junk. You are not junk and you are not a failure. God desires to use your giftings in different ways, and for His glory. Ephesians 4:12 states that the purpose of our talents is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ.
I think the first thing to ask yourself is what has God put in your heart to do from the beginning of your ministry, and have you been doing that earnestly? I remember God planting a Podcast for me to do and while I started a Podcast “Insights on Healing” I have not consistently followed his leadership.
If you have not followed God’s leading and positioning, revisit it and act upon it. Since I have not been actively creating a Podcast weekly, I have decided to revisit my stance and become active in pursuing God’s purpose by creating podcast episodes where I am interviewing guests.
In the past few years of doing different things and not positioning myself in one main area, I have felt lonely and need to hire help to be successful. You and I need help to move our businesses along
Prayer: Let us pray: Father, I pray for every listener who seems to feel lost on his/her journey. I pray father in the name of Jesus, that they would remember that you have a plan and a purpose for every person before the world began and when that person follows your plan, he/she would walk in his/her destiny. I pray that every person will trust you and increase hope and faith in you because you are faithful to your promises.

In today’s podcast I will discuss the importance of waiting on God and how you should wait on him. We will show you how Hannah in the Bible waited on God.
Questions:
Have you had a reason to wait on God for a child, for a new house, for healing, for acceptance into a college, for a new job, for revitalization?
What does it mean to wait on God?
Waiting on God doesn’t mean to sit idly by. Waiting means to hope, to anticipate, and to trust.
Hannah had a reason for waiting on God-She was barren-could not have children. She suffered emotional pain from knowing this.
She applied her faith by consistently praying and trusting in God. In addition to her consistent prayer, she worshiped and sacrifice to God at Shiloh where her husband Elkanah gave her a double portion because she was barren
She was patient through prayer even when it seemed that God would never answer her prayer
Hannah was humble; although she experienced a lot of adversity in her life. She was mocked by her rival for being barren, yet, she never lashed out in anger at her rival.
She was meek, she endured her pain with a quiet spirit, yet with a persistency towards God knowing what she wanted from Him and by faith she would receive what she wanted from God.
She experienced long-suffering for years, surrendered and submitted her cares to God and vowed to trust Him. She never gave up hope. God did not chastise her for being discontent. God understands our feelings.
She kept God’s commandments loving God and depending on Him
She endured to the end. She told God she wanted a son and if she did, she promised to dedicate his life to the service of God. Samuel was born. (1 Samuel 1:11). She believed what she had asked for would come to past. Her words are prophetic. In 1 Samuel 2:8, she said these words: He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.
Let us Pray for your needs:
Father, I bring my listeners to you. They have prayed for healing for their families, for that new house, for that new job and for other areas in their lives. I pray that you will help them with faith, patience, trust, and persistency to go after you and depend on you for all of their needs in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How to Live to God

I will be reading from 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 from the New International Version of the Bible and reflect on these verses and give some answers on how to live for God.
Reading:
14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
Explanation of 2 Cor 5:14 This verse means that we were considered dead under sin, with no hope at all, until God sent his Son Jesus to die in our place by paying the price for our sins. You see it was by grace that you and I have been rescued from our sinful state. Ephesians 2:8 states “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Apostle Paul in Gal. 2:20 confirms this: 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Apostle Paul’s former life was a persecutor of Christians, and his life was transformed to a servant of God. You can read about this in Acts 9 while he was on the road to Damascus to persecute Christians, he encountered Jesus.
Let us review 2 Cor. 5:15 which explains why we should live to God
2 Cor. 5:15 Verse 15 states that we should not live for ourselves but for him who died and rose again. Col 3:3 confirms this: 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Because we were dead in our trespasses and Christ took us out of this bondage we were in and rose again, the least we could do is to live to Him. Romans 14:8 confirms this and states: “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”
Let’s look at the things that are not pleasing to God in Galatians 5:19-21
a)sexual immorality meaning sexuality between unmarried people
b) impurity means moral uncleanness through sensual thoughts, words, and deeds outside the sacred confines of marriage.
c)debauchery means behavior involving sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. that is often considered immoral.
d)idolatry means the worship of someone or something other than God as though it were God.
e) witchcraft; A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard,
f)hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, g)dissensions, factions 21 and envy;
h)drunkenness
i)orgies, and the like. an occasion when a group of people behave in a wild uncontrolled way, especially involving sex, alcohol, or illegal drugs:
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
What to do if you find yourself doing any of the above. You can overcome your faults by doing the following:
a) I suggest that you confess, repent, and ask God’s forgiveness for any or all of these things.
b) Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior
c) If it is possible, seek a Bible believing Church which will help you maintain a life that is pleasing to God.
Pray, worship, and study the Bible daily to be in tune with
God.
Love God and others the way God loves you. When you do, you will have love and peace in your heart which are the fruit of the spirit.
Follow God’s commandments to do good and that is pleasing to God.
Obey those who are in authority over you, your actions will be pleasing to God.
Husband and wife should live in agreement with each other. Pray for your marriage if that is not the case.
Utilize Faith at all times because God is with you and fighting your battles. He will never leave or forsake you. (Joshua 1:5;Deut 31:8)We all go through hardship at times, but we must remember that God fights your battles. 2 Chronicles 20:15
Let us pray:
Father, you are Almighty, the great I am, the God of love and mercy, the God of all comfort, who comforts me when I am weak so I can comfort those with the comfort I have received from you. You are the God who provides for me, the One who bears my burdens, and the One who heals, delivers, and forgives my sins. I come before you today because I know You will not send me away empty handed.
I confess that I have sinned and acted in ways that are not pleasing to you, I repent of my actions, and I ask for your forgiveness in the name of Jesus.
Help me dear God to change my thought patterns and my ways so I do the things that are pleasing to you. Wash me and make me clean, I pray in the name of Jesus.
I desire to have an intimate relationship with you
And to invite Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior
I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior
The One who died on the cross and rose again,
Paying the penalty for my sins,
So I could have salvation and eternal life
I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you have sincerely prayed the sinner’s prayer
You have salvation and eternal life.

If God is for You, Who Can Be Against You

Questions:
Have you been going through life-issues for a long time and feel stuck in your past and cannot come out of that mindset?
Someone condemned you, someone made you feel that you would never be free to become the person God wants you to be
Answer.
I am here to tell you that you are unique. You are a child of God and that when God created you, he created you to praise and worship him and to have hope and purpose in your life. Romans 8:1 states that there is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.
When you walk in the flesh, you do the things that are not pleasing to God and as a result, your life does not have full meaning. These things include hatred, envy, jealousy, sexual immorality and all the areas that are listed in Galatians 5: 19-21.
When you walk in the spirit of Christ, you increase in the knowledge of God, and you live to please God. You have peace, joy, love, fulfillment and those things that are listed in Galatians 5:22-23.
You can stand on God’s promises for your life without fear and condemnation because you are under the guidance and protection of your heavenly Father.
God gives second chances to those who backslide and you can always re-unite with God through confession and repentance. In 1 John 1:9, the Bible states that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Let us Pray for your needs:
Father, we all come to you. We confess that we have sinned and come short of your glory and ask for your forgiveness for walking after the flesh and not walking in the light of your love and peace. Help us dear God, lead us, as we yearn to go in your presence in Jesus’ name, Amen.

How to Bounce Back when Everything is going wrong.
Welcome to “Insights on Healing a weekly Podcast.” Today’s Episode is “How to bounce back when everything is going wrong.” You will learn the importance of praying to God in your distress and trusting Him as he guides you through your difficulty.

In today’s podcast I will give examples from Jesus’ ministry and Apostle Paul’s ministry to help you bounce back.
Step back spend time alone and pray. I remember years ago before I started writing and when my children were still at home, I would spend time with God by writing down everything that was really bothering me and asking God to help me deal with the issues I faced. Even this summer, I cut back on the amount of work I was doing. Currently, I am working only on my Podcast, Insights on Healing to give myself a break from being spread too thin, since I am still caring for my daughter with mental health issues. Everyone’s situation is different so depending on the severity of your issues you may need to speak with your mentor, pastor, or counsellor to get feedback. In the Bible, we read how Jesus took time from the busyness of his ministry to pray to the Father and to stay in his will. The following are some of the reasons why Jesus stayed in prayer:
To prepare for a major task. In Matthew 4:1-11 After his baptism, Jesus was in the wilderness fasting and praying. Later, He had an encounter with Satan in a real way. Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.
2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
When He was about to make an important decision. In Luke 6:12-13. Early in His ministry Jesus spent the whole night alone in prayer. The next day He chose his 12 disciples.
In times of distress. In Luke 22:39-44 hours before his arrest, Jesus went to the Mount of Olives, a short distance from his disciples, and prayed to God saying “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
Look at the issues that you face and take baby steps to solve them. Never feel overwhelmed because it will hinder you and you will not be able to solve anything. You cannot focus on the whole picture because you are unable to solve all the issues at the same time. For the last three weeks, we had a hold up so our daughter was not able to attend her program and it slowed me down tremendously. Instead of feeling disappointed, I trusted the process, so I asked a family member to assist me so I could work on my podcast. I was able to complete other projects that I had started. Let us look at an example from Apostle Paul who went about spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, starting churches, writing to the churches, and keeping abreast of all the goals that he had for them regardless of where he was-even from a jail cell. His whole attitude to life can be put in two words: “Press on”Phil.3:13-14. “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Follow God’s leading. Sometimes we have no idea why God revises our plans of action, but we know it is for His purposes. Six months into a new job, my daughter became ill, a few years ago and after two years or less, I had to take a leave of absence to care for her, not knowing that that job as important as it was, was only for a time, and that God had something better in-store for me, helping to save a life that He would use for His glory afterward. That change of plan has brought me to prayer and has kept me on my knees, for the Bible states in Ephesians 3: 20-21that “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Let us Pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that everyone who is going through issues today that they will come to an understanding of your will for their lives. I pray that every stronghold in their lives will be broken and I decree they will have joy, peace, and understanding that you are their Father, and you want the best for them in the name of Jesus. I pray that you would bless and keep them in Jesus’ name, Amen.
