Intel: The Personal Cloud

Intel – The Personal Cloud: As a user of technologies Tony Richards, Managing Director of Computer Strategies in Guildford, UK, says he loves to try bleeding edge solutions. But when it comes to providing IT support to their client companies every solution has to be proven. In this video he talks about his experiences with a variety of storage solutions and why the WD Sentinel DX4000 meets his clients’ needs.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: The personal cloud is elevating the IT capabilities of small businesses and giving them the power of next generation storage innovations. An IDC Digital Universe Study confirms the data explosion: an estimated 1.8 trillion gigabytes were created in 2012. By 2020 that could grow 50 times in volume. The personal cloud will be an important tool for small and home offices – and anyone with large amounts of data – to store and manage information.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Did you ever have one of those bad tech days? Easy to blame on Mercury in retrograde, but in Harvey’s case this small business owner had risked putting his data on anything he could dump it onto… and something went wrong. Here’s Harv’s story.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Small businesses, like Freedom Concepts in Winnipeg, Manitoba, rely on the power of information technology to manage their ever growing data in the enterprise of bicycle making. But these are not just any bikes. These are bicycles designed for children and adults with conditions such a spina bifida and cerebral palsy. So, the company not only has its own growing pool of business data and bike design information – Freedom Concepts keeps track of the special needs of its clients. The WD Sentinel DX4000 is easy to set up and helps Freedom Concepts centralize, maintain and protect data in its offices in Canada, California and Australia. In this video, CEO and Founder Ken Vanstraelen talks about the importance of the WD Sentinel DX4000 to his business.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Small businesses, like Advanced Chemical Transport in Sunnyvale, California, rely on the power of information technology to offer hazardous waste management services such as chemical, radioactive and biomedical disposal, vacuum truck services, and waste recycling. The WD Sentinel DX4000 is easy to set up and helps ACT centralize, maintain and protect data. In this video, ACT CEO Walt Singer talks about the importance of the WD Sentinel DX4000 to his business.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: The Thecus N4800 NAS appliance features an HDMI output that allows it to be directly connected to an HD TV for playback of movies and video, as well as for device management. It is also capable of web browsing with Flash support. And the N4800 can serve as the central hub for security surveillance video. With a built-in Mini-UPS, in the event of a power outage, the N4800 protects data by writing unwritten data before safely powering off.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Getting data organized and managed in one place can be a challenge for small and medium sized businesses. Having one of QNAP’s TS-x69 series of NAS appliances is having a personal cloud in the office. That means having capabilities such as accessing and managing data from a cell phone. But with the Intel Atom processor built in, it also means playing video directly to an HD TV via and HDMI output, as well as streaming multimedia content.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Asustor’s AS 6 Series of NAS appliances is the ultimate hub for the digital entertainment lifestyle. Intel’s Atom processor is at the heart of this storage device which has some astonishing on-board compute capabilities such support for numerous mobile apps, apps for media and home entertainment, as well as an HDMI output for direct connection to an HDMI-ready TV. In addition, this series of NAS devices provides excellent back-up and personal cloud capabilities for the home office and small office.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Small and medium sized businesses are facing a need to handle an additional 30 percent more data each year, according to research this year from the Aberdeen Group. And Gartner says consumers, who are currently using nearly 500 gigabytes in the average home, will need 7 times more storage in four years — to more than 3 terabytes. The Intel Atom processor D2250 enables storage appliances to do more: automate backup of devices on a network, allow remote access to files anytime, anywhere, on any connected device, stream multiple high-resolution videos simultaneously and extend other multimedia activities to a personal cloud. In addition, these storage solutions can serve as a video surveillance storage and playback station.

Intel – The Personal Cloud: Small businesses, like European Auto Works in Sunnyvale, California, rely on the power of information technology to improve their services to customers who drive German automobiles. The WD Sentinel DX4000 is easy to set up and maintain to centralize and protect data. In this video, auto technician John Polstra of European Auto Works talks about his experience with the WD Sentinel DX4000. See more information on Personal Cloud Solutions.
